The Benefits Of Physical Education In Schools

Physical Education Today, society is completely different than it was ten years ago. The nation used to be one filled with children spending their entire days on bikes, jumping on trampolines, playing with their siblings, and running around until the sun set each day. Today, children and adolescents are obsessed with technology and spend more time watching a TV screen or looking at a phone than they do spending time outside exercising. In addition to children not exercising as much as they should, schools are not making P.E. a required class, so many students opt out of taking the class. Physical activity is a very important aspect of one's health and even though that is a known fact, Physical Education classes are still not required every day by some schools around the nation. Due to the fact that some students do not have to take P.E., some become not as aware as they should be on how to take care of their bodies by exercising and eating healthy. Although some would disagree, Physical Education in schools should be mandatory every day because participation in physical activity promotes health, helps students begin to develop healthy habits for the future, teaches students how to exercise properly, and leads to a decrease in childhood obesity. Even though Physical Education classes can benefit many people towards the future, some believe that Physical Education in schools should only be taken once a week rather than every day.
