ABSTRACT

This analysis gives in detail the background, including age and gender of the patient in the evaluation. The details are that the treatment plan must be a clear and concise method to help the patient cope with her significant events. The underlying treatment and diagnosis for this patient are confirmed and may be requested for further treatment and examination. Diagnosis at this time is Major Depressive Disorder, Axis-IV as so stated in DSM-IV.

Jennifer Diggs is a twenty six year old African American female soldier. She was raised in a single parent house hold along with her three siblings. Her parents divorced when she was about twelve …show more content…

She was fidgeting during our session, seemed to be very restless, and she has a slight slur in her words. Jennifer says she has also become very emotional in the past year. She has stated that whenever she is around a large group of people, like at the grocery store, she becomes vey nervous, and sometimes break out in sweats. There has been a change in her weight. Jennifer was one-hundred and thirty-five pounds and she has gained and extra forty pounds, because she eats all day. She doesn’t feel like harming herself or others. The patient suffers from Major Depressive Disorder.The best treatment plan for this patient is to receive group therapy as well as individual help. The group therapy may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that focuses on thoughts and behoviors, Interpersonal Therapy which focuses on other’s roles in your life, whether or not an individual is part of your problems, and her interpretations of other’s interactions. Psychodynamic Therapy that focuses on traumatic events that may play an intrique role in your behavior. I have prescribed some antidepressants. I would like to discontinue the Electroconvulsive Therapy. There will be more sessions with the patient for further evaluation. The patient is to return in two weeks for another evaluation to determine of she needs further treatment or to discontinue other treatments that are set forth her in this
