Review of Related Literature of Library System

For libraries to remain a place for a lively exchange of ideas, librarians should be armed with the right knowledge and strong conviction to preserve people’s rights.

Primary sources are more reliable than what someone is telling you what they heard. “Primary Source is the way to go. It goes back in history created by people who lived during that time period. Having access to the records of unrefined artistic, social, scientific and political understanding and accomplishment within the exact period supporting analysis.

Metadata will include access management, preservation, administrative, descriptive, technical and structural data. Much of the metadata will have to be created. The original volumes had no table of contents, index, or other description of the records. Additionally, volumes were arranged chronologically with no attention paid to document type, source, or content. In addition to author, title, publisher, and date, descriptive metadata will be expanded include keywords regarding subjects, individuals, locations, or events referenced in the document, as well as any related documents. This will be a time consuming and costly effort, but it required to maximize the value of the online data to researchers, students, teachers, etc. An index for all volumes was completed after the fact in 1909 and that index will be incorporated into a referential database behind the web page front end, rather than in the metadata itself. This document is a primary sources document because this is an report of what’s actually happen during the event. In this case, it’s a report about south after the Civil war by Carl Schurz which he went to the south and report about how the people in the south is doing.

Just like any library, ancient special libraries, also known as archives, where created to preserve and keep records of specific materials, such as business documents that were written on clay tablets at that time or papyrus scrolls that were about personal or business matters. At first, general libraries were mainly focused on providing educational materials for the adult population; however, libraries have gone through great transformations. Now-a-days, the libraries’ purpose has widened and now they focus on providing any needed information, educational or leisure materials to people of all ages and types of their communities (Rowland, Collection). In general, primary sources are the original materials of history or the original documents and substances that were created at the time, either by a first-hand experience, picture, etc. To make the primary source, reliable and respectable, the source should be as unbiased as possible, objective, and state the facts of the time. Behind the Urals: An American Worker in Russia’s City of Steel is a book written as a firsthand account on writer John Scott’s life in Soviet Russia. First-hand accounts are generally biased to some extent but it is not hard to separate true facts and opinions. Behind the Urals is a good primary source and the author’s opinion, ideals, and beliefs are glossed over through the memoir, and his efforts to remain objective were recognized.

Secondary source: Secondary sources are usually primary sources that have been analysed, interpreted and or evaluated. Secondary sources can be primary sources but it all depends on how it is used.

A primary source of information is information that is seen or heard directly by a person. It is information gathered by a person directly in contact with the incident or event.

Primary sources are data that has not been interpreted and are the original research performed. These sources are from the source of the information. The data given from a primary source has not been translated into information by another person. Primary sources are the source of the data given. Many books of law are primary sources. In LIS 600 students evaluate democratic principles, major information policies, ethical policies, and the role information agencies play in preserving information. In the paper the student determines the role of librarians in the implementation of policy and the role of continuing education no user relations.The instructor describes my paper as “excellent research and smart thoughts.” I earned a B for the paper. The final exam is a culmination of knowledge and discussion of ethical policies, evolution of policies, and education of librarians. These topics provide a knowledge base for anyone entering the library profession. The understating of policy also intertwines with other coursework such as the strategic plan. One cannot create a strategic plan without understanding information policies. I received a letter grade of A for the final exam. Instructor comments for the exam include “a job well done.” These artifacts for LIS 600 build a foundation of library profession providing the theories for future librarian and library development.

Primary sources, in other words, are “firsthand” accounts. These accounts are based on original data and knowledge (i.e. the Fifteenth Amendment.) Primary sources impersonate real life experiences; however, these experiences were documented when the event happened. When a reader is looking for sources, primary sources are unlike secondary sources, they are the real deal, not someone’s interpretation, commentary or what they think may have happened. A primary source, as the name implies, is a primary or original document or physical object that was written or created. Primary sources are commonly used when studying history as they are raw and original and they are from the points of view of people who have direct experience of the past however there is the secondary source as well and it’s a sources that generalizes, analyses, interprets, synthesizes, evaluates, cites, comments on or discusses the original sources or situation under study. Such as books, magazines, and textbooks.

These are sources that had been already published which now can be obtained through different kinds of media such as books, journals, and magazines. Usually researchers will use digital media to access these sources such as using the internet or online journals.

The three primary sources of information are Physical Evidence and Scientific Examinations, Documentation, and information form people. Each source is valuable to an investigation in its own way.
