I have developed college-level knowledge in Purchasing Administration through my professional experience working in the Maintenance of Equipment department of Metro-North railroad as a business analyst worked closely with the procurement and materials management group of the railroad on matters of inventory usage and material shortage controls. The study of Purchasing Administration involves an introduction to inventory forecasting, the administration of procurement requests, the solicitation and evaluation of supplier proposals, procurement contract execution, logistics management, and legal and environmental issues affecting purchasing.
In order to meet federal regulations for the safe operation of locomotives, regularly scheduled inspections are performed on a three month, annual and five year period so that safety devices on the equipment can inspected and replaced before their expected end of service life. This means that a constant flow of inventory material must be available for these scheduled replacements and it is important that the forecast of inventory levels prevent material from being unavailable during these inspections. The process of inventory forecasting has to take into account the expected level of scheduled activity along with the lead time for procuring material from its time of requisition to the arrival of the material. 3. What were some of the best lessons you learned from your experience as a frontline manager?
The company that I chose to do my presentation on is Maurices Store. I worked in retail as a manager for 12 years at the former County Seat and one of my assistants is still working retail as a manager at Maurices here in Dubuque. I was interested in choosing retail sales because it is where I started and I wanted to see how it has changed over the years.
A person with the right personality and attitude can influence other 's, and I feel I 'm a great example of that. My personal ambition to reach new heights has also motivated me to apply for the staff position on Skyblocky.
