Autism, it is considered a death sentence when one is diagnosed with it. However, one woman overcame all odds and changed the world. Despite her autism, Temple Grandin became a well-known and well-loved book writer, helping thousands of people with autism. Temple Grandin was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mother's name was Eustacia, but her father is rarely ever mentioned. Eustacia noticed that Temple was a different kind of child. She had said nothing, she did not like being hugged or touched, and she did not play like other kids played. Of all things at the school, Temple's favorite thing to do was to ride horses, probably her favorite of all animals. Temple went to her aunts ranch, a place where she would make yet another big step that would lead to her entire future. At the ranch, she learned how to take care of livestock. As she watched a cow be put in a restraint, ideas occurred to her. Her aunt then found Temple in a cow restraint. When her aunt closed the restraint, Temple became calm. The cow restraint replaced the need for a hug. With this time at the ranch, Temple learned to love animals even more. Temple's mother pushed her to go to college, even though she did not want to go. Despite that she didn't want to go, this opening put her on the path to her future. While she was at the college, Temple made a restraint for herself. Her room mate did not approve of this and the college took the machine away. Her aunt came a few days later to talk to the college director. Despite their efforts to convince the man to allow her to use it at the school, the director would not allow it. Temple and her aunt then made a deal with the director. Temple would make a restraint and put several college students in it. She would then measure their heart rate and other things in the body to see how stressed or stress relieved they became. The test was successful, allowing Temple to use a restraint throughout

In the Movie, Temple Grandin, Temple is portrayed as a very sensitive girl, even though she does not comprehend emotions she feels them. Christopher on the other hand is not as sensitive as Temple he is a much more rational kind of person. When Temple first graduated from high school she spent the summer with her aunt at a farm, while she was at the farm she had a very strong connection with the animals. When Temple would see the animals felt pain she would feel pain and unlike most people she actually felt she had to make a change, after that point she dedicated her intellect to animals and improving their living standards. Temple went through a lot of fighting with her professors in order to major in animal husbandry. Temple believed that “Nature is cruel, but we don’t have to be” Temple Grandin. Temple acknowledged the problems in the world and decided to solve them and that takes someone not only who preservers but someone who is conscious of their emotions and listens to them. Christopher is not at all like Temple in this sense,
