When you are a National Delegate, you essentially get to be a State Officer for a week. You get to travel and room with the team and you get to know them much better throughout the course of the week. This is just one of the few aspects of this trip that made it memorable. From being able to represent a few of the over 650,000 FFA members to being a part of the delegate floor, it was an experience to remember. However, it isn’t all fun and games. These committees come up with a proposal of whereas and resolution statements to take to the entire delegate body. This year we had the Committee for the Nature and Structure of …show more content…
We heard many testimonies and some states had very strong opinions on the matter on both sides of the table. Unfortunately, we did not come up with a resolution to take to the board and the majority voted to keep our requirements the same. With our recommendation finished, we moved into the delegate business meetings. We had two delegate business meetings during the convention, chaired by our 2016-2017 National President, David Townsend. During these meetings, the chairperson of each committee submitted their recommendation to the delegate body for approval. Once submitted, the delegates were allowed to debate and amend portions of the each of recommendations. Thankfully, even with the extensive debate on some issues, the committee reports were all passed and read at the Ninth General Session. We also voted on three constitutional amendments, including changing the FFA year dates, removing colligate FFA chapters, and keeping dues the same. There were also some proposals brought to the meeting, but none were passed to talk about. Once this meeting was adjourned, our business delegate work was over. We now got to have fun on the delegate floor and at the convention. As a delegate, along with making changes in the organization, you get to sit on the floor of the convention hall and really bring the energy into each of the sessions. We dance before the sessions, create the tunnel for

Each type of government holds different views as to the role the leaders and citizens should perform in their country .Different types of government include, oligarchy where the government is run by the best leaders, Tyranny, where they believe those in power should have complete control over its people. What were the compromises in the Constitutional Convention In 1787, 55 delegates met to revise the Articles of Confederation. They ended up writing one of the most documents in the history of the United States. Each delegate had a set of ideals, or beliefs for the 3 main issues. This created many tensions in the three ideas, and a compromise was needed.

The Golden Age of nominating conventions were started as a mechanism to organize and unify the party. After the civil war, all the convention become deliberative convention. People get the nominations by cutting deals and bring the different factions and people into a collation.
Delegates are required to run for an elected position at the state, county, or city level early in the week. Throughout the election process, delegates join election committees, and participate in both the caucusing process and a state convention. After the election process is over, the elected delegates spend two days performing the jobs that they were elected to do. This process allows delegates to get a taste of what our elected representatives experience on a regular basis, albeit with less stress.

All of the infighting, backstabbing, muckraking and mudslinging have brought a battle weary electorate to what in the past has been known as having the most circus like atmosphere, the Presidential Nominating Conventions. The presidential election starts with at the beginning of the election year. When candidates announce plans to run for office. During this sage candidates make speeches, and participate in debates. The Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer is, to some, just words that must be uttered during ceremonies and those times when new sergeants earn their stripes. To others, there is no higher thought. These Soldiers live their time while in uniform trying their best to uphold everything written in those three paragraphs. Some choose what those words mean; others make little effort in deciding but let others decide for them. When I entered the service of my country 6 years ago, I had no clue that such a creed existed. My family included wartime veterans; my grandfathers served in korea. And my great Grandfather in world 1. They All served honorably and passed down many stories of both tragic and valorous deeds. They all know and have told me
