A quasi-experimental study is simply an empirical study that can be utilized to help establish how a particular intervention can have an impact on a given target population without randomization. First and foremost, the study participants will be identified, voluntary consent as well as approval from the University’s Institutional Review Board sought. Then, care will be taken to ensure that the names of the participants, as well as any other personal identifiers, are not attached to any study information and materials. Instead, names and other personal identifiers will be replaced with relevant codes and numbers. Also, any identifiable data will be encrypted, and documents and study data that aren’t needed anymore will be properly disposed. Furthermore, access to any identifiable information will be limited to authorized personnel only while data documents will be stored securely. The patients will be assigned to both groups without randomization and the main exclusion criteria for the telehealth monitoring group will be patient’s own personal refusal. A one on one tutorial with those assigned to telehealth monitoring will be conducted to explain how the various telehealth instruments and device are operated before finally launching telehealth monitoring at home. The intervention was telehealth monitoring. The intervention group will be provided with video conferencing equipment, a remote monitoring PC, a body composition analyzer, and a blood glucose meter.
