The word “stress” has become an essential part of our vocabulary today. The American Psychological Association defines stress as “a feeling of being overwhelmed, worried or run-down. Stress can affect people of all ages, genders and circumstances and can lead to both physical and psychological health issues.” There are external and internal factor that causes stress every day. For example in an internal level can be the inability to accept uncertainty, rigid thinking, and lack of flexibility, negative self-talk, and unrealistic expectations or perfectionism. On the other hand, people around us or external situations can also to elevate our level of stress, such as major life, changes, work or school, relationship difficulties, financial problems, being too busy, and children and family. …show more content…

After living Egypt, the congregation of Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness saying, “for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger" (New Revised Standard, Exo 16:3). This circumstances put in Moses and Aaron in a stressful situation, they were responsible for these people that were hangry and did not have anything to eat. Another example is the frequent wars that the Israelites went through. Also the Bible narrates approximately 53 remarkable battles from Abraham to the beginning of the Christianism. Moreover, slavery was a factor that produces stress. The Scripture shows us that after Joseph death a new king came into power over Egypt, this king oppressed the Israelites and made the people them “work very hard” (Exo 1:11-14).
