Shoes For Little Girls Essay

Navy blue with silver eyelets, no laces, a white toe cap, and a black racing stripe. What could be so special about a shoe? To a child, shoes are just something that you sport until your feet bust out of them, or until you wear holes into them. I was eight years old when my feet stopped growing, when I got my first pair of converse, and when my shoe obsession began. The first place I took my Converse was on the third grade trip to Camp Mary Orton. I was nervous about going somewhere new for an entire week, but my fresh-out-of-the-box shoes gave me the confidence to do anything. The muddy earth no longer daunted me and the idea of climbing a wooden pole named after a diaper company (the Pamper Pole) did not shake me. The thought of failing to scale a rock wall could not phase the confidence that my new shoes provided. If the shoes could walk me through the halls of the school, perfectly matching the plaid of my jumper, then I could handle whatever challenges camp threw at me.

The first example picture of her products are her famous ballet flats, which are made out of soft Napa leather, with a slip rubber sole for flexibility, a refined stitch and turn construction, and it folds to it’s a fit in a handbag.

In the novella, “The House on Mango Street,” by Sandra Cisneros, the symbol of shoes represents how attractive you are and how you are portrayed by society. For example, “It’s Rachel who learns to walk the best all strutted in those magic high heels. She teaches us to cross and uncross our legs, and to run like a double dutch rope, and how to walk down to the corner so that the shoes talk back to you.” (pg. 40). This quote shows how Esperanza and her friends want to act very mature and lady like, and how the shoes play a huge role in this.

In, "The Family of Little Feet," Esperanza, Lucy, and Rachel wear the fancy shoes intended for women and they are excited to be experiencing what it feels like to dress in a grown up way. They walk around the streets in a very seductive way, which includes crossing their legs, and they are naive to the dangers of this. Some people realize the danger they are in and ask where they got the shoes and others call attention to themselves by complimenting the girls. Mr. Benny who works at the corner grocery store realizes that they could be potentially harmed and says, "Them are dangerous. You girls too young to be wearing shoes like that" (Cisneros 41).

Athletic footwear cannot be designed to cater to a large group as in general. It has to produceits products with a distinct difference keeping in mind the age groups or usage groups it isintending to target.

In many shops, there seems to be an obvious separation between boys and girls items, for example, the birthday cards, books, clothes, and toys. This is shown in a variety of ways the boy's items are mainly the color blue and the books have pictures of either action figures, superheroes or tools. Whereas the girl's items are mainly the color pink. The books show pictures of fairies, princess, and Bratz. The cards also have the theme of the color pink for girls and blue for boys. The girl's cards have a lot of sparkles and pretty pictures whereas the boy's cards are covered in camo kind of illustrations and also have action figures on the covers. The children's clothes are separated into sections where there are labels for the boy's clothes and labels for the girl's clothes. The girl's clothing is all pretty and pink, it is covered in sparkles. Whereas boys clothing has camo patterns, blue colors, and pictures of action figures.

The first few times you see shoes mentioned is irrelevant, but once you get to the chapter “The Family of Little Feet,” shoes begin to take on a meaning. A woman came up to Esperanza and her friends Rachel and Lucy, offering a bag of shoes which were said to be “one pair of lemon shoes and one red and one pair of dancing shoes that used to be white but were now pale blue” (40). The girls were excited by the shoes, made clear by the line “Hurray! Today we are Cinderella because our feet fit exactly” (40). They even go as far to describe them as “magic high heels” (40) while they were learning to walk in them. Soon, however, this innocence and joy get tainted once the girls go walking in the shoes, first having Mr. Benny, the grocer, say, “Them are dangerous. You girls too young to be wearing shoes like that” (41). But this didn’t faze the girls, and they continued walking. They enjoyed the attention they were getting, Esperanza even saying, “these are the best shoes. We will never go back to wearing the other

In The House On Mango Street , by Sandra Cisneros the symbol shoes are relevant. For example, “The old saddle shoes I wear to school, brown and white, the kind I get every September,”(pg. 47 Cisneros). This shows Esperanza is wearing a new dress, new underclothes, new socks, but the old saddle shoes. This also shows Esperanza is being laughed at for wearing old shoes, but new clothes. Another example, “I want to buy shoes just like yours, like your black ones made out of suede,”( pg. 82 Cisneros). This shows Esperanza wants to a black pair just like her mom. She wants something she cannot have so she decides to ask when she is in a better mood.

It all started with a Jumpman and a swoosh, it was more than just a shoe it was the start of a culture. What most people look at as just a shoe to protect their feet has a story behind it and a deeper meaning to me and many others than “just a pair of shoes”. Don’t put on a pair of shoes unless you know how to wear them right. For every pair I own I could explain the troubles I went through and the people I met to get each sneaker. The best feeling was opening that fresh shoe box and taking out that paper wrapping. Putting on each new pair of sneakers is like taking a breath of fresh air each pair crisp as bacon. I am one among many sneakerheads, people who love to buy, sell, trade, and collect rare shoes. There is a culture, lifestyle, and history behind sneaker collecting. Most people would think dropping hundreds if not thousands on a pair of shoes is crazy but I believe sneakers are essential.

Many people like shoes that are comfortable. Here are two examples of shoes that fall under that qualification. Crocs and Skechers are two comfortable shoes that most people adore. But which one is better that’s for you to choose.

Christmas is just around the corner. Time of the year to visit friends and relatives. It is also time to give and receive. There are many gifts to share but make someone's Christmas season this time a memorable one by giving them a new pair of new shoes. This person could be your mom, spouse, daughter or even a lady friend. Different types of shoes come with various designs. The prices also vary. Although different people have different tastes for shoes, the following three types of shoes will catch the attention of majority if not all Though expensive, they are the best gifts to give this season.

While the knowledge that many amenities that are expected in America are not remotely available in some regions of Africa is common, shoes usually do not top that list. While many American cities institute laws requiring those in public to wear shoes, some African villages find the concept of footwear foreign. The problem of shoelessness extends beyond just comfort, as foot injuries spread disease, create life long disabilities, and reduce the quality of living for many children. Giving shoes to these children, then, seems like a fitting answer to a desperate situation. Companies built upon that answer such as TOMS shoes, however, end up contributing to impoverished conditions that drive shoelessness rather than reducing it in the long run.

We have done numerous Monday Memoirs throughout the year. However, only a couple of my Monday Memoirs stood out to me while I was looking for one to reflect on. Out of the countless Monday Memoirs, my most effective one was the “Shoe Story” that I completed in marking period one. The prompt that I chose during that week is “write a first person account of a day in the life of a shoe worn by anyone.”

Height and shoe size have a positive relationship but there can still be outliers (Slack). The average height to foot ratio in a person is 6.6:1 (Tremblay). Toes are used to help with balance and feet help give us a base for support when walking or standing. The taller the person the stronger or bigger the base they will need (Tremblay). This supports that the taller the person the bigger the foot or shoe size would need to be. When looking at a kid’s foot size you can see how tall your child could be. When kids start growing out of their shoes quickly it can be a sign of a growth spurt that is coming up. For girls their feet will grow a year before a growth spurt during puberty (Tremblay).
