In today’s global business environment, a company or organization needs to take social responsibility. Therefore, a code of conduct should be created because it is important as it is served as the guideline for the company or organization. A good guideline can provide to the employees a course of action on how to deal with unexpected situation. It also helps to construct a positive working environment and trust between the company and employees. A good set of rules can also help shape the company to a better culture and value, and distinct itself from the competitors. As in the field of apparel industry, for a company to become ethical is necessary because it effects our overall living conditional, from the smallest part of the garment, fiber, to the discard of the garment.
Code of Conduct As an owner of an apparel manufacture who does not just produce its own garments but we also work with oversea suppliers, retailers, and costumers we to create our Code of conduct, that is used to ensure all aspects of our products are fulfilling the need of our community. Our first principle is that we do not use child labor because we understand it is harmful for both mental and physical developments of the child. Children who are under the age of 18 should have the opportunity to go to school for education instead. Our second principle is that we promise for fair wage, we want to ensure our workers receive their payroll on time and their wages are enough for their basic needs

It’s a set of guidelines that must be followed to make ethical choices when conducting work related matters. Code of ethics is an organizations form integrity. This paper will discuss what an appropriate code of ethics is, and summarize the features of deontological, consequentialist, and virtue of ethics in a professional code of ethics. It will also analyze both the advantages and disadvantages of each approach to ethical theory in the context of the workplace.
We as business owners, management and or in a role of authority must set, address and comply with a solid foundation of ethics. “A code of conduct is the single most important element of your ethics and compliance program. Systems will be developed and put in place to monitor, audit, and report ethics violations. A time-line to re-evaluate these programs and their effectiveness towards meeting the companies social responsibility goals will be established. Based on the evaluation a revision or revamp of the program if necessary will be initiated. The ethics program needs to be reviewed and understood by all employees and expectation for compliance very clear. This can be accomplish by tying compliance in some form to employees and leadership individual performance goals. Shareholders all the way down to entry-level employees will benefit from the ethics program which will also put the company on track to being more socially responsible. Once a code of ethics is in place and training has been given, then Company Q can begin developing trust within the company and employees as well as the community. Continued education and training will enable the company to become more socially responsible.

Its been quite a long time here I have been interning at one of the most prestigious and reputed company, Google and I am proud that its code of conduct is designed around the motto “Don’t be evil”, emphasizing challenging ethical scenarios and rigorous service policy. Google made this motto a central pillar of its corporate identity, outlining various ethical issues relating to workplace and environment.
Codes of conduct are policies including rules such as maintaining honesty, attitude, and respect (Traveler, 2009) for co-workers, the organization and customers. Only by separation of personal ethical choices in the work place, will an organization succeed and flourish. It is never appropriate for any employee, management or otherwise, to conduct business for personal gain.
