I am majoring in Integrated Studies; I currently work at the Federal Public Defender’s office in downtown Seattle. I live in Everett, which is 20 miles North of Seattle and less than an hour drive to Canada. This October will be my 15 year anniversary, as a Government employee, at one point I worked for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, but that was short lived, due to medical reasons, not mine my sons. I have a Special Needs son, and his needs were not being met, so I transferred back to the Seattle Office. I am originally from California, grew up on a vineyard, where my dad was the foreman for Christian Brothers Winery. My goal is to become a Staff Administrator and this course fit all my requirements. I like to play pool and board
The new Humboldt County public defender, whose hiring has raised questions in the local legal community, said he is ready to start working this week. And he is responding to the criticism levied in his direction.
The OC Public Defender office appears to specialize in defending the legal rights of homeless individuals (in the Homeless Court). One of my tasks involves updating resources via collecting data on different types of clients (i.e clients that are homeless, on post release community supervision, parole, or on mandatory supervision). Other activities include shadowing the office's staffs and observing and/or interviewing homeless individuals. I may also be assigned general office tasks like filing

My previous employment at Georgetown University Student Employment Office has equipped me with the required administrative competence and skills necessary for this position. Part of my daily duties as a student employment specialist were to manage communications via email and phone calls, to be a liaison between on and off-campus employers, schedule and prepare for meetings, respond to various inquiries, and to maintain a filing system. I worked closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs at Georgetown University in addition to other faculty leaders. Through these positions I developed strong
I feel this program will be very beneficial for me to reach my goals in a lifelong career in law enforcement. I am involved with Tau Kappa Epsilon and we demonstrate
I would have taken the first plea of robbery because I feel the consequences would be less severe than if I were to take the second plea. The second plea thirty years later, I feel is too late to get a real fighting chance at a life outside prison walls without much knowledge on how much the world has really changed. The first plea gives me time to adapt to the changing world, possibly making a real big difference in my life. Knowing that the justice system is giving me an ultimatum that only ends in having difficulties, the first plea gives me more opportunity. Taking the first plea would mean that I would have an opportunity to live my life as a free individual, even though I am not completely free from the criminal justice system. I have

Since middle school, I’ve hadn't been the type of person that's into sports or clubs as much as the other students my age have been but I am the type of person that seeks opportunities to help out my community. I have volunteered in many locations starting from food banks, teaching at an elementary summer program, church on Saturdays, working the front desk at an organization, babysitting, the sheriff's department and some other small duties. From all of these, I have gained new skills that have been useful or will be in the future some day. For instance working with the sheriff’s department has taught me multiple skill on working the front desk and mainly improving my communication skills. In college communicating is very important since
I completed my associate degree last year, and as I am getting closer to completing my bachelor’s degree, as I look ahead I can see that light at the end of the tunnel. This journey has been very long, and at times I have felt frustrated and afraid, but I have learned to conquer my fears. Completing college is essential if I want to be successful and competitive in today’s world. Years ago I never thought this day would ever come. My current goal is to complete my B.S. degree in Community and Human Services with a concentration in Human Services. I am currently volunteering at an organization that helps to keep families from becoming homeless. Everything I have learned so far here at Empire State College has been tremendously helpful.
