I am attracted to this place mainly because of its strong academic atmosphere and excellent teachers as well as the freedom and democratic learning style. The experience in United Kingdom can let me become confident, mature and independent. By studying in Highbury College, I can increase my passion in understanding the way the hotels are functioning and the way the managers are managing.
I am also undertaking a part-time job as a waitress at a Chinese restaurant in the UK. I have many chances to apply the knowledge about hospitality management I learnt in Highbury College. I hope to develop my ability to have a better communication and customer service, along with an aptitude to work effectively as part of a team.
I have a strong interest in Food and Beverage. During the Operation skills of Hospitality lecture every week, I can learn many skills of operating an event, as well as the cooking skill. I am looking forward to learn more about holding an event more efficiently and how to cook well. I also would like to have some beverage training such as the cocktail training and know more about the wine and
Theatre, event planning, and tourism all emphasize intangible goods and services more than tangible ones. The guest experience is the most valuable asset. However, in restaurants and hotels, it is the opposite; guests focus on the quality of the physical goods more than the service. Employees of both theatre and hospitality need experience outside of the classroom in order to become truly successful in their field. There is only so much one can learn about these skills; it is necessary to have a balance between experience and knowledge in order to apply it. Lastly, the theatre and hospitality industries both emphasize design, but to different extents. On the surface, theatre and hospitality appear to be very different, but they contain many of the same core
When I was accepted to Temple University, I was not sure what I wanted to do because I was painfully torn between business and tourism and hospitality management. Fortunately, I was able to participate in a program where I could explore both study fields.

Owning a restaurant is a lot of work considering that they are so many concepts that you should execute to make a restaurant into a success. One of the elements you should complete is to hire workers such as chefs and waiters. While in the business, you should communicate with your employees when something goes wrong in the business such as absences and unexpected incidents. Another important information I should prepare is to promote the business. When starting a restaurant, you should promote the restaurant by putting ads in the newspaper and commercials on television. In order to obtain that position in the market, you need to understand how to execute all these elements successfully and by experiencing doing a presentation in a foreign country I can learn how to promote something domestically and internationally. By attending the London Program provided by the SWSD, it will help myself with the business needs on how to run a restaurant in the

There are many things that I am certain about myself and choosing a career in the hospitality and tourism industry gives me the ability to participate and change people’s lives. The hospitality industry offers a wide range of career opportunities at all levels to choose from, whether, its hotel or a restaurant. When both of those unique environments come together, you then realize that cruises are the best options, because with all the opportunities that they offer out there in the world a cruise ship is what is put together into one.

Eddie Rivera presented to my class of about 200+ people about how to reach our dream. His presentation was not a collection of facts and numbers of the hospitality industry, nor was it a tutorial on the steps one needs to take in order to manage a group of people. Instead, Mr. Rivera told us about his life and the many struggles he had to endure. Not only was it interesting, it was exceptionally inspirational. Eddie told us that in order to achieve our dreams, we should keep moving forward, whatever the circumstances, and try to always meet people along the way. With Eddie’s philosophy, I will take on the amazing opportunities that will open up to me.
"Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one." Education is not preparation for life, it’s life itself! My educational goal is to major in Travel and Tourism. I plan to attend Broward College for a year to complete the prerequisite courses every incoming student must take. Then, I plan to transfer to Florida International University and take part in the most competitive hospitality school at FIU’s Miami Chaplin campus for three years. The Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management offers Bachelor and Master degrees with certificate programs in various hospitality specializations and Minors. Each student must start off by taking Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Management. This course introduces the branch
The skills acquired in the restaurant/service industry are unique and relatable. Considered to be a goal oriented; client-centered; self-starter; who’s hands on management style is instructive and informative. Known to demonstrate extensive experience; knowledge of operations; professionalism and discretion, paired with an increased capacity for, understanding the intrinsic value of people; learning; and communication. Currently focused on economics, with a degree in liberal arts, I aim to make a positive contribution to Per-Se, continue my education, and develop my skills.
Many colleges that offer Hospitality Management may also include the option to enroll within a specific concentration, so that you may gain a “specialty”. Therefore it’s important to have a sense of what area of hospitality you are interested in, so that you enroll yourself into an appropriate program, including programs where graduates have been able to secure employment in your interested field and location. For example, if you have the desire to work as a ski lodge manager, you may want to make sure you enroll into a school that provides the focus of the hotel industry and potential internship opportunities within ski country vs. the beaches in Florida.
Hospitality Industry is broad and diverse; organizations within it share some things in common. I went to different departments of the hotel (I started from the HR department, then move to the Housekeeping department, then to Concierge department and finally to the marketing department) and got a lot of varied experiences. In all these departments I learned many things which will be helpful for me in my future. I also learned the values and importance
The hospitality service industry includes hotels, casinos, and resorts, which offer comfort and guidance to strangers, but only as part of a business relationship. The terms hospital, hospice, and hostel also derive from "hospitality," and these institutions preserve more of the connotation of personal care.
