According to the article “State Policies on Sex Education in Schools” only 15% of states offer sex education. That’s approximately 8 out of 50 states that offer this course. And within those states there are only few high schools who offer these classes. Just like math, science, social studies, and reading, sexual education can benefit students outside the classroom as well. For example learning math can help a student count money when they purchase items, science can help in identifying chemicals when needed, social studies teaches students about history and how things were made, and reading teaches students how to speak, read and write correctly. Sexual Education is an instructive class or course that teaches students about human sexuality, including emotional and physical relations and responsibilities, human anatomy, sexual activity, sexual reproduction, reproductive health and rights, safe sex, birth control and other medications, STD’s and sexual abstinence, which is obviously important to life, more specifically the body.
