Human activities is the cause of Global Warming
Global warming is an on going issue that exists and affects the entire globe. It is defined as the increase in the overall temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere. The science behind global warming explains its occurrence as incoming sun radiation in the form short waves is transmitted to the atmosphere. Then the Earth’s surface absorbs the radiation. Once the radiation is absorbed it is converted into long wave radiation, which takes about two to three hours; after its conversion the surface emits long wave radiation back to space. However, some of the long wave radiation gets reradiated back since it is not able to pass through the atmosphere due to the weakness of the long waves. Green house gases such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, ozone, and more then absorb the reradiated radiation causing the Earth to warm, which is known as the green house effect. The intense warmth of the Earth’s surface has lead to global warming. Despite, global warming being a global issue it is also a controversial issue. Since scientists are unable to come to an agreement upon the “real” cause of global warming. The scientific realm is a divided spectrum, where one side such as the International Panel on Climate Change argues, that cause of global warming is due to anthropogenic activities, which have caused the significant increase in the concentration of green house gases. On the other end of the spectrum the Non-governmental International
Global warming is one of the biggest problems facing the world today. Global warming is the rise in the earth’s mean surface temperature due to increase of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which affects life forms on the earth’s surface. The scientific consensus as summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is that the global average surface temperature has risen over the last century. Many scientists believe that global warming is caused mainly by the production of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) and any fabricated pollution without taking into account the natural factors. The earth is kept warm due to what is known as the greenhouse effect. Without it the earth would be frozen; the short wave length of ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun penetrates the atmosphere and is absorbed by the earth, which thereby warms the earth. These gases are known as greenhouse gases. The effects of global warming include increased temperature, rise in sea levels, increase in insects that spread disease and tropical storms. A greenhouse gas does not cause these effects. The Great Global Warming Swindle documentary shows a group of scientists through scientific research that carbon dioxide is not responsible for global warming. They believe the real cause of global warming is the sun. Global warming is caused by the sun
Global warming is a gradual process of heating of earth’s surface and whole environment including oceans, ice caps, etc. The global rise in atmospheric temperature has been clearly noticed in the recent years. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in the past century there is increase in the earth’s surface average temperature by around 1.4-degree Fahrenheit. It has also been estimated that global temperature may increase by another 2 to 11.5 degrees F in the next century.
The world is changing to the point where humans are not able to put things back how they were years ago. Global warming is the concern of many people. Some people show they care by changing their lifestyles and adapting to the world for the temperatures to remain comfortable, and others are continuing to do what they do to make global warming expand. Global warming is “a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants” (Bradford, 2014). Global warming has caused sea levels to rise, glaciers to melt, and different species to adapt to a new life.
Global warming is having a huge effect in today’s world, and for that we must do something about it. The main causes of global warming are, burning coal and other fossil. CO2(carbon dioxide) is one of the seven greenhouse gases in our atmosphere and accounts for 84 percent of greenhouse gases produced by human activity. The majority of this is from burning fossil fuels for electricity and transportation.
Global Warming is the result of the increasing in overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere that is generally attributed to the Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse Effect is caused by the increase of the levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and other pollutants (Wollersheim) in the earth’s atmosphere. Global Warming is a fact, not fiction but some people still think is it not affecting our earth’s planet. The fact is if we don’t take care of the problem now life on earth will not exist. This is an important topic that needs to be addressed before there is nothing left for the human race which includes animals and plants or any living things that live on this planet. This is no joke, but in this society, people think nothing is going to happen to our planet, I agree it probably will not in my lifetime but what happens in 100,200 years. Look at what scientist have discovered over the past decades with the globe is heating up on land and the oceans. Scientist have been studying this since the 1880s, (Pappas) we need to be educated on how to save our planet. Most scientists agrees that the main cause is human expansion of the greenhouse effect. There are facts the glaciers are melting, the sea is warming and causing the levels of the water to rise which is causing all wildlife to scramble to find a safe place to go. Take the polar bears, with all the glaciers melting they are dying out because of the perennial ice is melting. All of this
Climate and atmospheric changes on earth occur because of natural resources or human activities. Both effects are closely linked because what humans do on earth effects the environment and surrounding return in back to glacial potions, seas, mountain sides and deserts which might turn back to our climate in form of volcanic changes, temperature of our surroundings, snowfalls and heavy or less rainfalls [USGS (2014)].
Global warming is depressing affecting the earth, as we speak. While some disagree with this belief, scientific studies clearly state the amending of our natural surroundings. Furthermore, there are countless ways we can slow these effects and prevent further damage. Climate change is a modern problem, with global environmental patterns with consuming fossil fuels that we are strongly accountable for.
Global warming, the rise of average global temperatures year, after year. A serious issue yet many people fail to pay much attention to it, or even realize how much of a problem it is. Some people think it’s a hoax from lack of proof, but some scientist would argue otherwise. Human activity such as burning fossil fuels is the main contributor to global warming, as it releases large amounts of C02 into the atmosphere (May). With deforestation happening every day less, and less trees are available to absorb the C02 released into the air. The average temperatures within the US have been rising. This creates droughts, evaporation of lakes, major storms, and devastating floods (May). To combat global warming it is important to support the development of clean renewable energy, such as solar power. Not only is solar a free source of energy, it is clean in that it doesn’t emit C02, and it creates thousands of well-paying jobs. Global warming is caused by human activity, and has large devastating effects on our environment, to sustain a growing human population we must seek alternative energy such as solar power.
Over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has been increasing at the fastest rate ever recorded. Experts say that the heating rate is only going to increase, while people who deny this say that there has been a “slow down” or “pause” in the rising global temperatures. Scientists say that unless something changes, the average U.S. temperature could increase by 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century. (1) Almost 100% of the global temperature increases have been the result of increased greenhouse gas concentration like water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone. One of the largest sources of greenhouse gas is the burning of fossil fuels leading to the emission of carbon monoxide. (2) Most scientists have agreed that the main cause of the current global warming is the expansion of the “greenhouse effect”. (3)
Global warming refers to the high rate of increase in the global average surface temperature in recent years (National Aeronautics and Space Administration [NASA], 2017). Since the late 19th century, the global average surface temperature has increased by about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit, and most of the warming occurred within the last 35 years (NASA, 2017). These rising temperatures are a result of the “greenhouse effect,” which is described as follows:
Imagine a barren world. Imagine a world with complete cities under water. Picture a world with thousands of extinct species, or a world so hot you cannot even walk outside without searing pain from the sun. Sounds like a syfi book doesn’t it? What is even crazier is that it is not an impossibility. Although some scientists view Global Warming as a natural occurrence, according to recent data the overall warming of the earth has dramatically increased since the 50s causing carbon pollution, the alteration of earth’s climate system, and more frequent and severe weather.
Global Warming is an important topic and it’s something everyone needs to look into. It can cause a lot of problems and damage. A decade ago, the idea of global warming probably wasn’t much of a concern. In this essay, the things that will be addressed are why global warming is important- the evidence, what causes it and the effects of it, the impact how we can prevent it, and other information on it.
Since the industrial revolution human activities have enhanced the greenhouse effect causing global temperatures to rise significantly.
Global warming over the past 50 years has been experiencing rising global temperatures from the human trend “greenhouse effect”. The role on human activity have produces greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide causing much of earths temperatures rising over the past 50 years. The impacts of Global warming are fueling frequent droughts, heaver rainfall, hotter heat waves, and powerful hurricanes. Global warming occurs when greenhouse gasses, carbon dioxide, and other hazardous collect in earth’s atmosphere absorbing sunlight and solar radiation trapping heat and causing temperatures to rise. In the United states, the burning of fossil fuels to make electricity is the largest source of pollution, producing carbon dioxide. Fossil fuel burning such as coal and oil power plants are the country’s biggest polluters. The country’s second largest source of carbon pollution is transportation sector. Transportation sectors such as automobiles, planes and trains generates about 1.7 billion tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year. Due to the advancements of scientist, energy efficient technology, modernized power plants now burn less fossil fuels decreasing the emission of carbon dioxide. As a result, the effects of global warming are melting glaciers, effecting agriculture, disruption of habitats, and the spread of conditions favorable to pathogens.
