Imagine yourself being medically tested and abused constantly. Isn’t that a horrible thing? That’s what animals go through almost everyday. Animal medical research and animal testing has been going on for years and years and needs to be stopped immediately. They have lives just like us and are being treated like their nothing. Animals should not be used for product or medical research.
To begin with, the behaviors of animals has become violent because of animal research. A 2013 poll showed that two thirds of respondents oppose testing cosmetics and other consumer products on animals. (“Is animal testing morally justified” page 14) That shows that most respondents don’t want animal research. The stress, sterility and boredom causes some animals animals to develop neurotic behaviors such incessantly spinning in circles, rocking back and forth and even pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin. (“Is animal testing morally justified” page 1) That piece of info shows that research and testing can affect animal behavior. They shake and cower in fear whenever someone walks past their cages and their blood pressure spikes drastically. (“Is animal testing morally justified” page 1) Research and cosmetics can really affect an animal in a very bad way.
Also, the animal research have affected the health of the animals. More than 100 million animals every year suffer and die in cruel chemical, drug, food and cosmetics. (“Is animal testing morally justified” page 1) Animals
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
Animals have been tested for ever. They use to not have rights. Back in the day animals that are put into testing are not given rights. They are forced to do things that they don’t want to do forced to do something that will make them injured. A pro on animal testing is nearly 90% of scientist in medical lads believed that animals research Is necessary. Some scientists that work with animals don’t always work on the body they work on the mind
Over 26 million animals are experimented on each year in the United States. Animals are very different from human beings, Medicine that cures mice or rats, sometimes can cause death or diseases to humans. Although products tested on animals are generally safe, it can be a horrible thing to everyone. Animal testing is cruel because it harms and/or possibly kills animals, merchandise that is experimented on animals may have damaging side effects on their health, and it interferes with their growth and development
Everyday animals are being locked up in cages and are being tested on. Animals in laboratories do not provide reliable results in human beings, and are going through cruel and inhumane tests. There are also alternative methods that replace the need for the animals. Testing animals has contributed to many life savings cures and treatments, along with animals themselves benefiting from the results of the testing. Animals are also similar to humans in many ways and are appropriate test subjects. Animal testing needs to stop because every year 100 million animals die. The animals have no say in this treatment being done to them. Animals cannot be tested in a variety of human procedures despite what the benefits are.
For example, some cosmetic lines support animal testing for their products. Also, many animals feel very alone, isolated, and cant control on what goes on in their lives. Animal testing in America is very outdated but yet, it is very common. Once done with the chemical testing animals are eventually killed (humainesociety.org). In addition, different species usually react differently depending on what is being tested on them. Although, some chemicals don’t usually harm humans but still severely harm animals. Many species of animals suffer horrendously (humainesociety.org). Furthermore, most people don’t understand what "Animal rights" are about and they do not respect animal rights. Many people understand that humans are the only ones who should have rights, so people take advantage of them and whenever they are being tested, scientists usually infect animals with diseases they do not normally
Therefore, animals should not be used for animal research. Animals suffer emotionally experimenters waste their lives when they do nothing and they do not even improve human health. Society should get rid of animal testings because people are basically murdering these animals. They did nothing to anyone, but yet they kill them for no reason. Researchers waste their money and time on “finding cures” but yet they are killing others’ lives while they are at it. Society must figure out another way to research medical testings on
Around 17 to 22 million animals are being tested for harmful products a year. They are having to go through physical pain by being cut up, poisoned, burned, irradiated, gassed, shocked, dismembered or genetically designed to suffer. Animals are being forced to have to go through so much pain trying out the products you use today and then having to be trapped in cages for the rest of their lives just because they might of not had a home. They are being abused for the scientists experiments. In 2017 studies found that most of the data they gathered was false, and wasting the animals lives. According to the article from procon.com¨Since the majority of animals used in biomedical research are killed during or after the experiments, and since many suffer during the studies, the lives and wellbeing of animals are routinely sacrificed for poor research.¨
Animals for centuries have been victims of a horrible case of cruelty with the criminals being humans. Millions of animals are used in experiments each year to test for possible side effects that could happen in humans while using the product. This causes some issues because humans and animals are not exactly the same so they can react differently to some products which leads to the pointless deaths of thousands of animals each year. Animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings 94 percent of drugs that pass animal tests fail in human clinical trials. Animals for medical experimentation can be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged. The government did release a set of laws to protect animals from testing, but around 95 percent of animals used for testing are not covered including mice, fish and birds.
Imagine being tortured, poisoned, and burned and not being able to do anything about it. This is done to you every single day until you’re dead or not useful anymore. If you are lucky enough you will just be left with scars, eye infections and your skin burned off. This is what animals experience when they are being test on. Animal testing consist of animal experimentation, research, and in vivo testing. It is used to see what will occur to human skin or eyes when the use a certain product, what will occur when they take a certain medicine or for basic biology research. Animal testing is cruel and harming towards animals, millions of them are being used every year. These animals are being water deprived, forced fed, and go through long trials
Everyday animals are kept captive in small cages, treated poorly, and experimented on all for the benefit of humans. At the same time, billions of animals are killed each year for food, again for the advantage of humans. Animal testing can be an effective tool for biomedicine research, but many of these animals are experimented on to test everyday household products like cosmetics and cleaning supplies. Animals are not capable of speaking for themselves and for researchers to benefit from that is inhuman and wrong. Hundreds of millions of animals including primates, rats, rabbits, and even animals we keep as pets like cats and dogs suffer each year due to testing (Clemmitt). It is not right for us to abuse, experiment on, eat, or wear animals in any way. It is morally wrong to experiment on animals in order to produce safe consumer products and further advance biomedical research because it is damaging to them, can be ineffective in some situations, and there are many alternative solutions to test these products.
Is it really necessary for animals to be used for medical research? This question still remains, yet to be answered. It is a matter of opinion one would think. However if you look closer there is a lot more to it than opinion. People that feel sorry for animals usually are the ones that don’t agree with animal testing. That is where it starts. Scientists use animal testing as a way to find cures. Animal testing helps them figure out what will work and not work on humans. It helps find cures faster and prevent deaths. Although some people believe that is true, I have a different opinion on it all. This testing hasn’t help as many people as you may think.Just because animals are living breathing creatures like humans, doesn't mean their systems are anything like ours. There has been so many tests done on animals to help find cures and medicine that will work on humans. What do we
I think that testing on animals is inadequate. The animals have no way of stopping it and have to suffer pain and even death.
Animals are more then test dummies, they are friends, family or even sometimes considered your sidekick. So why do we experiment on them, aren't their lives just as valuable as ours? Even though animals are appropriate research subjects because they are similar to humans in many ways, testing on animals is wrong, cruel, and inhumane. Innocent creatures are forced or subjected to pain and are put in harm's way, there are better ways to test products that don't involve killing or harming animals.
Since many years, animals have always been one of the reasons for the survival of many human beings. They are used for experimental and medical research for finding new drugs and treatments and for the general advancement of health and medicine. There has been a controversy between animal rights supporters and scientists about the pros and cons to the practice of animal testing and whether it is helpful or it is just wasting the animal lives and there could be alternatives.
Another question now comes to the surface is a continuity/discontinuity argument. What the continuity argument is, is that animals are closely related to humans, they still produce the same emotions. Using animals in psychological experiments poses a serious ethical dilemma in part. In response to the continuity argument would be the discontinuity argument. This argument states that humans are different to other species. What this means is that research on animals provides this limitation on findings in human behavior that are not generalizable. Scientist use their best efforts when conducting experiments to allow animals the safest and most beneficial actions. Scientist always put in the consideration that the animal may be harmed. The American Psychological Association in turn prevents any type of experiment/study that shows any possible distress or harm to the animal.
