It is evident that Schulich Leaders are individuals who possess the ability to leave an impressionable impact on their school and beyond. Throughout my educational pathway, I have consistently dedicated my time and effort for the greater good of my fellow students, staff, and community members. I have always been naturally inclined to lead individuals, as it gives me the opportunity to express and develop my capabilities as an exemplary role model. Particularly, I demonstrate these characteristics through a variety of extracurricular activities and clubs, where my tendency to propose, carry out, and offer insight on the issues at hand never goes unnoticed. Due to the fact that I am a diligent and thoughtful individual who never rests until my endeavours materialize lends to the notion that I will undoubtedly make an outstanding Schulich Leader.
I have always known I love change, but from this class, I learned change is the hallmark of a leader. As John C. Maxwell says in The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, “Growth = Change.”The leadership assessments allowed me to understand myself in a new way. Because I am a curious green thinker, I need explanations and answers to understand my world. I tend to see the big picture of a project and my mind motivates me toward something new or improved. I am curious about new opportunities because I easily become bored with routine. Learning I have these characteristics has increased my confidence to pursue future leadership roles in a small to a mid-sized position.

As a senior about to embark on the next journey of my life I hold myself to an extremely high standard. I strive for excellence and being an example for others. For me, ideas to take from Simon’s lecture is a challenge. I truly do not see myself being a leader. I feel intimidated by others for their lack of support. I do not try to lead when asked to do something. I have the same mentality as Capt. William, I just do it because I want to ‘do to others as they would do to you’. It was difficult with the Organizational Behavior course team. At first the online thing was great. Age factor did not matter. We are all on the same page. But as time went on, I did not feel the cohesiveness of a team as I would like. Our communication styles seemed

One of the biggest lessons learned from this course is that to be an effective leader, you must have a diverse skillset. I’m not sure if there is any one magical component or characteristic in being a great leader. One influence during my review of the literature was that; although easier for some, I see leadership as something we must continually improve upon. This is in contrast to my belief during my first day of class, when I thought leaders just
One may look to the future with uncertainty, however, one can look to the past for answers. Throughout history and society progression, one can see there is a growing need for leaders. Whether starting a new company or pursuing an interest in the army, the growing need for leaders in our society is prevalent and JROTC sheds light upon developing leaders through the past, present, and future.
This level measures the participants’ overall satisfaction. Reaction was assessed through an evaluation form provided at the end of each class session. The results were overwhelmingly positive: 99% of the participants would recommend the classes to a colleague, and 99% of the participants agreed that both the classes and instructor(s) were effective. This metric is representative of the 2015 Emerging Leaders Program participants who completed an evaluation at the end of each class, and is a weighted average of all six classes.
Leadership and come to mean different things to different people. One of the biggest reasons that I took this class was to become a stronger leader in my personal life, as well as professional. I did not take this class because I have a desire to me in management at this point in my career. What is important to me was to look at this way to be a better employee, in reacting to management styles. I also wanted to take different aspects of management and implement them into being a leader in my family. I have had several managers that I have respected during my career and certain attributes I wanted to emulate. My current manger David Taggerty took the time out to discuss his role as a leader and how he got into leadership. We took a look
Before this class, I had a very primitive and vague definition of leadership. Not only did I define it as per my views and ideologies, but I also said that each individual has their own definition of leadership. My initial belief was that leadership does not have a clear cut definition, but there were well defined leadership traits which made an individual. I also initially believed that personal traits did not translate into leadership traits with no strong correlation. After going through the various modules this class offered, it is safe to say that I have significantly redefined leadership and underwent a strong personal assessment. This paper talks what I took back from each of the class activities, assignments and how my self-assessment compares to the perception of others.
This well educated man’s whole view on the way he’s matured since day one of college, are the ways he’s learned leadership skills. He’s realized that to lead, you must not discipline, but teach to be disciplined. In his opinion, all four years of college were necessary for him to be the best leader he can possibly be. His current main focus, is to not let his team down. And to make sure all his workers are depending on him for anything, and everything.
