Introduction DRAGON is a Chinese company ranked as the world’s second largest entertainment corporation. During this negotiation, Andy will be the senior manager responsible for permits issues, Kristine will have the role of financial manager responsible for financial demands, Linh will be the marketing manager responsible for press release issues and finally Laetitia will be the international manager responsible for issues regarding visas. Our goal is to find solutions concerning the main issues. Moreover, we would like to keep good relationships with the Mayors because they could influence the project’s construction and the image of DRAGON World. Interests, Issues and Positions There are four issues which will be discussed during this negotiation: Press Release, Financial Demands, Permits and Visas. Firstly, the Mayors have made many serious complaints about the DRAGON World to the public, which creates negative press for the company and the DRAGON World Project. The interests of the company are to clarify to the Mayors that it is an honour for the area to be selected for this project, and it is a fair treat for both parties. The solution on this issue is to indicate that the project makes the property values increase and lowers the unemployment rate. Secondly, the Mayors recommend that DRAGON should pay, not only Payroll Tax, but also Annual Payment. Additionally, the access to the Theme Park will be blocked as a part of the local farmers’ protest. The company’s
Negotiation is a fundamental form of dispute resolution involving two or more parties (Michelle, M.2003). Negotiations can also take place in order to avoid any future disputes. It can be either an interpersonal or inter-group process. Negotiations can occur at international or corporate level and also at a personal level. Negotiations often involve give and take acknowledging that there is interdependence between the disputants to some extent to achieve the goal. This means that negotiations only arise when the goals cannot be achieved independently (Lewicki and Saunders et al., 1997). Interdependence means the both parties can influence the outcome for the other party and vice versa. The negotiations can be win-lose or win-win in nature.

On June 1st, a turnout of over 130 protesters showed up at the footstep of that building. After the five-hour hearing, the county planning board recommended county commissioners reject the plan when it comes before them. The issue has been deterred and there is no need for alarm, for now. However, there may be a time in which corporations show up again and threaten sites of exploration and serenity. It is important to pay close attention to local issues in order to act on, or else the risk of losing beautiful land of Florida to corrupt and discerned individuals will
Negotiation is one of the most common approaches used to make decisions and manage disputes. It is also the major building block for many other alternative dispute resolution procedures. According to Christopher W (2012), negotiation is the principal way that people redefine an old relationship that is not working to their satisfaction or establish a new relationship where none existed before. Because negotiation is such a common problem-solving process, it is in everyone 's interest to become familiar with negotiating dynamics and skills. This section is designed to identify what worked well and not well in the negotiation. I began my preparation for this negotiation by reading the section in the textbook, The Pakistani Prunes, on page 498. Although this did not give me any additional information on the negotiation itself, it did make me aware of the main idea of this negotiation which was “work together in cooperation.” When I realized this negotiation was based on collaboration, I studied article 1.8, Implementing a Collaborative Strategy, more in depth. I took notes on points that I would be able to use during the negotiation. Then I made a list of possible questions that I could ask at the very start of the negotiation and the specific steps to a
A multi-party negotiation is when there are more than two parties at the negotiation table. Thus the bargaining is on behalf of themselves or others which creates many opportunities to generate value. As the number of people around the table increases, so does the potential to make wise trade-offs across multiple. But group negotiations are highly complex [1]. It is much easier for a negotiation to take place between only two-party though there may certain obstacles to occur but it is more likely that an agreement can be reached, unlike with a multi-party negotiation which is more complex. It is important that one doesn’t overlook the differences that exist between two-party and multiparty negotiations. The key difference is that as soon as

After Eisner invested tens of millions of dollars to update and expand attractions and park facilities, Disney recovered its investment with attendance-building strategies. By creating a range of complementary services and entertainment at the park, customers stayed longer and spent more money. A plan was also put in place to develop Disney’s unused acreage and further maximize the profitability of these assets. One result of the above measures was that attendance at Tokyo Disneyland increased by 50% from 10.2m in 1983 to 15.8m in 1991.
Since 2005, the CEO baton was passed along for the 6th time to the company’s COO since 2000, Robert Iger. Iger has a long history within the larger framework of Disney’s enterprises, namely through ABC studio and cable network channels (Management 2009). Iger – as CEO of Disney – has focused on reconciling problematic dissension among the board of directors, especially the current Roy Disney, who, at one time, campaigned against Disney itself. Since then, the company has restructured certain key areas in management to regain investor confidence and internal affairs. Most recently, Disney announced its fiscal year and fourth quarter financial results via webcast (Corporate 2009).
Negtiation is a strategic process of reconciling differences in interest and coming to a mutual resolution through cooperation that is percieved fair for both of involved parties (Fells 2012).
