The book Stargirl, written by Jerry Spinelli, is about a girl named Stargirl Caraway. Stargirl recently enrolled in a new high school after being previously homeschooled. She was different from the other students in several ways. Stargirl wore different outfits and acted differently from the other kids. She plays her ukulele at lunch and she is nice to everyone despite not receiving the same treatment from the other kids.
