The movie that I am writing about is “The Notebook”. “The Notebook” is a 2004 American Romantic Drama film directed by Nick Cassavetes. The movie is based on the 1996 novel by Nicholas Sparks. The two main characters are Allie and Noah. Allie and Noah are two love birds, from different sides of the money spectrum. Due to Allie and Noah’s money differences, they lack in having a strong and supported relationship. Allie and Noah were introduced through mutual friends at a young age. Right from the beginning, Allie challenged Noah. Little did Noah know, the biggest challenge of all would be Allie’s parents. Allie’s parents were very wealthy people, of whom didn’t accept anyone who was not wealthy or going to college. Noah was exactly this type
The environment in which Allie was raised in was different compared to Noah. Allie grew up in a wealthy family, a family that had maids. Whereas the environment Noah grew up in was poor. He and his father had enough money to get by.
The film I chose to write about is Perks of Being a Wallflower. The story starts with Charlie the main character feeling depressed and lonely.1 His best friend committed suicide and he is about to start high school without any friends. The story is told in he perspective of Charlie because he writes letters about what is happening in his life. Charlie is an avid reader and immediately connects with his English teacher Mr. Anderson.1 Although Charlie is timid, he meets Sam and Patrick at a football game that he was attending alone. Charlie seems happier throughout the movie as Patrick and Sam invite him out with them. They become good supporting friends that he has not had since the death of his friend.
Throughout the essay I stated the connections between Suzy and Sam. I realized as I was writing this paper and as i read the screenplay that the connections these two young people had are connections adults look for throughout their life. The types of connections they shared are connections people look for in love and marriage. The actions in this screenplay are actual things that happen in the world and people’s day to day lives. This Wes Anderson screenplay can relate to so many people’s lives and real love situations that the world goes through. Not just young people but older adults as
The film that I chose to write about is a Paramount Pictures presentation titled Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan and also featuring a handful of Saturday Night Live cast members, including Tina Fey the author of this picture. The reason behind choosing this film is because it has a unique style of introducing characters, transitioning between scenes, and various tools to help spice up the film. Being one of my personal favorites, Mean Girls is a comedy about a home schooled teenage girl who enters high school for the first time. She tries to figure herself out by where she can fit in and who she needs to become friends with.
Yes I do find evidence of some of Mark’s students taking responsibility for their choices, decisions and/or actions. For example, some of them finished their High School and got their diploma. They chose to attend the retreat and they participated by reading their writings and behaved very nicely. Also, Kevin was always helping around in the kitchen and being a messenger not getting in trouble. Many of the students who decided to be part of the writing class followed through by always attending and writing the best they could. We can also learned that Wong started working and went to community college once he got out just like he
The move I chose to write about is Cheaper By The Dozen, which was a popular movie that came out in 2003. Cheaper By the Dozen is about a family of 12 living a chaotic life after they had to move away from their childhood home. It is also about how both parents try to balance the work life, and parent life, but don’t succeed. The dad by the end realized that his career wasn’t best for family life, and the family is happy, and getting along.
The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the change into their relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy poet. “Although he was quiet, years of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him excel in sports, … An occasional person found him arrogant; most simply figured he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else.” (Sparks 24) Whereas in the film, Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. This is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at the carnival where he asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails her by making her think that he will fall down from such a height. Allie becomes frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she know that this was his plan all along. The change in Noah’s description changes his personality and the way the audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah’s tone of dialogues are also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to spend time with Noah without any objection. “…the four of them stayed at the festival until the crowds were thin and everything closed up for the night. They met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon became inseparable.” (Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today’s society as females have their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays ‘hard to get’ and rejects Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. “‘What are you doing tonight?’ … ‘Why?’ ‘Why? Our date.’ ‘What date?’ ‘The date that you agreed to.’ ‘No!’ ‘Yes, you did. You promised, and you swore it.’ ‘Well, I guess I changed my mind.’ … ‘Come on, one date. What's it gonna hurt?’ ‘Umm..I don't think so.’” (Cassavetes) Noah is also very understanding with Allie’s decision to leave him
The “OUTSIDERS”, a book and movie, portrays a small gang going through hard times. The Book and Movie may have the same plot but have small yet noticeable differences. Both stories take place around Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1965. These should be compared to show why sometimes movies get things wrong and why the book tends to be better, in this case they both stick to the plot with only a few missing or added details, such as the book is slower paced but has more detail, the movie misses or adds small details, and the movie destroys your thought of what characters look like.
With most summer romances follows heartache. As for Noah and Allison, their fairytale love weren’t excluded. When the summer ended, Allison had to return back home, leaving Noah behind. With heartache comes conflict, according to the movie, Allison and Noah got into a huge fight before she left, which ultimately lead them regretting the whole disagreement. Nicolas Sparks, captured this moment perfectly,
“The Notebook” directed by Nick Cassavetes in 2004 tells the story of a couple’s fifty year long love affair and its trials and tribulations. The film begins in a nursing home where an old man (Noah) reads a book to an old lady (Allie) suffering from Alzheimer’s. Noah, a poor country boy, and Allie, a rich city girl, meet
Allie was from a wealthy family. Noah was a poor Miner boy. It did not take long for the two of them to become inseparable
Ryan Gosling as Noah Calhoun - A young man falls in love with Allie the summer after graduating from high school. Flat character – because from the beginning of the story until the end his love and feelings to Allie Hamilton didn’t change. Noah represents true love and true faith. James Garner as Duke (Old Noah Calhoun) – The husband of Allie Hamilton and he is the narrator of the notebook.
Todd Kessler’s film rendition of Keith, a novel by the same name, depicts the altering relationship of two vastly different high school students. Natalie Anderson (Elisabeth Harnois) and Keith Zetterstrom (Jesse McCartney) are two opposing personalities that are paired together as chemistry partners. Natalie is an academically-driven student, planning to attend Duke University upon graduation. Keith, on the other hand, is an easygoing person with a wayward way of life – who keeps his illness, cancer a secret in his life. As the pair become closer, it becomes obvious to Natalie that there is something wrong with Keith that he does not openly speak about.
In the movie The Notebook first released in 2004 that features actor Ryan Gosling and actress Rachel McAdams; Internet Movie DataBase (IMDB) best describes the plot by saying, “A poor yet passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman, giving her a sense of freedom, but they are soon separated because of their social differences” (IMBd). At the start of the movie, an elderly man begins to read a love story from his notebook to a female patient. The love story takes place in 1940. He tells the story how Allie and Noah fall in love over a summer. Then, her parents disapprove of her seeing Noah. The two get into an argument and then decide to break up. The next day Allie is forced to go without saying goodbye to him, she later starts school in New York. Although Noah seemed fine when he left that night, he was devastated and ends up writing Allie a letter each day for a year. She never received the letters because of her mother. Noah ends up going to battle in WWII and Allie becomes a nurse for wounded soldiers. She ends up meets a more wealthy young man who later she becomes engaged to. Later, Allie reads in a
Fang’s laptop is important object due to it being the closest way to being a normal teenager. Without this Fang wouldn't of started a blog about himself and they wouldn’t be friend with people outside the flock. The laptop also has a internet connection from anywhere on earth because it is always secretly and securely connected to a satellite.
