1. In order to be able to function to the best of my ability I must from time to time take stock of myself through a self-assessment. This is so that I can accentuate the positive aspects of myself, and also to correct any deficiencies that maybe an issue.
2. The four chief areas of this assessment are 1. Academics, 2. Physical Training, 3. Leadership skills and 4. Teamwork. These areas are the main focus of my life as it stands currently and provide the some of my greatest strengths as well as my weaknesses. a. Academics are currently a main focus in life, and as such I feel that have always had a passion for learning and education. My time here at Texas A&M has been academically rigorous, and while I have completed my task successfully

Leadership is a strength I believe I have, however it is not the typical “In your face, hard charging style” I prefer to lead calmly and through delegation. I train my subordinates to operate within the intent of the assigned mission and then give them the flexibility to execute the task. I feel this promotes initiative at every level and also buying in form those under me into the mission. However, I have noticed draw backs to this approach, I sometimes am not forceful when my subordinates are lacking their assigned task. While I do not wish to loses my strength I do need to grow myself in being more direct so that when the appropriate forceful direction occurs I am able to do …show more content…
Continuing Strengths: For academics I believe the best way to keep my strengths is to continue the devotion I towards reading and self-development in a multitude of disciplines. I must continue to never give up at physical training and always continue to better myself in diet and exercise whenever possible. For leadership, I believe my leadership roles in the Corps as well as other organizations will help to grow as a leader in the areas I am strong in regards to mission command and keep initiative. In continually strengthen teamwork skills my role on the Army ROTC “Tiger Team” allows me to full serve in team that I feel I can really use my strength in communication and critical think to better serve the
For instance the strength of being restorative has shown me that I need to work on not trying to control every situation and solve every problem someone has. I need to let them figure out how to solve their problems and just be a sounding board for them when they need it. Being a mom it is hard to not just jump in every time my boys face a difficult situation and just solve it for them. They are young men now and I realize that I need to take a back seat and let them figure out where their life’s road will take them and to be there to listen and help as they ask me. Hard, yes, but a necessity. By doing the assessment and finding out what my top three strengths are I can use them to in the best way possible to achieve the goals I have for my life both personally and professionally. I realize that being deliberative, my belief system and being restorative are my strengths and not weaknesses and I can now capitalize on those strengths at work and
Personally, self-examination is an integral part of my life, without self-examination a looping process of failure occurs. I cannot grow without self-examination. I love growth, as a human being I believe that it is the most important part to becoming a contributor to society and compassionate individual. I cannot fully understand my mistakes without examining them first,
The areas of productiveness in this session for me included the paraphrasing and minimal encouragers. Throughout this session I felt that my paraphrasing was clear and concise. It allowed the client to think about what he had said, while being able to provide me with feedback and allowed for the conversation to flow naturally.
I chose to base my studies on J because we shared a lot in common; we are both Christians living in a predominantly Muslim country. He is eleven years old. His parents are Jordan nationals who have lived in Bahrain for at least two years. J goes to school at Naseem International School where I work. The school offers PYP programs. Lessons are conducted in English; however, Arabic lessons are also offered per week. Majority of kids in this school are Muslims most of whom are Bahrainis. Other nationalities making the student population are Saudis, Lebanese, Jordanians, few South Africans, and other Arabian Gulf countries. Teachers are a mixture of nationalities. Some of them are Arabs, others South Africans, while some are Europeans.
A self-assessment through self-awareness is key for one to understand his own strengths and weaknesses. Only after conducting it, can he settle goals and objectives in order to take any corrective action. This is
My greatest strength is my motivation to take on challenging tasks that help me step out of my comfort zone. In High school, I was in JROTC and took on the responsibility of taking two leadership roles as the Battalion Adjutant and Color Guard Commander. As the Battalion Adjutant, I was in charge of processing cadet’s records and administrative data. I ensured that all necessary paperwork was properly completed in a timely manner to make our events successful. As the Color Guard Commander, I led and mentored a group of 8 students and taught them basic drill movements. We presented the colors at various events such as football games and special ceremonies. Through my 2 years of experience in these positions, I learned how to take the initiative
Case Report: Reflective Analysis Beliefs and worldviews are important aspects in life since they provide guidance in making decision, and how we interact with our environment. All humans are capable and have the ability to make choices in life. These choices can be changed or influenced by our worldviews and beliefs (Valk, 2010). In this paper, I will discuss my central belief about the individual person, personal worldview and how it influences my approach to patients, discuss what constitutes the environment, how do individual and environment interact, and personal view of health and how does illness relate to health, and discuss the central reason for the existence of nursing.
Starting my journey through college again was a big decision for me. Being a single parent of two children, a homeowner, and holding a stressful, full-time job left me with little free time. However, I longed to reinvent myself and find a way to advance my career. Meeting personal goals to further my education outweighed the guilt I felt, as my children were not young any longer. I decided to make advancing my education a top priority. Discovering that when I have a goal my follow through is definite, but it is not always easy. What I overlooked as I headed down the path to fulfill my educational goal, was that stress has real health consequences.

After completing the occupational self-assessment, I was able to identify some of my strengths and weaknesses. One performance item that was a strength for me was having a satisfying routine. I answered this skill as being able to perform this extremely well. I responded this way because one of my positive qualities is being able to plan what I want to do in my life and when. I have strong time-management skills and I am able to create a routine every day that satisfies my wants and needs. I rated this item as most important because my happiness and well-being is at its optimum when the activities I do each day express my character.
In 2013, an estimated 24.6 million Americans aged twelve or older (9.4% of the population) had used an illicit drug in the past month (NIDA, 2015). In 2016, about 3.6 million adults aged 18 or older received any substance use treatment in the past year, representing 1.5 percent of adults (SAMHSA, 2017). These numbers are not even taking into account any type of behavior addiction such as shopping, gambling, social media, etc. Strong of these numbers, as counselors we can see the importance to gain knowledge about drug and behavior addiction and its process. In order to have a better understanding of the process of change, we have been assigned to abstain from a substance or a behavior for a period of 15 weeks and to reflect about it.
Being evaluated can be a scary procedure. Needlessly to say it can be even scarier to self-evaluate oneself. However, depending on the outlook of the self-evaluator, the evaluation of one’s own self can be enlightening, educational and a chance to grow. However, on the other hand, self-assessment of one’s own self can be a daunting process that leads to denial that there is a need for improvement.
As humans we have the rights to have access to health care. This means that every individual should be able to receive the highest possible standard of mental and physical health care. For instance, housing/ shelter, medical services, sanitation, safe working condition, and clean environment. Unfortunately, there are many people that go without proper health care, due to the judgements that are made based on which populations and which individuals can have access to drugs, and who will be vulnerable to ill health. However, access to health care is an issue, there are more than one factor that influences health, social, economic, and environmental. In addition, one can come to understand health by viewing it through the perspective of human rights. A justice based approach to health, and humans rights as a framework for health development. With this framework health policies, and programs will be created with human rights as
Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer.
During the course of the quarter, I feel that I have progressed somewhat. I've gained a lot of knowledge on rhetorical strategies and how to present arguments effectively. In the writings I have written, I feel that each writing works towards meeting the course goals. Logos, ethos, and pathos were strategies and ideas we were introduced to (if not already in the past) and were built upon throughout the quarter. The knowledge gained over the course of the quarter weren't only those three types of appeals. Rhetorical strategies like proposals helped reinforce the course and using rhetorical analysis in different situations have become easier throughout the quarter. I believe that I have made sufficient progress towards becoming a better
