COMPARISON BETWEEN RURAL AND URBAN SOCIETY QUESTION: Pakistani society is divided into 2 segments. Draw a comparison of rural and urban way of life. INTRODUCTION Pakistani society is divided into 2 parts which are called rural areas and urban areas. Rural areas are those which are not fully developed and lack basic facilities such as villages and hamlets. Urban areas are those which are fully developed and provide basic facilities as well as luxuries to the people living here such as towns and cities. Being an agricultural society, 80% of the people in Pakistan live in rural areas. The remaining % lives in urban areas. Urban areas completely differ from rural areas in Pakistan. Primary relations of members are strong as compared to the people of urban areas. As people do not meet in gatherings or events and just interact and enjoy within own family. Secondary relations are not very strong. However people do not suffer from psychological issues. STUCTURE Rural areas have a weak infrastructure. They are not fully developed. Houses are not made with strong basis and quality bricks and that’s why living in them makes it very difficult. They lack facilities to ease the living. FACILITIES OF LIFE In rural societies, the cost of living is very low as advanced living is not available. Technology isn’t used or invented at all. There are no educational facilities as well which increase the rate of illiteracy. Roads are not there for convenience of people and these areas are mostly covered with fields, animals, few small huts or houses and greenery. BASIC FACILITIES Food, clothing and housing are not easily available due to low production and low income of people. And so people can’t access them easily. Drainage system is also very poor and even clean water for drinking purposes is not there for the people.
Pakistan with a population of 182,143,000 in 2013, it is one of the most populated countries in the world, but it is also one of the least developed (poverty in Pakistan) (WHO reference). Poverty is a prevalent issue through out Pakistan: “about one quarter of the population lives below poverty line” (Poverty in paki). Pakistani’s living in poverty being less common in the urban areas, and more common in the rural areas with about half of the rural population still under the category of absolute poverty (Poverty in paki). Poverty in Pakistan and throughout the world impacts the population’s ability to live healthy lifestyles. Without the means to acquire adequate nutrition, health care, and services, these people are unable to meet their individual health needs. Due to the link with poverty and health, it has remained priority in almost all national plans of Pakistan (Pakistan poverty).

Yes, there is many crops, vegetables grown with unpolluted air and noise of transportation in the rural areas but there is people with less life expectancy and more life expectancy in urban areas (Health Issues in Rural Canada, 5). The issue could be solved if they receive health care opportunity regularly but studies has shown that there is less physicians in rural areas than urban areas (Health Issues in Rural Canada, 8). In some small rural areas there are no hospitals, so people has to travel to nearest urban area to get hospital facility. The government should divide the health care facilities in specific areas where rural community could also have access to hospitals in emergency conditions (Health Issues in Rural Canada, 17). Based on women’s health issue, she could have many problem than men’s such as birth control, pregnancy, infertility, abortion, and menstruation.
Raw Materials Unavailability: Raw materials are less available or unavailable. It may be gathered from distance sources that incur high expenses. Poor infrastructure for production of product & services: Due to undeveloped mode of every sector , Production infrastructure is not suitable. Markets are not available: Market for products are not available. People want low cost product because they have less sources of income. Customers are less available for good products: High quality products are costly. They are not beared by customers because their purchasing power is low. More dependent families: Less people earn and more people want to consume. It means more people are dependent upon income generating members. Lands are not suitable for agriculture: Lands are mostly barren due to poor irrigation system, mismanagement of water, unavailability of modern agriculture methods application and tools, etc. People depend upon still upon ancient irrigation system. Cheap labors are available: Labors are easily available at low costs but they are mostly unskilled. So they are useless in technical works or in high rated projects.
In Sudan the communities condition is very poor, from the lack of food to the dangers of animals preying on what can soon be you! Over 5.1 million Sudanese people are in need of some type of aid. There are poor architectural conditions such as their homes, which they refer to call them mud huts are one of somethings that can kill them because of the unstableness of the mud huts it can collapse on them while doing simple things such as sleeping or purifying the water that they walked 8 hours for.

The disasters cause poverty because these countries are often weak financially and cannot afford to restore their country after extensive damage. Therefore due to lack of resources the situation gets worse. It affects their inhabitant's lives causing a lack of production leading to being unable to provide for citizens. In turn leading to poverty, as they cannot even provide substances to trade and lose money. Other factors that affect the lives of citizens are lack of clean water and standard education.
First, city life and countryside life are different from population. Although living in the city has many advantages there are some disadvantages too, the cost of the living is very high in the city, the city is always noisy, no fresh air and pure water. So it is hard to lead a healthy life. On other hand the village the undeveloped area for example, we cannot easily get many facilities the insufficient medical and education facilities, few opportunities to make money, little entertainment, no or little public transportation, also less facilities than a big city offers.
