Behind Wrestlemania, SummerSlam is arguably the biggest pay-per-view event for the WWE every year. We analyzed every SummerSlam dating back to 1988 and categorized each title match over the 27 year history of the event. Some interesting trends came to light through the visualization of the matches over time. The WWE Championship has been contested every year since 1992, but changes hands only one out of every three matches. The Intercontinental Title, on the other hand, changes hands over 70% of the time when up for grabs at SummerSlam. Over that time period there have been 96 total title matches and 39 championships have changed hands. In addition, we profiled the 35 different match types that have taken place and payed homage to some of our favorites. …show more content…

African-Americans in the South after the Civil War were new to the concept of freedom, yet that very small two syllable word meant a lot to them. Slaves were not considered as a piece of property that could be used and abused by their slaveholders anymore. Slaves families were separated by the effects of slavery, so the freed slaves immediately tried to reunite with their families. News finally reached Texas about slaves being freed on June 19th, 1865, also called Juneteenth. Juneteenth is considered one of the oldest known celebrations that commemorated the end of slavery in the United States. The news of the Emancipation Proclamation did not reach Texas until about two years after its public awareness because there was little Union
In order to talk about the Freedom Summer project, we first have to identify it’s roots and the history behind it. Before the Freedom Summer project, there was the civil right movement in which thousands of African Americans protested for equality. Equality didn’t mean the term referred in the court case Plessy vs Ferguson “separate but equal.” African Americans wanted to end the era of segregation, this include not having to use lower quality public facilities than whites, not having to give their seats in a bus if a white person wanted to sit there, and the right to vote. With the help of different civil right activist such as Bayard Rustin, Jo Ann Robinson, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and all the people that marched and protested against
WWF fans were offensive, degrading young males (12-34), resembling the cartoon nature of the sport. They were drawn to the sexuality, aggressive commentary, and individual characters that the XFL was producing. XFL team logos and names were even chosen by 13-16 year old male focus groups. On the other hand, NFL fans were primarily older (over 35), male, and middle class. They believed in rules and structure, team play and being able to take sides. Football fans quickly took offense to the raunchy happenings of the XFL and the boring on-field performances. Rules were changed week after week, showing no consistency. Announcers were unknowledgeable, angering fans who tuned in to hear professional commentary. There was a reason why Las Vegas was the only successful team when it came to the XFL. It was “sin city,” a place where the image of the league was portrayed. Football fans wanted to see good
The World Series was created in 1903. The best team from the National League and American League would compete at the end of each season to be crowned World Series Champions. The American League has won 63 of the 110 World Series played, leaving 47 of them to be won by National League teams. The New York Yankees have won the most World Series, having won 27 of them. The St. Louis Cardinals have won 11.
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos – SmackDown Tag Team Title Match – Two of the best tag teams current and of all time, the Usos and the New Day put on a show. In the Summer of 1964, the Mississippi Summer Project, also known as Freedom Summer, was organized by several Civil Rights organizations such as the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee and the Congress on Racial Equality. The event that caused the start of Freedom Summer were that many African-Americans were not registered to vote, this was because the southern states had implemented literacy tests that were unfair and could be interpreted differently, and Poll Taxes which were ridiculous amounts to pay ("Freedom Summer"). Other causes include the case of Plessy Vs. Ferguson, which stated the “Separate but Equal” clause, and also Racial segregation. Freedom Summer Volunteers included White Northerners, and the organization was made to focus on the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, Voter Registration, Freedom Schools, and Community Centers (“Timeline: Freedom Summer”). There was a need for the Freedom Summer because Many African-American People in the south were being oppressed by Literacy Tests and Poll Taxes.
The World series is still continued today. Although there is now an entire postseason that consists of ten teams. These teams face off in the wild card, divisional, and conference championship. The two best teams from each conference still face each other. The series is now a best of 7 instead of a best of
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither were the accounts of history that glorify Roman Empire. Virgil crafts a very carefully worded and cautiously selected version of Roman history, that glorifies Rome and its deeds, atrocities and achievements alike. The catalogue of events, functions as a version of history or propaganda that supports and reveres the Roman Empire. The retelling starts with humble beginnings, “... licked her wolf pups into shape with a mother’s tongue” (Virgil 1062). It then follows with the beginnings of Rome as a city, then as a republic and finally as a fierce empire. Virgil traces an idyllic history of Rome, that glosses over any details that do not bring glory to the empire, and in doing so creates a propagandic version of events.

You know it, it's the one and only wrestling! You are probably living in a cave plus not be living your life's full potential if you don't know what wrestling is! Wrestling involves many things like its diet, its history, plus its rules!
And here we go! 4 of the biggest guys in the sport, no rules, title on the line. 4 men who are believed can’t be beaten. Champion disadvantage in the match, he doesn’t have to be involved in the outcome. Last month, story lines had Lesner vs Joe and Reigns vs Strowman. Joe came very close to beating Lesner. The 2 I want to see the most are the 2 that was rumored months ago for this event, Stowman vs Lesner. The couple of times they stood the crowd would go nuts, I would sit up in my room. Luckily for WWE, they have about 20 hours to rebuild the Barclays Center for Monday Night Raw. This match is barley 10 minutes old and it’s already the best of the night! Stowman legit put Lesner through not 1 but 2 announce tables and then lifted one and
