Teaching assistants may play a vital role in supporting children with SEN. Their tasks may include helping pupils with reading difficulties, supporting speech therapy programmes, and helping pupils to access the curriculum.
Education is the key to a fulfilling life. But for children with special educational needs and disabilities, obstacles can stand in the way of the right. Too often, the amount of help children receive depends on where they live other than their needs. For inclusive education to be effective, government, local authorities and schools must adapt their approach to support, curriculum and the built environment.

Creating an inclusive learning environment is an extremely important aspect of modern education, which, according to Gravells (2008: p18), ensures that “[…] all learners are entitled to be treated with respect and dignity. Everyone is an individual, with different experiences, abilities and needs.” She also offers a brief explanation of inclusivity (2008: p18), which is “[…] involving all learners in relevant activities rather than excluding them for any reason directly or indirectly.” Inclusion has also been defined by John Tomlinson (1996: p26) as “the greatest degree of match or fit between individual learning requirements and provision”. 1.1 I work as a Special Education Needs Teacher Assistant (SEN TA) in a year two classroom in a primary school; it is a small school with one class of around thirty children for each year, ranging from reception to year 6. In year two I work with aged 6-7 year old children, one teacher and a teacher assistant.
Whilst the role of the SENCO is varied, in most school’s it is the SENCO who is responsible for managing and deploying Teaching Assistants (TAs). According to the DfE, since 2000 the number of full time TAs has increased from 79,000 to 243,700, with 15% of these being in the secondary sector. This initial increase could be attributed to the Green Paper published in 1998 by the government, which set out their proposals to improve the teaching profession and raise standards of pupil performance (DfE, 1998). Their intention was to address the critical issue of support for teachers in the classroom, by increasing the numbers of TAs in schools by 20,000 (Blatchford et al, 2003).
As I started my undergraduate journey, I never thought I would end up where I am now. When I entered college, I thought that my degree in chemistry would be a stepping-stone on the way to medical school. My one and only goal, at the start of college, was to work as hard as I could to ensure that I would one day become a doctor. However, along the way I figured out that medical school was not where my passions lie.

Beginning on September 16th, I will become a Teacher’s Assistant. This position is temporary and for the fall only. Therefore, I am seeking a post-graduate full time position that will begin after May of 2017.
I am applying to be a teacher assistant for the 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Dickson. The reason I want to become a TA is because I think I would like to become a teacher. By watching and assisting the teacher this would allow me to have hands on experience. I think this experience would help me to decide if becoming a teacher would be a good fit for me.

So far most of the activities that I follow is the organization's activities and committees. I follow the activities normally associated publications, finance, or manage the event. In the 1st semester I get the value (GPA) that is less good, but it is not decided me to keep abreast of the organization's activities because I think more and more things that I follow the greater the sense of responsibility that I have, so I will be more clever in managing time.
