This past week, my group and I have discussed our recycling process and we are trying to plan it out very carefully. The first step in our process is to recycle as much bottles and cans as we can to raise up at least 75 to 100 dollars each. Once we receive the money we will look for a professional organization to give it to so they can provide the homeless for the sake of our safety. We want to help as many homeless people as we can or at least 30. In addition to our funding, we will look for work to do such as mowing lawns or trimming trees to ensure that we have enough to provide the homeless with. We will also keep this project within the community also due to our safety. We do not want to go into random neighborhoods, so we may either provide
In order to keep homeless people off the streets and to keep them from panhandling, it is necessary for all homeless people to be transported to landfills. At these landfills across the United States, there are viable housing options, food supplies, and jobs for many homeless individuals. Landfills contain ample amounts of building material, cardboard boxes, and oftentimes old furniture. Individuals can use anything at the landfills to build themselves a new home on site. Under this system, homeless individuals will obtain shelter, while making practical use of materials that were thrown away.
Heading home from a long day’s work. The traffic light turns red. Waiting for the light to turn green, to the left a man with a sign walking up and down the curb. “Homeless and Hungry,” “Will Work for Shelter,” or “Homeless Need Help” are just a few notes jotted on cardboard to get drivers attention. Homelessness has the ability to affect a number of people on a daily basis. According to National Health Care of the Homeless Council, n.d. (NHCHC), “there is more than one official definition of homelessness”. Needless-to-say, those who lack a fixed and adequate residence can become homelessness. These situations can make the social problem bigger than it should be in conjunction with structural factors, affordable house, and traumatic actions will help miss the mark.
Recycling and composing initiatives should be adopted and put into practice in communities throughout the United States. Recycling helps improve the enviorment we live in.By recycling we can make the enviorment a much neater place. In fact recycling can help save money.
With the advancement of poverty in the United States it is time to solve the homeless situation. Thousands of Americans are homeless and taking up space on the city’s streets. A simple solution to this problem would be to allow the homeless to reside in landfills. They would be able to sort through the waste to find appropriate cardboard boxes to live in. This could also be used as a form of employment allowing them to sort through recycling to improve the environment. It is also a statistical fact that many Americans throw away food that goes untouched. Not only would they have a permanent residence of their choosing but this also insures that they would have plenty of food to maintain their strength to sort trash.
The U.S. government, middle, and upper-class citizens in the United States should come together and fund communities in large cities like Chicago in the next couple years to lower the amount of homeless people living on the city streets. In these communities they can build schools for those with children so they can learn while their parents work and build income. As well as providing two to three community hot meals for the families to eat. They can even build facilities where the homeless who struggle with addictions live and receive treatment such as counseling and inspirational speakers visit to share their testimonies.
My ecology action project will be on recycling water bottles and soda cans and cash them in for money to give to my school and church. My mom and step-dad will be driving me around town to pick up cans and water bottles. Numerous stores will also be asked if we will be able to put recycling bins in their stores. All of the bottles and cans will be put together and cashed in every one to two weeks depending on the amount. By doing this action the environment will be a little less messy and money will be given back to our community. This project will be done a little every day.
I have noticed people on Martin Luther King Parkway and Highway 365. In the bags, would be toiletries, snacks, socks, ready to eat meals, protein bars, bottled water, and ten-dollar gift cards to local food establishments. Enough to help them through at least one day. Another step, is to purchased blankets, pillows with plastic covering, jackets, sleeping bags from Goodwill, or buy when I see a sale and have those in my car to hand out as well. I would also like to start a local Facebook group and recruit volunteers to help me implement my plan. A barrier to implementing my plan associated with the project, is my limited mobility. I would never want to put myself in a situation where I could be easily harmed. I do not feel comfortable just throwing a bag out my window at someone, so distribution could only occur when I have a friend or family member with me. When I think about the homeless population, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs immediately comes to mind (McLeod, 2016). How can an individual help themselves if their basic physiological and safety needs are not met? They cannot. As one person, I may be unable to offer shelter, or security, but I can offer food and drink. Systemically, I can speak to my pastor and my future practicum sight about helping with my personal plan or the church will take this on as a long-term project as well. I also
Unfortunately, many individuals are without homes or living in overloaded shelters. While this is an increasing problem in America, many neglect the existence of it. For the past four years in the month of November, I have spent numerous nights in a cardboard box to raise awareness for this problem. To begin, I first gather donations from locals who support me spending fifteen hours in a box in the harshening autumn weather. Then, on behalf of my local transitional living center, I donate the money I raise to them, which in return gives them enough money to keep the shelter open for at least eleven additional months.
The followings are the possible extraneous variables that can be influenced the study include: Settings, present health status, and the tool using (tape recorder). Settings can influence the result of this study because homeless individuals who live on the streets roam around and they normally do not have a stable place to be. Fortunately, these particular homeless individuals can be controlled because they can be targeted at Salvation Army Ministries lunches serving streets in most of the Polk County. These individuals regularly roaming on these specific streets and corners to get lunch every day and they will be the best participants to recruit for this study. The present health status must also consider because if their basic needs such
While programs dealing with the homeless community, many Americans still oppose such initiatives that benefit this cause. They believe the homeless should not receive any assistance such as free shelters, food, and other resources, because they are a product of their way of living because of poor life choices such as lack of education, drug, and alcohol abuse. Many argue the standard upon which homelessness continues to exist is because help cannot be given to those who do not want the help, which makes the principle flawed. Otherwise, they would not be homeless and panhandling, or at the least, they themselves would find the help and not be homelessness. Reforming a homeless person and can be achieved, but will eventually return to the same
Failures, drug addicts, lazy, alcoholics, repulsive, ignorant, criminals are some ways some of you might describe homeless people. Would you spare a few dollars to a homeless man, even though you dont know whether it would go to food or a drug dealer? Should you even be responsible for a grown man's well being? You may walk down the street today and look down at a homeless person sitting on the street and decide to save an extra dollar for your fat wallet. I know who I'm loathingly looking down at walking down the street and it's not the homeless.
How much waste is being produced daily in our cities is unnecessary and how many people are homeless is outrageous. There are many ways all of the people in our cities can help but it would be easier if your committee starts the “wave” so to speak. Firstly we need to get rid of abandoned or closed houses. In addition we need to save all good foods that are good but are getting wasted.Last but not least we need to make sure this does not keep happening. I agree with the idea of taking a strong stand against homelessness with help from the government or private organizations.“Homeless people in our cities should be given access to services, such as regular food donations, public restrooms, and camping facilities, because it would improve life
My project is to raise money for those homeless people, because I did some research showed that they are struggling with their life. I set up this project because It would help those homeless people a lot if the shelter get more money. If the shelter have more money it means that they can take care more people and those people can have a better life in the shelter. Raise money is the most efficient thing to donate. Since they can buy anything they needed with money. If there are some surplus on things donated like clothes, it will be hard to deal with. So that’s the reason I came up to raise money for the homeless shelter.
I have received feedback on my paper from the writing lab. Now I will be revising my paper and make the recommended corrects that are need. My desire is to have a passing grade on this paper it is a lot of work and very detail in abstraction information for the reader to obtain a beneficial understanding of the problem and the useful solution that can help in the future dealing with the homeless population.
These days, our earth has been filled by a lot of waste. There is a lot of garbage, plastic waste, and electronic waste. We always produce it and dump it when we need the new one. Our waste are piling up and continuously accumulating. Plastic waste is one of the biggest problems for us now. And our solution in this problem is recycling. In my opinion, recycling is a way to manage used items into new products. We can reduce, reuse, and recycling (3R) waste management (Peter, 2013). We can reduce our waste clothes with reuse it. There are some reasons why peoples recycle used or unwanted items, which are, prevent wasting unusable materials that still have usage after recycled, reduce the application of raw materials, reduce energy
