Life at home as a child was pretty mundane and Mccaffrey said that she “couldn’t really remember much of her childhood.” School though was a another matter. Throughout her academic life up until a few years ago, her classmates used to bully her about her weight and believe it or not her personality. Around 1903 when my parent's died to survive, my brother, Andrew, and I began to perform a musical act on the streets of Chattanooga. I sang and my brother accompanied me on the guitar, often in front of the White Elephant Saloon. In 1912, when Clarence my older brother returned to Chattanooga, he persuaded the managers of his troupe, Lonnie and Cora Fisher, to give me an audition. Consequently, I was hired as a dancer with the Moses Stokes Company, to perform in a show that included the Mother of the Blues, Ma Rainey. Intriguing rumors surround our meeting—legend has it that Ma Rainey literally kidnapped me, that she and her husband forced me to tour with their show, teaching me in the process how to sing the blues. When people think of Oklahoma, they usually think about flatlands and waving wheat. The thought of terrorism would never come into mind. This is exactly what the people of Oklahoma City would’ve been thinking if asked about terrorism. Sadly, on the day of April 19, 1995, Oklahoma and the nation was shocked as the unthinkable happened. The rest of the world stood still, and watched as people were rushed from the building. Families received information about their loved ones, and soon learned that they were no longer living. Parents were also sickened by the fact that their children would never be able to go to daycare again. As for the man in charge of this operation, his slow but authorized death was watched by families and friends of the victims. The rest of the nation should’ve been able to view this great punishment along with the families who were affected.

If the river is famous to the fish, McClurg is famous (perhaps infamous) to the liver. “Meet me at McClurg,” or “I’ve been McClurged”... there are a lot of associations with the dining hall, but the last thing anyone seems to think of is C. V. McClurg, for whom the caf was named. When you Google “C.V. McClurg: images” you get some pictures of desks, a book by someone named Emma McClurg, and a picture of Ferris Bueller. So who was the elusive Mr. McClurg?”
