The career I chose from the health sciences pathway is a pediatrician. I chose this career because I like helping people especially children. This career requires a bachelor degree with many classes in advanced science. In order to become a pediatrician you must pass the Medical College Admissions test and get into to medical school which takes four years to complete to earn a doctor of medicine degree (Career Cruising, 2018). In addition to medical school pediatricians complete a residency that usually lasts for three years (Career Cruising, 2018). Some good colleges to attend are Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins University, School of Medicine, and Stanford University, School of Medicine (The Best Schools, 2011). There are many skills
Every second of my life has already been predestined by myself. I have made a plan for myself and I don't plan on straying from that plan any time soon. Part of my plan is to finish high school and get my diploma. Every year I have been taking initiative and running for class president. I’ve applied for IB English, IB Spanish, Honors Math III, Honors Chem, AP History, Nursing and Jrotc.
Children get injured or sick every day, and it doesn’t matter whether the child goes to a doctor or a pediatrician they are still tended to by a pediatric nurse. A pediatric nurse has to have many qualities. They also have to take many different classes. A pediatric nurse’s pay can vary from location to location depending on where they are working. Pediatric nurses must endure many different things to make it into this particular work field, and have many different qualities.
“I began the study of medicine, impelled by a desire for knowledge of facts and of man. The resolution to do disciplined work tied me to both laboratory and clinic for a long time to come” (Jaspers , n.d.). In the past week or so, I changed the career that I wanted to pursue from being a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to being a Medical Technologist. When I first decided to become a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, I was in my junior year of high school and I was simply browsing the world wide web for a good paying job that was also helping others that are in need. Two years later and taking the college course Strategies for Success in College, I have realized that money alone cannot sustain an individual in reaching their ‘dream goal’. I needed something

Providing knowledge to parents to let them know that their child is healthy and safe gives every pediatric nurse a feeling of excitement. This job can be heartbreaking if babies are injured and the possibility of death but it can also be rewarding when providing babies with the will to live. A pediatric nurse cares for children when they are sick or injured in hospitals, schools, and healthcare facilities. The pediatric nurse is an important occupation because it give babies and children the extra care that is needed to become healthy and supplying the children with medicine. Pediatric nurses experience the wonder of babies growing stronger, healthier, and happier.
The nursing field gives a person many opportunities to work with and care for sick patients. When I graduate, my plan is to start off at Community College of Rhode Island, and then sometime transfer to the University of Rhode Island. I plan to specialize in Pediatrics. In order to become a Pediatric Nurse, I need to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. As in education, most physicians and surgeons must complete an undergraduate degree, followed by four years of medical school and three to seven years of internship/residency. The length of residency depends on specialization, which could be a total of seven years.
For all the millions of jobs out there, there are millions of people to go with them. Some examples of these jobs are Dentists, Artists, Archaeologists, Architects, or Nurses. But the list does not end there. Whatever hobbies or likenesses an individual has, there is most likely a job to go with it. The profession of Pediatrics permits those who enjoy working and taking care of children to pursue their dreams. Those who dream of going into this profession would prosper from attending classes at the University of Pennsylvania. Being one those who wish to follow this career, I would like to attend at this school because it has a wonderfully splendid pediatric curriculum.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. Now, half way through my junior year in high school, I have started to question the details of this career, and all the hard work it takes to become a part of the medical field.

For many years, I have been interested in studying pediatrics. My interest in pursuing this field stems from several factors which have affected me. First, when I was 11 years old my father was really sick, the doctors said that he did not have as much time to live. Days passed and I saw that every day my dad became sicker, I was really sad to see him sitting there unable to do anything. The doctors detected cancer in the pancreas, they couldn't do anything because the cancer was very advanced. Days, weeks, and even months passed and my dad became sicker, my family couldn't do anything just take care of him and give him everything that he needed. He could no longer eat or drink because every time he threw a mouthful at the mouth he would throw
