Television has greatly impacted our society and our day to day conduct. It has changed our lifestyles. It plays a major role in the growth of our culture. Television has now become one of the most important sources of entertainment for a lot of us. It works as an entertainer each day. Starting from black and white screens, television has transformed completely into the color from with high resolution. TV has progressed in terms of looks and features, with the technology the plasma TV invented which is slim in form and environmental friendly. Around the world, The United States is widely known as a leader in mass media production, like television and movies. There are very few inventions that have affected America as much as the television. Before 1947, the number of TV’s in the US could be measured in thousands, and by the late 1990’s about 98% of homes had at least one television set in it, which were on for on average, more than seven hours a day. The Typical American spends about 3-5 hours watching TV a day. TV became a way for Americans to either escape their lifestyle, relate to it, or keep up with current events. It has become a tool that the US uses to relate to each other
It has become so common in our life that there is at least one television in every home. They have become an inevitable part of our lives. We have to admit that we live in a consumption society where we are always surrounded by technological devices. For instance, while we are sitting at home, we watch television shows, series and TV commercials in general. While watching it, we spend less energy than we spend while sleeping. We do not use our imagination because it is all ready and complete in it. The television affects us with its so-called beauty and supervising our lives by telling us what we should do and not do. Almost all of the things shown on TV are enforcing people to want, to consume or act according to the ideas on it without questioning. On the other hand, it blocks the communication between people because it is so absorbing that we cannot even turn our eyes from it. Hence, we start to behave and think only for ourselves. It drags the society to be an individualistic one where everyone seeks for his own pleasure and be selfish all the time. We are being pushed to create unnecessary needs and wants. Some may think that we can shut television down any time we want and stop its effect on us. However, as it is some kind of addiction, certainly people will not be able to get rid of them right away. Some see it as their “family” which may sound creepy but even if one will
Television is so popular that it is almost a vital part of life to most people. According to the article “The Real Golden Age of Television”, the first successful demonstration of electronic television was introduced on September 7, 1927. (Handy & William). It was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Charles Jenkins is also an important person to the creation of television because he created the first mechanical TV on June 23, 1925. (D’Addiro). These two men are responsible for what we have today; good quality television. Since then television has brought tears, laughter, joy, and many other memorable moments to the lives of people. Television came to its own in the 1940’s and 1950’s. During this time period television began to emerge into the households many families. This was something new to people. Never would they have thought of being able to sit in watch entertainment out of a TV screen. Then in the 1964 was the beginning of the “old” golden age of television. The reason for this claim is for the invention of color television made it more popular (Clapp). All television programs were in black and white before this unbelievable creation. This gave television viewers a better experience than the past because they were able to see things differently. Though the era was magnificent there was more to come. Time advanced into the 2000’s and so did television. Many
The television was invented in 1927 by Philo Taylor. This was the world’s first electronic television. Television eventually made its way to America in the late 1940s. In the 1950s the television only provided three channels in the United States: NBC, CBS, and ABC (Kovarik 236). According to The Americans, by Jordan Winthrop, by 1960 “there were 52 million sets in American homes, one in almost nine out of ten households" (Winthrop 798). In the late 20th century the television was spread throughout the world. Over the years, there were many improvements to the television including color, cable, and definition.
Television was invented in the 1920’s and one of the most exceptional innovations of all time. Meanwhile, it is going to be 100 years old in a few years and still retain the primary source of entertainment for the kids, prolific for the teenagers and matures. Likewise, it is the major source of knowledge and amusement for every class of people as per their predilection. Similarly, watching television becomes a habit of the people from the past few decades when monochromatic picture turned into a vibrant color television. As for me, television means more than just entertainment and similarly the same television plays a different role for different members of the family, they also has appendage courtship with a television.
Before we television existed people had to depend on Radio stations to receive there little bit of entertainment and news. But in 1878, the invention of TV began. The first TV made didn’t look anything like the way TV’s look today, it was a mechanical camera with a large spinning disc attached to it (Kids Work). But as over the years, of course inventions of different TV’s progressed and by the 20th century about 90 percent of our population had a TV in their household(). Television today is mainly used for people take a break from their life by relaxing and enjoying some entertainment.

There is a trend at that is being captured across televisions in households everywhere. Politics, reality television, social media and public information is being broadcast from household to household. Television has in a way become a mode of how we think and interact with each other. The consumer demand for television as spiked dramatically, in the way we view ourselves and perceive others in the world around us is through a television screen. Although we are
The advent of television also caused a great impact in the American society that brought huge changes in the economy. American families during the 1950s started to replace radios, newspapers, and magazines as the leading media entertainment with televisions. They became common for families to unite and watch TV shows at noon. “Television as a product itself influenced the economy, creating what quickly became an essential household item. By 1957, over 40 million TVs were in American households”. Fundamentally, television altered how Americans utilize their free time, but economically there was even a major impact. Businesses around the country started to use the TV for advertising and marketing to sell their products easier. TV commercials

Television is one of the most popular ways to consume media. However, television wasn’t always the way it is today. Many changes took place in the television industry during the 1980s. Some of the important changes that took place in the 1980s were the new types of programming, the increase in the popularity of cable television, and new technology that was invented such as the remote control. Television had a huge effect on society through the way if affected the ways children could be educated and what people watched. It also had an enormous effect on the economy through changes in competition in the television industry and how musicians and their music could be made popular. Television in America in the 1980s affected society, technology, and the economy.
Television has had large impacts on American society once it became widely available, which occurred during the 1950s. Most American households owned a television. The creation of news outlets on television led to the American public to be exposed much that they wouldn’t ever have been exposed to without. There were no restrictions on the device yet for what they could or couldn’t show. Television would go on to create the largest impacts on American society, impacts that even continue today. Commercials became commonplace for the public, Civil rights would gain tons of support, and television would be one of the leading causes that attributed to the United States loss of the Vietnam War.
Before world war one, people could only receive information in their household from a radio or news paper. In the 1950’s the television became very popular, rather than in the 1940’s
