S.A.M.R. stands for substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition. The Saver model is the foundation  that provides a lens for having technology in the classroom. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is important in the field of instructional technology because it is paramount to ensure that teachers know how to use the technology that they are supposed to integrate into there classrooms. I also can say, that TPACK is extremely helpful in the corporate world as well. If I am expected to use the technology in the office and explain how to use it, I better be sure I know how the technology is being used. In the corporate setting, much like the classroom, if you don’t know how to use the technology you are integrating into office use, you will not only be frustrated but, those you are teaching

A leader must first of all be able to model the techniques and processes that they want their teachers to employ with the students. For this reason leaders should use an effective board spectrum of educational tools to help teachers reach students of the 21st century. One of the great tools being used today is the increase in the amount of technology used in the classroom. From iPad to chromo books to cellphones teachers are using these forms of technology to enhance and deliver grade level curriculum (Korach, Agans 2011 216-233).

TPACK-L is UConn revision of an existing framework for teachers’ competency with technology that expands Mishra and Koeler’s TPACK framework by adding Learning Theory (Slota, Young, Choi, & Lai, 2014). Although the TPACK framework on which it is based proposed the way to understand how to integrate technology in the classroom as a unique body of knowledge, technology integration practice is, more often than not, thought of as a set of pedagogical skills or strategies to simply utilize technology in pursuit of effective instruction. Given the omission of learning theory from the teacher competency framework, it might mislead us to understand teacher competencies as merely a skill-based knowledge (i.e., teaching as a straightforward enterprise). Yet, teaching is a complex intellectual work necessary to have a solid understanding of the foundational theories and knowledge about learning that drives effective instruction (Wilson & Peterson, 2006). Furthermore, without understanding the learning theory that underlay a particular innovation of a technology-supported instruction (e.g., Papert’s Logo, CTGV’s Jasper Woodbury videodisc series, educational games/simulations like Quest Atlantis or River City Project), teachers’ technology integration can cause fatal mutations of the implementation, which means that their practices may end up with being in opposition to the theory behind the designed program, not doing what researchers intended.

As we navigate through the 21st century, technology in the classroom is becoming further predominant. iPads are replacing our textbooks, and we can research any desired topic on our smartphones. The impact that technology has had on today’s schools has been utterly momentous. Educators have now seen firsthand the numerous benefits of technology in the classroom. According to a study by IT Trade Association CompTIA, around 75 percent of educators have come to the conclusion that technology has a positive impact on the education process. Educators have also recognized the significance of developing these technological skills in students so they will be prepared to enter the workforce after they graduate (Cox). Technology is important in our education today. Technology can be a vital tool in enhancing and improving the instruction for our students. Our technology today allows our students to search resources, use social media sites, and locate almost anything that they may be researching for a specific subject. Teachers need to know how to incorporate these tools into their curriculum in a way that facilitates and enhances student learning. Three technology tools that can be used inside the classroom effectively are classroom website, interactive white boards, and TED Ed.

When Information and Communication Technology is evolving rapidly, it is a challenge to keep up, and integrating it in the classroom is the other concern. Technology in education has become the buzz word in every educational environment (Chhabra, 2012). Learning now occurs almost everywhere. The teaching and learning process is not the traditional bricks and mortar anymore which confined between four walls. ICT tools like the internet, e-mails, printers, scanners, computers, interactive boards, i-pads, audio equipment, digital single lens reflex camera, smartphones, tablets, ‘phablets’, social networking medias are ruling the world of education. From the world’s most famous search engines like Google to the world’s most visited
