Teamwork Efficiency
Teamwork is imperative in organizations. In addition, an effective leader is needed to make sure that the team is on target, working towards goals that help the organization be successful. Furthermore, it is essential for senior management to be able to communicate through tough issues within the company and come up with solutions in order to keep the business efficacious. It is quite evident that just because they are the senior management does not mean that as a group they can solve any problems. “Bringing a group of highly-skilled individuals together is not sufficient for teams to be effective. Rather, team members need to be able to work well together in order for the team to successfully achieve its purposes” (McEwan, Ruissen, Eys, & Zumbo, 2017, p.1).

Barry Walkins, Vice President of Marketing, is highly creative, although unorganized and lacks follow through. His characteristics cause conflict with Billy Fale, Vice President of Production and Kent Donaldson, Vice President of Research and Development. Les Holly, Vice President of Sales, had less conflict due to his absence from the team, he spent most of his time in the field, and consequentially, he had a tendency to withhold information. In addition, he did have tension with Stephanie Krane, Vice President, and Controller, about the expense accounts, she tightened up with the salesforce. Frank O’Brien, Vice President of Personnel, had issues with Krane and her suggestions to put freezes on salaries because it would hurt the morale of
A meeting with all involved parties to discuss the issue is also another good way to resolve conflict. Everyone will have a chance to speak; this is a good opportunity to hear all sides of the story and gain a full understanding of the conflict.
The team leader’s ability to manage and improve team performance will be limited by his or her own authority and ability to influence others. There may be restrictions in terms of organisational policy; there may be financial, resource, or time constraints, or team members themselves may be reluctant to participate and to accept change.
It is the responsibility of all adults who care for children to protect them from harm. In accordance with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures and the Children Act 2004, First Steps Playgroup operates a child protection policy.
There is a saying that many hands make light work. The essence of this statement is that more can be achieved as a collective than individually. We all have different skills, knowledge and personal attributes. By utilizing all of these different aspects in a team, more ideas can be generated. As more ideas are generated, more creative solutions are generated, leading to better results. It is amazing the amount of support that is created in teams, especially when the going gets tough. People will often go to what seems like extreme lengths when they know that they can rely on the support and encouragement of the team. Never underestimate the significance of this in
Reflecting on experience is an important capability for an individual to be able to move forward. As (SOURCE) said, “(CONTEXT”). Moreover, individuals ought to be able to work not only individually, but also to work together in a group. Working with other people, especially whom you have not known is not as easy as it seems. In fact, it is quite difficult to develop an effective team. Through this reflection essay on the group presentation that I did last Monday, I have become more aware of useful strategies to deal with issues and understand what could be improved for future presentations. Developing teamwork skills is am important benefit for me as future professional workers.

At Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC), there are a variety of teams that make up the organization which includes the hospital and outpatient affiliated clinics. According to Northouse (2016), leadership is “a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal” (p. 6). Through this process, leaders help to create vision and direction for the team while engaging others on the team through motivation and inspiration, to reach a common goal (Northouse, 2016). Leadership and management are two different concepts. Management is involved with the operational oversight of employees, departments, or processes, while leadership is involved with leading the company through organizational changes that are intended to enable the company to meet its objectives. Leaders are expected to carry themselves in a positive manner to motivate and influence the rest of the organization positively, because they act as an example to the rest of the employees in the organization. Since leadership is mainly influenced by the behavior, different leaders apply different strategies to ensure that the objectives of the company have been fully met (Sheahan, 2006). This paper analyzes the leadership theories and the methods and tools given situations while selecting the appropriate behavior of different leaders in resolving some problems in the organization.

The central, resonating factor that causes teams to fail is a lack of trust in the motivations and actions of team members and a lack of transparency on the part of the leader (Hendrix, 1995). With no trust in team members and a leader, teamwork quickly disintegrates and teams fall apart. The role of the leader as a galvanizing force in the development of team dynamics must occur if a team is going to succeed. The critical success factors in creating this level of unified focus and effort within a team is to a large extent defined by a leader's unique skills sets and ability to create a culture of trust and focus on achievement.
A leading member or buddies of a team can provide social support for dealing with difficult tasks and situations.
Despite the advantages associated with a shared leadership approach, some disadvantages also exist. One disadvantage originates from individual interpretations of teamwork (Baghai & Quigley, 2012). In other words, not all people in a work environment view working together the same, posing a leadership challenge to clearly delineate the organization’s concept of team. Other disadvantages arise when workers chose to bypass or overlook some team members, or when an individual lacks the confidence to exhibit leadership skills resulting in organizational loss of leadership potential (Pearce, Wassenaar, & Manz, 2014).
