Dear Morehouse Presidential Ambassador Selection Committee It is a great pleasure to recommend Mr. Marlin J. Cook for the Morehouse College Presidential Ambassador Program. Mr. Cook is currently my Elementary Spanish II student, and last semester, he completed successfully Elementary Spanish I. Mr. Cook is very organized, punctual and diligent. He organized the different components of the course, such as online assignments, in-class exercises, oral and written activities, in such excellent ways that he is always aware of the class development. This characteristic allows him to be very respectful with the deadline of all these tasks. Mr. Cook is always prepared to participate actively in class, and regularly is a volunteer for additional practice
I write to recommend with enthusiasm Jacob Gonzalez’s candidacy for admission to Yale Divinity School. During Jacob’s first year at Stanford University, the 2011-2012 academic year, he took all three quarters of the yearlong sequence of Spanish classes for home-background speakers that I teach.
The fundamental part of the president's is the Head of State. This segment needs the president to be an amplifying case for the individuals. In a couple of nations, the head of state could be a king or a queen who wears a crown on remarkable occasions, acclaims national events, and pose for the best values and guidelines of the country. The Chief of State is the current picture of the State. It's contemplated a stunning honor for anybody to meet the president. The second occupation is the Chief government. The president is the "manager" for scores of government staff in the Executive Office of the President that he or she picks. However, the law of the U.S picks powers and advisors to run the official Branch. The third one is that the Chief Diplomat. The president picks what American mediators and negotiators may tell outside governments. With the assistance of advice, the president makes the approach of the u. s. The fourth one is Commander-In-Chief. The president is in charge of the U.S. Military. The president picks wherever troops ought to be situated, wherever transports may be
She also worked with Dr. Tammy Weiner and a working group to design the initial plans for the development of on-line courses at the university. In addition to these contributions, Dr. Morrow’s contribution to student success was one of her top priorities. Some people are born teachers and Dr. Morrow is one of those persons. She never taught because it provided her employment, but instead she taught because she loved the students and she loved teaching as a profession. She organized study and review sessions for students in the evenings on a consistent basis. She stayed at school two nights a week to offer additional evening office hours. In addition to the regularly scheduled two nights per week, she would meet with students for evening office hours whenever requested by the student. She also had an interesting mandated policy for students who were not performing well in her class. They were required to come to meet with her once a week to ensure they understood the assignments and materials covered in
In this book I have discovered many interesting facts that are in the book and how they are demonstrated in the classroom, and the lab. The book as though at times can be very dry to read, but is also in many ways have very interesting topics that can be used in daily life. The lab portion of the class showed us many ways to cook with many local foods, and keep the ingredients fresh and nutritious.
A typical day in Julie Smith MC 201 class starts of with her playing music. Once her class starts it’s nothing but and excitement. She is a very loud and energetic person. She is not afraid to get all in your face as she is walking around the class teaching you for the topic of the day. She also has a lot of games she uses to keep people engaged in the topics to she is talking about. “ I love coming to Julie class because you never know what to expect from her. One day you might get class where you’re using your phone and the next day she’s handing out candy. I love coming to her class not knowing what to expect.” Said Ciara Bazile. Julie just didn’t wake up one day and say hey I’m going to be teacher like most people as she likes to put it, “ just happened by accident.” One of her old professors called her one night and asked her if she was still teaching at Webster and asked her if she wanted to teach an intro class, she immediately jumped at it. Her favorite part about teaching is “having students contact me after the semester to tell me about examples they 've seen - which shows that what we 've talked about in 201 has stayed with them. I love getting to know them and know their stories. College students are much smarter than people give them credit for.” Julie has been teaching since 1998 so she has no shame when it comes to teaching is not afraid to make a fool of her self when it comes to teaching. “I remember Julie teaching us about television and radio. She
Observing- Mrs. Falchek will still be teaching one 8th grade class for this chapter because it is the SLOW chapter for the school district. She needs to teacher one class so she may be able to track the students' growth after the lesson.
Cook gave a lecture on Mental and Emotional Health. I really enjoyed his lecture because he used a personal example of him and when his father died. He was using his personal experience to explain to the students how he dealt with his father’s passing and how he got professional help. Before Mr. Cook’s lecture, he showed the students a crash course video on YouTube about emotions, stress, and health that would tie into the lesson. Throughout the lesson, Mr. Cook would ask the students questions and they would also ask him questions. What really caught my attention this week is Mr. Cook’s teaching style. I really feel like he knows the material and that he is well prepared. In my opinion, it is like he knows that book forwards and backwards. I also noticed that the students are not required to take notes like the students at my previous field experience was required to. Overall, I had a great first week and I look forward to learning more about Mr. Cook and his methods of
From day one, I noticed the relative ease of the course. The two friendly instructors welcomed the entire class, and they presented the material in a simple and comprehensible manner. The small, four-room classroom accompanied a total of eight students
It is a great honor to extend my support of Dr. Deveny for the Arts & Sciences Faculty Mentor Award. Within the last two years I have had the privilege of having Dr. Deveny as a professor in Elementary Spanish II and Advanced Spanish Grammar, as well as a mentor in my life. He has shared not only his knowledge of the Spanish language, but also his time, energy, and compassion.
This chapter offers a higher level of education. From the high school student, college student to a part of Teacher Corps, and now Mike Rose works for EOP, becomes a tutor in UCLA. Throughout this chapter, I can see the view of education of the author changes time by time. He is now facing with the highly successful students and the main problem here is how unprepared they are. Actually, I used to have that problem, it is not easy to integrate into new environment. In addition, I was struggled and stressed so much when I got really bad result in the first few tests in the first year in high school even I kept asking question and memorizing the whole lecture but now, I understand the problem was all about the study styles. Besides, I find out
Mr. Voss offers a relaxed, but also challenging classroom environment on a daily basis. He is very interested in the topics covered in class, but also adds his own humor to the AP curriculum. His class is very fun and engaging, and also prepares for the AP Exam in May. Mr. Voss expects for all of his students to work to their full potential and he genuinely cares about his students and is willing to help out students that are having trouble in the class. Every year he has these inside jokes and puns that he makes which are absolutely hilarious. Everyday I truly looked forward to going to his class, and Mr. Voss got me more interested in learning about US History. I now watch history based YouTube videos just because of the class. Mr. Voss has
Being an Ambassador for Bevill State Community College, to me, means opportunity. It means opportunity to share my positive experiences at Bevill with others. It means opportunity to be of service to the school in which I will proudly call my home for two years. Being awarded an Ambassador scholarship at BSCC will also mean a great financial opportunity for me. My career goals of becoming a Family Physician will be very financially straining, but this scholarship will give me the opportunity to begin my college career debt free. With my past experiences, such as work and school events, I can say that I am comfortable being around and meeting new people. I am very friendly, enthusiastic, supportive, and responsible. Being an ambassador, for
It was an absolute delight to have Alex in class this year. A bright, curious and motivated student, he worked confidently and independently on all class assignments, demonstrating a solid understanding of the concepts taught. Although Alex remained more of an attentive listener during class discussions, it was evident that he made a concerted effort to volunteer to share more of his thoughts and ideas with his classmates and teacher. His contributions were always greatly appreciated as they frequently enriched and deepened our understanding of the topic.
Always an attentive student, Ms. Davis is engaged and active during both instruction time and during the lab activity. Through the class, Ms. Davis is constantly improving and accepts feedback. She approaches assignments and group work with high energy and rigor. Although at times Ms. Davis may face difficulty she is constantly trying to better for herself and learn from her mistakes.
Class Implementation: I read this book and think that a high school student would enjoy it
