Washington University has one of the most highly regarded physical therapy programs in the nation. The program of study required to enter the physical therapy program is The Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences. Students apply to the division while applying to the school, and then,if accepted, are admitted to a specific program within the division (“The Division Biology and Biomedical Sciences”). Biochemistry would be the best program from the division for those looking to go to graduate school for physical therapy. The purpose of the biochemistry program is to research and use concepts of chemistry to understand biological processes. However, if students ever decide to change career paths, it is permitted to change programs within …show more content…

The university is a liberal arts school, and displays those values abundantly through its professors, scholarships, and clubs. Washington University in St. Louis places great emphasis on studying abroad and pursuing in-depth research within one’s particular field of study. These two factors set the university apart from others. The diversity and inclusion of all types of students, regardless of religion, race, or ethnicity, is immensely appealing. There is no doubt one would receive an education of high regard from Washington University in St. Louis. However, some of the values Washington University in St. Louis upholds cannot be supported by one of the Christian faith. Although a degree from Washington University in St. Louis takes students to unbelievable levels of success, and provides opportunities students never would have obtained without attending Washington University in St. Louis, sometimes one must give up the influential name and high prestige for God’s greater plan. David Platt said, “Radical obedience to Christ is not easy... It's not comfort, not health, not wealth, and not prosperity in this world. Radical obedience to Christ risks losing all these things. But in the end, such risk finds its reward in Christ. And he is more than enough for us (David
The place I will soon call my alma mater, Belmont University, is a place to discover one’s passions and dreams. At this institution, you begin to define yourself, find your true interest, and mold yourself into a God-fearing leader. Just as any other colleges, students transform into leaders, but what makes Belmont sets apart from the rest is our foundation. Belmont strives for their students to transform the world with disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage and faith. I am grateful to be at an university that has molded me to be a firm believer of what I am passionate about, and taught me to use that energy to go from here to anywhere.
As a Christian university that proudly holds morals as a high priority, Grand Canyon University should be setting an example for other colleges that their students are more than just a way to make profits. It is one thing for a student to run out of money because they are careless with it, but another thing when it is due to the university’s unfair price gouging.

In reading Bill Davis’ book, In All Things Christ Preeminent, it is evident that receiving an education at Covenant College will be a unique spiritual and intellectual experience. With Christ present in all areas of the school, the structure of the college and what it as an institution aspires to accomplish varies greatly from that of the high school I attended. Based on the Christ-like goals, instruction, and student body of Covenant College depicted in In All Things Christ Preeminent, receiving an education from Covenant seems vastly different from my secular experience at LaFayette High School.
This paper explores the history of Charleston Southern University located in the heart of the Lowcountry in Charleston, South Carolina. With its core Christian values, Charleston Southern achieves an atmosphere that most universities cannot. The history of this school can be pinpointed back to 1964 when it was initially founded (University History and Milestones, 2015). The early years were fairly rough, with low enrollment rates and very few majors being offered (Joslin, Merkling, & Strubel, 2014). However, the university went through countless changes that drove it to be the successful school that it is today. Now, Charleston Southern University is an academically excellent school and also a member of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. This school started as merely an idea and expanded into a thriving university full of thousands of students.

The Greek communities that have risen across the country have created huge impacts on every university that they have established themselves on. Historically, fraternities were designed for students to discreetly meet to discuss issues and host debates that their members believed would be deemed inappropriate by their collegiate faculties. Since their founding, fraternities and sororities have completely revamped their focuses. They are used as social, professional, and honorary organizations that promote many different combinations of community service, leadership, and academic success. The ideas of brotherhood and sisterhood have also transcended the college experience,
In the 1951-1960 Baylor University and other institutions across America were searching for ways to bolster organizational and academic legitimacy during a time where religion was a major part of the societal discussion. With Baylor being a major Baptist and religious institution the need to legitimize the value of a Baylor education was growing. In University President William R. White’s inaugural address he stated that, "Those who launched Baylor University had a definite concept of its two-fold purpose [which was] to serve the church and the state…and [the] world… they intended to influence culture and society with the great distinctive principles of [the University]. And they wanted to enrich and enforce the kingdom of God through
Young adulthood is a period of immense physical, spiritual and intellectual growth, especially for those fortunate enough to attend an institution of higher learning. Despite this growth, college students may decide to turn their back to their spirituality in favor of a logical and temporal existence. 18th century African American writer Phillis Wheatley delivers a positive religious message in her poem titled “To the University of Cambridge, in New England” that as a Christian college student, I appreciate. In this poem, Wheatley urges students to remain dedicated to their studies, but to also to have an appreciation of their own morality and the importance of escaping sins’ eternal presence.
Simpson College offers around forty clubs to keep their students busy on campus and possibly explore what we like and dislike. I think that the college does a great job of creating a variety of clubs for undergraduates of all interests. Also, if a student doesn’t see the club they want, the campus allows them to begin a club with approval. I believe that some of the clubs can help students get an internship and get opportunities to interact with professionals in their desired career. By being active in CAB, students can discover if they enjoy organizing events or speaking in front of large
They point out that these policies - which ask the Christian community to respect the dignity and uphold the value of all societal members, does not simply apply to those within the Catholic faith, but all sects of Christianity. Even professors and faculty find themselves pushing many college administrators towards truths, such as the respect and dignity of all human persons afforded within Catholic Social
Either way, physical therapy bound students are well off. Most physical therapy departments, offering a master’s degree, require students to take certain mathematics courses along with physics, biology, chemistry, and anatomy. Those who are in this four-year program often take human physiology and anatomy, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and anatomical kinesiology. These classes are taken over the course of one’s first four years of college. To obtain a master’s degree and eventually a license in physical therapy, the student must endure a couple additional years of schooling (Education-Portal.com).
