Pursuing something new is fun and exciting, especially if the pursuit positively impacts someone else. I am grateful for the opportunity to re-enter grad school, this time at the doctorate level, to realize a dream that I’ve had since the
After reading Sonja Ardoin’s (2014) “the strategic guide to shaping your student affairs career” book, I read a variety of important content that has allowed me to reflect not only in my fieldwork position, as an Advising Assistant for the Puente Program, but also my current status as a graduate student in the Educational Counseling program.
The civil war had many leaders leading the war. Some of them were good and some of them did not do so well at leading. Some of them had well leading skills, some of the were in the military so they had experience, some of them knew how to handle the war and knew when to quit, but some of them did not have any of these leadership skills. Major Robert Anderson was one of these leaders. Because of his leadership skills, military experience, and military strategy, Robert Anderson was a good addition to the war.
Robert G. Simmons is arguably one of the most experienced and intelligent judges Nebraska has ever had on its Supreme Court. With a diversified portfolio, Simmons earned his position as NE Chief Justice. Coming from a family built upon hard-work, Robert is a prime example of some of the better opportunities that awaited western migrants and their families. Robert Simmons’ Midwestern ideals helped him become a hard-working individual who emphasized the fundamental understanding of efficient government structure, and who also encouraged civic duties, values and responsibilities under the philosophy of law, religion, and freedom for future generations. He knew the state well and sought to ensure that it had a say in national
You can rest a sure that whatever I give him to get done; he goes above and beyond all measures to get it completed. He works constantly and through his dedication and hard work, this company is in a better place every day due to his efforts. There have been days that I’ve tried to get contact Leonard here at the office and could not, then I walk up front and find him staying in the rain, heat, etc. helping a patient get in or out of their vehicle or even carrying our own equipment out to patient’s so they were able to even get in the store. Not only does he show compassion to his patient’s but also to his fellow employees. My grandmother was a long time patient of ours here at Liberty and when she passed away in October, he was one of the ones that I remembered that attend her funeral and let me and my family know, he

As many of you may know, Mount St. Mary’s University has gone through transformative changes. Many of these changes have challenged the very structure of the university we applied to. President Simon Newman and his administration have taken strides to encourage the Mount community to respect the coming changes. We are told that these changes are necessary for the Mount to become “Mount 2.0.” Though we recognize that change is demanding and testing, we also understand that change is crucial for growth. Amongst these changes that are happening, the Mount is in search for a new Dean of Students. To our astonishment, the current Interim Dean of Students, Ken McVearry, is not being considered for the search. Dean McVearry not only assumed the position

The Dean of Academic Affairs will “exemplify the curiosity, inquiry skills, and scholarly competencies need to investigate an idea and transform it into meaningful action” (Drexel University EdD Keystone 5, 2017). The plan will met be with resistance because so many at
I would be very wary of a business professional that presented so many problems in such a short time predominantly in the fundamental area of communication. McRae’s team members tried to overrule Ludmilla’s efforts to bring back culturist aspects and were very insensitive in
Mr. Davit Shanto and I have worked closely together for the past year and a half. During that timespan, Davit has been a self-starter and an industrious contributor to the team endeavors. In addition to having an extraordinary degree of integrity and that type of person that brings out the best in those around him; he is one of those unique character who can both follow directions and take the leadership role, as appropriate. He is one of those individuals where I depended on him if I asked him or put him on projects, that either the task or project will be done by a certain deadline. He is strong in time management and his competence extends above and beyond the skills for which he was initially hired.
James MacGregor Burns said it best, “Leadership is leaders inducing followers to act for certain goals that represent the values and the motivations-the wants and needs, the aspirations and expectations-of both leaders and followers. And the genius of leadership lies in the manner in which leaders see and act on their own and their fellow 's values and motivations”. As one reads this statement, one naturally reflects on personal leader experiences or ones learned through academic or professional studies. Abraham Lincoln, especially during his presidency, exemplified Burns definition of a leader.
He was a good manager but not a leader as he was exceptional planner and controller but was unable to have a good relationship with the team members. All of us never felt motivated by him to work.
