Of all the issues in our country, why did I choose to fight for the right education? Is it because many students need it? Of course it is! First of all what is the right education? The right education is more focused on studying than on different tasks which might hinder the students from learning more things. Many students in our country need the right education. It seems as though the youth is receiving it properly. Many people didn't notice and some didn't even bother to think if the youth is receiving the right education. Yes, the teachers are teaching them different courses but they are more focused in performance tasks. Do you think it is the right thing?
According to the statistics, 2 out of 3 8th graders score below proficient in reading and math and 3 out of 4 8th-12th graders do not write proficiently. Nowadays, many students are giving up their time just to do their assigned tasks without noticing that they are spending more time in doing tasks than in learning. The students are getting pressured sometimes because of doing their tasks and studying at the same time. As a result, the students will

I am just a student like the others and I know the struggle of a student who does many tasks and studying at the same time. Now, I am asking help from all of you. We must not let the students receive a deficient education. We must take action, but how? First, one must ask help from the officials of a school to let the students have less performance tasks and focus more on studying. If the officials of the school agreed, then the students can now receive the right education that they need. Second, education is not complete without the character of a student; parents and teachers must help each other to improve the character of the students. With those two steps I think the student has received not only the right education but also a good
One would think that as a World Superpower the United States education system would be producing exceptionally high caliber young men and women to become contributing members of society upon graduation. However, in many ways, the opposite is shown to be the case, with declining test scores, with a 19% dropout rate among high school students, with a 41% drop out rate of college students, and 40% of the graduates unprepared to either continue their educations at universities or become worthwhile members of the workforce. These declines can be attributed to many factors including lack of parental involvement, teen pregnancy, rising tension in world affairs, drug use, and many others, however, our government 's involvement in the school system is another major factor and is the current focus of this paper. In it I intend to show how many of the government 's policies with regards to education are proving to be a major hindrance in the preparedness of our youth once they 've completed their requisite milestones for graduation. (U.S.A Department of Education, 2012)
As students start graduating from high school, they start to ask themselves “Why do I need to go to college and is it going to really be worth my time”. Students are forced into going to college either by their parents or by society. School has been made up to be the holy grail of knowledge and “if you don't go to school, you won't make it far in life”. You can get knowledge from places other than schools.
School is stressful and tough with all the homework and tests, In Fact all of the students I interviewed say that there is too much homework and that they can't always get it all done. Many students say that they stay up late rushing on the homework, which in the long run will affect their grades which will affect their college that they get into, which in the end will affect their future job. “I feel rushed and sometimes in a hurry to get my homework done before practice” said one student. Some students around the world spend 13+ hours a week on homework alone which is too much. One primary school in new York has gotten rid of homework and outside of school projects all together, telling the kids that they should get outside and exercise.
With the results of the wonderful benefits it provides, it brings a question to mind; what do these teaching methods do that benefit our education? As a future educator and being in a school where these practices and techniques have been implemented, to me I feel that this teaching style has a huge impacted on how students should be taught. I believe that this trend should be continued to be used in all schools because this process really dives into the fundamentals of teaching. It also gets the students involved with their education and in my opinion, that creates an environment where the students can take control of their learning and they can be accountable for their education. I believe some schools forget that it is the student's’ job
The United States education system is currently ranked 17th worldwide (“Global Grade”). According to the dictionary, education is the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life. In a survey conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, adults in the United States scored way below average, and better than only two of the twelve countries it was being compared to (“Why Other Countries Teach Better”). Does the United States really want to be average or below with a skimpy ranking in a subject of such importance? The United States is the superpower leading the world in many ways such as in military or political power, but European and Asian countries are succeeding us in the academic world. Education is the basis of most things in life and one of the most powerful tools a person can obtain, so the United States lacking in it will eventually be detrimental and allow other countries like China to pull ahead in the race to be the best. Americans are competing with more qualified and better educated people from around the world for jobs and success, but it is not their fault they were not properly prepared. Although the United States education system does have its perks, there are many problems that need to be resolved immediately, like the manner in which schools are conducted and the distribution of funding.
Education is one of the many things I am willing to fight for. I believe in everyone getting an education and succeeding in becoming who they want to become. The future many people wish for is based upon the education that they receive. I believe that everyone in the world deserves education, wherever they may be. Education should be a free thing that people can receive without anyone going up against them for just wanting to be educated.
Every year, American teachers discover that the youth have a 5D relationship with their schools: dissatisfied, disengaged, disaffected, disrespectful, and disruptive. In this prolific source of educational substances, the paucity of satisfaction of the students and the predilections of the teachers militate in some measure against a just valuation being accorded to such researches. “Policy makers remain oblivious to the fact that ‘kids are not what they used to be,’” and in order to re-engage the young, serious research on everyday education needs to be expressed (p. 33). The U.S. education system needs to understand that ambiguity exists, and a rapid cycle of policy changes will stagnate their efforts to achieving cultural globalization.
Education is vital for the future success of any nation. Throughout the past twenty years, education in the United States of America has fallen far below international standards. This poor performance has caused a recession to the innovations America once made in industries such as engineering, science, and health; Thus making it the most important topic among American politics.
Schools should put in place more networks of peer groups or peer teams and make it mandatory to all students to get involved. This can make it very easy for them to cope with college hard demand schedule and homework. In some ways, discussion groups and interactions of learning teams will help the student to take interest in academic progress. Also, competitions among the peer groups will give a student chance to fit into academic demand. This can make the academic stress become fun. It is interesting to know that success in beating other groups will make up for lack of concentrations and encouragement. Of course, no student can succeed without academic participation and commitment. In a book by Tim R. Westerberg, he stated 6 strategies for moving schools from good to great “1. Developing clear instructional Goals. 2. Developing a Common vision of effective instructions. 3. Using frequent Formative Assessment. 4. Tracking of student Progress. 5. Providing Timely Intervention for Struggling Student. 6 Celebrating Student Success” (Westerberg 4). This is where peer groups and professors will have to play a major role that will help bring the student`s mind alive and love for academic
A good education is considered a part of the American dream. Education is believed to be a privilege in life that opens doors for your future. American education now has become very competitive and expensive dream that will hopefully accommodate a higher paying wage. Education pulls many families out of poverty like conditions into a better socioeconomic status. The value of education will always be the cornerstone of the American dream.
Students stress about school most of their life time. They overwork themselves to the point that the
It is essential that all schools pursue and uphold principles of social justice if our education system is to provide all students with a quality and equitable education’.
Students spend a lot of time in doing their schoolwork and after spending countless hours they hardly get the passing grades. They know actually how to read but are unable to grasp the meanings it really does not mean that these students are not motivated or they do not have that intellectual potential they try to show the best performance without targeting those weak points which become hurdle in their progress. As stated by Sylvie Thivierge Spoken language plays a vital role in determining someone’s writing it is observed that starting school is easier for those who are good at speaking as compared to those who are not well acquainted well with their language. Skills are interrelated and are developed at very early ages so if a student can speak well it’s not important that he can write well as writing needs to be done in an organized manner so teachers should assist the students in targeting those issues which unknowingly spoil their literary skills.
Junior year is a pivotal year for high school students, especially since it revolves around preparing for his or her college admissions process. For instance, juniors normally take the SAT or ACT exams at least once before the beginning of his or her senior year. Nonetheless, high school juniors tend to take advanced placement courses as well, mainly because it gives he or she the opportunity to earn college credits. Yvette, a high school junior has a habit of studying for her exams the night before—Mr. Cataldo recently discovered this. How can Mr. Cataldo help? Think about it: First, Mr. Cataldo must have a one-on-one conversation with Yvette and ask her why and how long has she been cramming for her exams. In order to help Yvette, Mr. Cataldo must first identify the problem, followed by using his pedagogical knowledge to develop a plan that can help Yvette. According to Dr. Klemm (2012), “Students may be forced to cram because they have procrastinated or did not have a regular, organized, and disciplined approach to study” (p. 1). Thus, it seems that Yvette needs help establishing a disciplined approach to studying—it begins in the classroom. When it comes to managing behavior, it is important for educators to understand that establishing conditions that fosters preferable
In the world of teaching, the teachers all hope for a day when the class group can work through a lesson as one unit, comprehending the grade level materials, applying the new knowledge to real life scenarios, and exceeding what is expected on any given assessment. In a perfect world, this may be the case. However, our world is not perfect and the students do not learn by molding to a “one size fits all” category. Learning is individualized, just like teaching, every student learns at their own pace. For some students, learning is a more difficult task and requires more from the teachers. More time, more practice, and more individualized interventions are required for these types of learners. A subject that often requires extra attention is literacy. Reading and writing is a basis for all subject areas, if these skills are a weakness for a student, then all other subjects will suffer to one extinct or another.
