In Skyline Elementary School, there are many individuals that are involved in implementing the reading program. Core instruction begins within the students’ classroom. Throughout the year, the principal observes the teacher’s techniques and style when implementing the school literacy program. Within the classroom, the teacher uses Basal reading programs. Basal is grade leveled textbooks that has an emphasis on phonemic awareness, decoding, and reading for understanding (comprehension). When intervention is needed, tier 2 is implemented. Together as a team, the classroom teacher, title teachers, principal, and literacy coach create a plan. The literacy coach meets with grade level teachers once a week and plan with teachers to help improve
My early reading experiences reflect the history that Vogt and Shearer (2011) describe in the first chapter of Reading Specialists and Literacy Coaches in the Real World. The basal reading programs of the 1970s and 1980s included “leveled readers, phonics activities, and a great deal of comprehension skill practice, usually found on the pages of the accompanying workbooks. The programs also included highly structured, detailed teacher’s guides, with different lesson plans for each of the three instructional groups” (Vogt & Shearer, 2011, p.13).
Eastampton Township has a history that dates back to 1880’s with the invention and production of the “Star” bicycle. The 5.83 square mile township is home to just about 6000 residence with a racial breakdown of approximately 68 percent white, 12 percent black and 20 percent other. The median household income is just above $70,000 and the average dwelling value is $260,000. In regards to educational background, 94 percent of the population over 25 have a high school diploma or higher. Of this age category, 42 percent hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. English is the primarily spoken language; with 82 percent only speak English (US Census, 2010). However, there have been significant changes since the 2010 census. In 2011, the township constructed a low-income housing complex, which provided an increase in the student population. Since 2010, there has also been an addition of a townhome development complex. This year, there are three developments being constructed, two low to moderate income condos and one townhome projected to add over 1,000 residence by 2018.
On December 16, 2016 at approximately 0906 hours, while working as a school resource officer I was contacted by Sanford Police dispatch in reference to a suspicious incident at Goldsboro Elementary School. Hello, I'm Cory Hiebert and I am currently a senior at Halstead High School located in Kansas, United States of America. Being a senior at Halstead has equipped me with many extra opportunities to advance my graphic design as well as marketing and business skills, such as a print shop class, webpage design, and multiple college courses offer through Hutchinson Community College.
New Jersey Public Schools today are so focused on preparing students for college that they are failing to prepare students for life. If one were to read through the ‘Middletown Township Public Schools High School Course Selection Guide 2016-2017’ they would see that Middletown High School North offers classes such as Effective Oral Communication, College and Career planning, Child Development, and Culinary Arts. One thing is missing: Shop Class. Middletown Township High Schools can teach us how to cook, speak in front of a large audience, prepare for college, and take care of children but they do not teach us how to do simple home repairs or even provide us with access to learning about the ‘Blue Collar’ field. The only way students will learn
What do i think would make the school district of woodland park high school better for the students and teachers, I believe that we need more options in our classes, some students get bored with the lack of classes and i think some of our more, athletic students, More educated students, some of our less educated students, some of our more educated students, and some of our more ambitious students should be able to move forward with ease through their high school and college years.
Administrators at Marshall Metropolitan High School implemented multiple programs, processes, and procedures to motivate faculty and students to improve the school’s academic performance leveraging both the equity and expectancy theory. One of the central elements of the administration’s strategy was to create standard, clear, consistent, and equitable expectations and objectives for teachers and students (Kinicki & Williams, 2013). Therefore, administrators set student achievement targets for teachers and insisted all faculty members log every instance of student misconduct and scores from teacher observations (Kinicki & Williams, 2013). As for students, administrators set consistent attendance goals, behavioral standards, and achievement
Motivating teachers to achieve better results at Marshall Metropolitan High School will require administrators to meet the basic and higher motivational needs of the staff (Kinicki & Williams, 2013). After dismissing 80% of the previous staff and the alarming amount of student violence at Marshal, administrators must start by fulfilling the basic motivational needs of physiological, safety, and existence (Ahmed, 2010). As a result, administrators will need to start by addressing the teachers’ need for self preservation by assuring this new group of teachers they are committed to their success, providing the teachers with clear criteria regarding what they must do to maintain their employment, and provide them with support to help them succeed

The target population for the experiment was a Metro Atlanta high school. The target sample for the experiment was high school students; including a ratio of three boys and four girls with an age range of 13 to 18 The mean age of the sample was 15.5 years old. Invitational opportunity sampling was used to allocate participants. The invitation involved an informed consent form, and of those who brought it in at the time of the experiment, seven participants agreed to participate. The opportunity sampling was employed because it was highly valuable due to its speed and efficiency since groups of students could easily be located (Jamison, 2013). The participants were allocated in seats assigned by their instructor within a
As a transformational leader who will serve as a vital change agent for the implementation of “Dynamic Reading Program”, following the outline of Beckhard and Harris’s planned change model (1977). They proposed a general six-step change process to effectively manage change as the school leader. As it relates the implementation of the new reading core, a school leader must take the first step of the model and diagnose the present condition of the school’s reading success rate. The school leader of a school within the district must work with a collaborative team to analyze the school’s reading assessment data and data by grade level to compare it to Washington Elementary School’s reading assessment data. All students need to have a data point from which will become the beginning data for the start of the reading program. This will affect

Thank you very much for talking with me yesterday about the secretary opening with Silverlake Elementary School. The position sounds both challenging and rewarding; however, I would love to become a member of your staff.
