The Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards is located in the Downtown Baltimore. One of our group members, Brandon Caldwell, is an employee of the F&B department. The location is perfect for tourists because it is within walking distance of some of Baltimore’s best tourist attractions. For example The National Aquarium, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Baltimore convention center, Camden Yards stadium (home of the Orioles baseball team), M&T Bank Stadium (home of the Baltimore Ravens), lots of restaurants/bars, and much more. This Marriott location is a mid-range to world class service type of hotel, features over 500 guest rooms and suites, and is family oriented. The hotel is under the resorts and suites target market, so it attracts families, professionals such as executives, delegates, businessmen, etc.
The following are examples of a standard Hotel Organization chart as well as a standard Rooms Divisions chart. This chart does not reflect The Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards or all Marriott properties:
According to an interview conducted by Brandon Caldwell, the Rooms Division department at the Baltimore Marriott Camden Yards works closely with housekeeping and front office. In the interview with Christopher Williams, one of the Assistant Rooms Operations Managers, Chris mentioned that the front office and the housekeeping department work together as far as “how they get their rooms turned over, how they have occupants of a room one day and
The Chesapeake Bay is a 200-mile-long estuary extending from Norfolk, VA to Havre de grace Maryland. On average this bay contains about 68 trillion liters of water. This bay is the largest estuary in North America. It inhabits more than 3,000 species of plants, animals, and fish. “Since the early twentieth century, the Chesapeake Bay has experienced serious environmental degradation. Problems include large reductions in sea grass, reduced amounts of finfish and shellfish (especially oysters and crab), seasonal depletions in dissolved oxygen, and increases in sedimentation.” (Atkins & Anderson, 2003) These changes are brought on by pollution (Eutrophication and Toxic Contamination), development, deforestation, and agriculture. And according
There is such a range of people walking the grounds (including visitors, visitors’ guests, college students, training staff, supervising staff, and contract workers) that ensuring proper security is important.
Ocean City is a beautiful vacation place, not just for the summer. Many people go there to relax, make memories and have a good time. It is a fun-filled, family-friendly vacation place that everyone will enjoy and it is worth the drive.
Stephen Crane’s short story, The Blue Hotel, is a very diverse and interesting story with many themes. One of the themes is consequences for your actions. In the story a man they called the Swede went to a bar and tried to force a Gambler to drink with him. He kept pushing and wouldn’t leave the man alone resulting the Swede being killed. Another theme in this short story is honesty. During the Story the Swede claimed while playing cards that another character, Johnny, was cheating. While Johnie denied it another guy at the table, known as the Easterner, also knew he was cheating, but he didn’t speak up resulting in Johnny and the Swede fighting. Consequently causing the Swede to go to the bar where he was killed. The Easterner felt guilty for the death of the Swede because if he only would’ve been honest about Johnny cheating the Swede would have never went to the bar where he was killed.
Some things on this earth are just magical. To some it may be the beach at sunset, to others it may be as simple as the drive to work in the morning. For me that place is Fenway Park in Boston Massachusetts.
In the heart of downtown Los Angeles nestled within the valley of Chavez Ravine lies Dodger Stadium. Overlooking green valleys and rolling hills with the skyscrapers of the city behind it, Dodger Stadium appears as the epitome of peace in bustling Los Angeles. Few would fathom that beneath this sanctum of the Los Angeles Dodgers resides a village of Mexican Americans. Critics ranging from muralist Judy Baca, to academic writers Tara Yosso and David García, to the people displaced themselves argue that the creation of Dodger Stadium can never be justified because it destroyed a village. The construction of Dodger Stadium served the common good according to the definition given in the International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences. The

The Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles serves as the home ground of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the city's Major League Baseball franchise. The 56,000 seat stadium first opened its doors on the 10th of April 1962, when the Dodgers played in their new home ground in front some 52,564 spectators. The Dodger Stadium was designed by O'Malley and New York-based architect and civil engineer, Emil Praeger as well as Edward Ficket, a Californian architect. The Dodger's Stadium is also the first privately funded ballpark since the construction of the Yankee Stadium in 1923.
There is a towing company in central florida that does something similar on the beach boardwalks, they put the signs up facing AWAY from the lot so you can't see them until you actually get out of your car and go to the beach, and they will have an employee in plain clothes and a binocolar calling the towing truck so by the time you go to move your car, it's already loaded up and there's "nothing they can do" so you have to pay hundreds of dollars to get your car back. It's basically extortion, its terrible.
The community that I will be describing is the city of Long Beach. In this city there are many people of age and ethnicity. This city is very diverse in having many people of different cultures and backgrounds. Downtown Long Beach is where people go to eat, have fun and hang out near the Pike. At the Pike is where you’ll find a lot of young people going to the movies or shopping. In this city it is filled with young adults and they are the majority of the community. A lot of the young adults have jobs and there are some that are going to school. Younger adults are more prone to trying new things which sometimes can lead into a health issue. In this city I will be discussing a main health problem that might be relatable to other cities. The health problem that will be discussed is the use of tobacco products in young adults. Some products are cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, chewing tobacco, and hookah. These products are used daily by young adults in this community.
Would it be worth giving everything up just to fight for a cause that you and the people of your race believed in? Many would say yes and do anything in the world to get the rights that they think they deserve. In history, there have been many famous activists who stood up to the US Government and fought for their races rights. One group was the 50 men from Port Chicago that stood up to the US Navy during WW2. The soldiers of Port Chicago protested out of their free will, were penalized for acting upon the issue, and made a difference in the US Navy and all over the country.
Your article on the Miami Herald website called “Will Florida Bay survive the summer?” opened my eyes as to what is going on in the Florida Bay and has inspired me to bring awareness to the sea grass die off during my research trip to the Florida Bay. This week, I did my own research to measure the salinity of the Bay and the water temperature to compare the results to the last sea grass die-off which occurred in the early 1990s. I have discovered that the temperature of the bay in the summer of 2015 compared to the temperature in the summer of 1990 increased astronomically. In fact, the temperature was 93 degrees when I made my measurements and just to confirm my measurements I sent emails to researchers
In the movie, “On The WaterFront”, I would apply the theory of virtue ethics to the problem that Terry faced in corrupt union. According to virtue ethics, “we know what is morally correct because it is what the virtuous person or one who has good characters would do” (module 7). Virtue ethics is different than the theory of utilitarianism and deontologism. The action isn’t judged by its outcome or rule but by a person who acts. Virtue ethics looks deeply into a person’s soul. It looks for a person’s good characteristics. It claims that no matter what you do as long as your are a virtuous person, your action is morally correct. For instance, a honest person is put into a situation where he has to choose either to tell his Mom about his Dad’s affair or not to. He loves both of his parents. He knows his Mom would leave the house if she knew the truth. He nevers wants them to be separated. His Dad will be in big trouble if his secret gets revealed. But, it wouldn’t be fair for Mom staying home and cooking for the family while Dad is happy with another woman. Also, he never hides things from his parents before. Therefore, he decides to tell his Mom the truth despite of the fear of separation and Dad being mad at him. We are not born with innate good character traits. We develop good potential from time to time as we grow. In order to develop virtues, we have to keep practicing them until they become a habit.
On the Waterfront is a classic, award-winning and controversial film. It received eight academy-awards in 1954, including best-picture and director. The director, Eliza Kazan, in collaboration with Budd Schulberg wrote the film’s screenplay. Based on actual dockside events in Hoboken, New Jersey, On the Waterfront is a story of a dock worker who tried to overthrow a corrupt union.
“On the Waterfront” was photographed in such a captivating way. Boris Kaufman had a vision ahead of his time. Many scenes in the movie are understood, not just through the script, but from the cinematography as well. Three scenes in particular catch my eye. It is the artistic style and flare of conveying the same idea in multiple mediums. The first scene is when Terry and Edie are on the rooftop at Joey’s pigeon coup. This scene portrays the moment in which I believe was the catalyst for Terry that lead him to be truthful to Evie and stand up to Friendly. The second scene that I will speak about is when “Kayo” Dugan is killed. When the preacher is giving his speech to all the longshoremen. That speech was a testament of one man speaking out for what he knew was right. The third scene that I will choose for this essay is where Terry walks to Friendly’s dock office. After the fight, Terry’s march to work puts you on the edge of your seat. Each scene has depth that few movies achieve.
