Another way that Donald Trump gets his message across is his word choice, also known as diction. One prominent example of his effective word choice is lines 19-20 where announces “That all changes -- starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you”. Trump uses words that convey his message and promise of bringing the power of government and change back to the people. He says “This is your moment: it belongs to you” to show how he thinks of the people first and believes all the success is rewarded to the them, instead of to himself. Donald Trump attempts to unite the slowly dividing United States by using the emotional appeals of religion and patriotism. Inflicting strong emotions on an audience is one of the most effective appeals of a work of writing, and Donald Trump accomplishes this through two strong rhetorical devices. In order to unite the country, Donald Trump persuasively uses commonalities such as religion to bring Americans a sense of unity. For example, in lines 93-95, he states “The Bible tells us, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity’”. Trump uses a quote from the Bible to show that God wants us to live together in unity because unity can lead to success and cohesiveness among the people. Religion is often something people hold dear to their heart and it influences their lives and decisions greatly; therefore, through the use of the Bible and religion, Trump creates a strong

A good president is someone who takes quick action whenever problems threaten the nation, addresses key issues using his or her platform, and is knowledgeable about government. Donald Trump’s campaign is serious. He built a complete voter base, does not mind being insulted by the media, and, to appeal to more voters, wrote a book titled Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again. The book successfully details his outline for how he will fix America using certain nuts and bolts. The idea of writing a book for conservative, politically active American voters makes sense, as it allows them to study the candidate’s political ideologies in depth without bias on how to interpret them from mass media. Each chapter’s introduction talks about a separate political problem, with the rest of the chapter left to describe how or why the introduction makes sense. Although his explanations may not make sense to the majority of liberals, he still manages to develop logos, in terms of the book, throughout the chapters.
On January 30, 2018 President Donald Trump was applauded as he made his way down the United States Capitol. In the beginning of President Trump's speech he urged both parties, the republicans and democrats, to have an open mind in order to present unity as a nation to the citizens. President Trump wanted to clarify up front “The state of the Union is strong, because our people are strong.” Throughout President Trump’s speech, he addressed many issues present in our nation such as the economic status, immigration, and infrastructure. President Trump also went on a tangent declaring the accomplishments achieved this past year, such as 2.4 million new jobs, lower tax rated for hard working Americans, and trading relationships becoming fair.
One might observe that American society values emotionalism over logical appeal, an observation that both of the presidential candidates have taken advantage of. In order to craft an effective speech, one should balance logical and emotional appeal, each supporting the other. Although Donald Trump’s speech was unbalanced in this area, it has proven to be quite effective. Mr. Trump is attempting to appeal to the audience’s desire for justice, vengeance, and protection, which they believe he will provide should he be elected into office. It is imperative that citizens of the United States take the time to critically analyze and ponder the words the presidential candidates are using. Words are a very powerful weapon; words can be used to both articulate and manipulate thought. In the political sphere specifically, words are often used with the intent of constructing one’s own reputation while also tearing down the opponent. The truth can easily be lost as politicians wage a war of words, which is why one must use discernment when choosing who they want to support. Mr. Trump is very skilled when it comes to capturing the attention of an audience, as the polls might indicate. It seems the amount of time and effort Donald Trump has invested into his reputation has paid
President Donald Trump had quite the inauguration speech, in his speech he seemed to have a lot of say that a lot of Americans needed to say. He very clearly pledged his alligence to us Americans, he did not talk about religon and he foccused on America. We need to focus more on America and seek alliance from other countries. He had said that we need to make America great again. There will always be people who disagree with his point of view but that is to be expected about any politionan.
This past Friday Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of The United States, and through this election race and his actions already as president I believe it is very clear that he will make quite a unique president.
Donald Trump’s win in the recent Presidential campaign is probably one of the greatest paradoxes in the recent political history of the US. On the one hand, he was the candidate unwanted and criticised by everyone, including the Republican Party, which has actually nominated him as the President. On the other hand, his very controversial sayings and ideas has drawn the public attention and public support to him and revived nostalgic feelings of many Americans about traditional American values and return of America to its greatness.

In this paper, one will compare and contrast the path President Trump wants to take us, with

“I will make America great again” – Donald Trump. Donald John Trump is an important person in America today. To many, he is life changing and impacts their lives every day. Trump is widely known for his wealth and fame. Trump is also the head of the country.
One remarkable statement of Donald Trump was his campaign slogan – Make America Great Again. Now really, what does that even mean? Was America a terrible country, now all of a sudden its great? I don’t think that’s the case. I think people that were attracted to this slogan were attracted to it from a peripheral route. It really appealed to their emotions. Perhaps, these are the people who didn’t thrive under the Obama administration, or were jobless. But a simple yet courageous quote like that appeals to their misfortune, and thus makes it an appealing slogan, which is still used till this day. I believe Trump did this to reach out to those voters who were feeling down, and unmotivated, and although I don’t agree with Trump (or either candidate for that matter) I truly believe that he did an amazing job appealing to peoples’ emotions.
Donald Trump’s Inaugural Speech has an upbeat and victorious setting, with a very proud context throughout. All of these things are to be expected, of course, as the man was in the process of becoming the 45th president of the United States after what felt like an election season that would never end. The primary message in President Trump’s speech was that the country was about to change. He claimed that the country was about to go back to the people, rather than stay with the politicians. Donald Trump offers this as an argument, and as we learned in class, we make arguments to inspire change.
In his victory speech he ended it by saying “We’re going to be getting to work immediately for the American people,” as published in the May 10, 2017 edition of Biography by A&E television. On January 20, 2017 Mr. Trump was inaugurated into presidency. In his speech he made it clear we would now “be putting America first,” and in his iconic slogan “we are going to make America great
