This video tries to help people understand what defines strength by testing the world’s strongest materials known to men today, materials such as Kevlar, carbon nanotubes, and even some natural materials that are found in nature like the beak of the toucan and spider silk. Materials strength can be looked at in different ways. Materials strength is tested and checked in different types of strength like compression strength in glass and chalk, and tensile strength like in metals; most of this according to video can be explained by the atomic structure of materials. For example, steel, which was used as armor, is an alloy of iron and carbon, adding of carbon hardens the iron by locking the layers of iron atoms into a strong, rigid structure.

Discovering ones strengths is an important process that every young adult should strive to achieve, that is why I was excited to take the Gallup Strengthfinder Assessment. Then the poll produces the top five signature themes out of thirty-four possible options. Like many, I was very eager to learn something new about myself. This came as no surprise once I received my test results which are closely related to knowledge.

Strength & Conditioning and athletics as a whole are looked at as simply creating workouts and training the athletes according to those workout programs but there is a lot more that goes on beneath the surface that the average public eye does not see or even consider a part of the job. To begin with, a little background about me, as I was growing up I was the fat child from my whole family. From all my sisters I was the chubby one. Well it all happens for a reason, I stuck with cross country for ten years. So I was always thin, however as I grew older I realized that in order to perform better in meets I had to change my diet. Since, I was not performing as great as I did years before. So it wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I started eating healthier. Which meant more fruits and vegetables onto my diet. To accomplish the second goal of returning my physical balance and rehab may take me really testing my character, challenging my age and re-learning who I am physically and instead focusing more on who I want to be in the future. I was once built like a bull and now I am as weak as I was at ten years old. I fear that if I do not get this goal right it can have fatal consequences for everything I am trying to accomplish. Attitude will determine everything for me in pursuing this personal and professional goal.
