The use of technology in the classroom is an important tool to utilize as an educator. Technology allows for educators to have instant access to a plethora of resources that would not be available if technology was not used in the classroom. Teachers have the ability to plan lessons, create presentations, and have interactive games for students to use as a learning tool through the use of different digital devices. Modern day technology is rapidly advancing and providing teacher with many different tools to use in the classroom to enhance the students learning experience.
Technology of the past 20 years has become a focal point of teaching and learning. As a teacher, it is my job to facilitate the learning for an individual by creating an environment that not only conducive for learning, but also places the child in a position to discover and learn them for themselves. Technology has given teachers to opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom, and has begun to reshape their role in the learning process.
On February 1st, I visited the Britton Macon Area School. The teacher I observed was Ms. Richardson. She teaches a self-contained classroom for middle and high school grades. I started the observation at 8:00 A.M. until 11:32 A.M.
MDIHS is a the primary high school serving AOS 91, which is located in rural Hancock County. Unlike many surrounding districts, the communities served by AOS (alternative organizational structure) have joined “for the purpose of providing administrative services”, including, but not limited to “a superintendent, special education administration, transportation administration, and business functions” (Maine Department of Education, 2015, p.1). Have you ever felt that you don’t get the respect that you deserve? David Greenberg was a 6th grader at Harman Middle school. Just like all 6th graders, the start of middle school can be really tough. Especially when you lose your best friend right before school starts. David became kind of famous online, but at school no one really acknowledges him for it. In the meantime, David has to deal with bullies and loneliness. When David is happy, he is with friends and family but while he is unhappy, he is alone. At the end, things do work out and David has friends but he isn’t always untroubled. I think David isn’t always happy but has a lot of fun at Harman Middle School.

Hello parents of our upcoming class! It is an honor to be able to teach your 4 and 5 year olds this upcoming school year. This school was founded in the year 2016 by, the school’s principals, Dr. Kaydriana Simpson ph.d and Dr. Morgan Tinsley M.d; Phd. The two created this preschool to educate the extraordinarily gifted toddlers. Your children were invited to come to this school due to outstanding recommendations and scored high enough on the little people advancement test ,or LPAT, to be accepted. This school only allows 5 children per classroom, therefore we could only accept 110 students.
To emphasize how much Lawton M. Lawton M. Chiles Elementary participates in the Site-based Internship Program and Pro-Teach Program from the University of Florida. Upon hiring new and beginning teachers, the school assigns a mentor teacher to each so that the mentor teacher, grade-level team, and administrators can provide adequate support and resources to these new teachers.
Rancho Minerva Middle School (RMMS) is located in the rural area within the Vista Unified School District (VUSD). A major issue occurring at RMMS is corresponding to sixth to eighth grade male students being recipients of ineffective punishments as a result of their disruptive behavior. Students’ disruptive behavior refers to those who engage in altercations, disrupt teachers during instruction time, and become involved in substance use. The ramifications for students with disruptive behaviors are followed by disciplinary approaches such as expulsions, suspensions, Saturday school, and after school detention. Such approach has resulted in students achieving lower academics which can also increase the chances of engaging in risky behavior outside the school. According to RMMS School Accountability Report Card (SARC), in the 2014-2015 school year, RMMS reported 10.4% suspensions which demonstrated to be higher than the previous years. Additional factors that have had an effect on suspension rates are the limited in house services provided to this particular population at RMMS. Though RMMS does not have an appointed mental health provider or personnel to assist with mental health support on site, students are granted the opportunity to be referred to outside providers/therapist for counseling services. However, this has been a major limitation for our
Napavine’s goal is to engage and inspire critical thinking skills in every student through instruction that is individually relevant, motivating, aligned and diverse. Our action plan is for both the elementary and junior/senior high schools to utilize the Marzano Instructional Framework as a guide to student learning and professional growth. We have established that building administrators and teachers will utilize the Marzano Frameworks to guide professional growth discussions, goal setting meetings, and to identify future professional development opportunities. We have also established a Teacher/Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP) committee who will plan and guide professional development that includes a teacher leader to provide evaluation and framework training. Our School Improvement Plan (SIP) identifies Marzano instructional practices on a yearly basis as a school-wide focus for implementation and/or improvements. We also hold student growth meetings each fall between school administrators and teachers to revolve around students at risk of falling behind their peers and student sub-groups who may be collectively behind the total student population (closing the achievement gap). We plan to make time for instructional rounds during the school year to facilitate professional growth among teachers.

For the last two years, Cameron King has been a writer for Thousand Oaks High School’s award-winning student newspaper, The Lancer. This past year, Cameron took on a leadership role as sports editor. As an editor, Cameron is not only responsible for layout design, but also determining the focus of each piece and the angle in which they are written. This means he has to have knowledge in both women’s and men’s sports and the athletes who play them. This sounds like a “do-able” task, but in truth, it takes much thought, research, preparation and communication. Why? Because not only does Cameron write and publish, he also commands a team of staff writers responsible for contributing to his section of the paper. In this capacity, Cameron continues to demonstrate strength as a leader and mentor. Cameron has a way of cajoling his team into working a little later or a little harder, so even though the sports

Most students today use technology throughout their school day. Uses for technology can be found for every subject matter a student has. Some of the most widely used tools are found in the English and Language Arts classes. Writing on word processors allows students to cut-and-paste, save their work, and use spell checkers and thesauruses. With technology students are also given advantages in learning how to read. Reading programs use
much simpler for the students to publish their own work on the internet. When it comes to learning how to improve reading skills, many programs exist, one of the better being Reader Rabbit, which uses games to disguise drill-and-practice routines to help students improve reading ability. All of these are examples of how technology has positively affected Language Arts education.
