Human activities are impacting the environment by adding more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and this is negative since more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere means unclean air and a hotter Earth. According to the article “Concrete: What is the big deal?” the author informs the reader about concrete by explaining, “In 2011, we used approximately 3.6 million tons of the stuff within the construction industry - the problem being that for every ton of cement produced, one ton (1,000 pounds) of CO2 is also produced.” This demonstrates the negative effect of humans creating concrete. When humans produce concrete, they become responsible for about 4-5% of the Earth’s total CO2 emissions which is caused by humans’ cement production which is within
Every year the average American produces over 22 metric tons of CO2 living a normal life (“What is Carbon Neutrality,” 2008); and the United States as a whole produces 6,049,435 metric tons of CO2 yearly (“List of Countries by CO2 Emissions,” 2010). This disturbing figure is the main cause of global warming and we have yet to take responsibility for our actions. There are many different theories of what has caused global warming and the answer is mankind. Humans are the cause of global warming because of pollution, over population, and deforestation.
We ask ourselves how might human activities have affected global climate change? Well human activities contribute to climate by causing changes in earth's atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases and cloudiness. Mostly it is burning fossil fuels. This releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere. There are many ways that the humans can affect our environment. Deforestation, burning fossil fuels, and hydrocarbons are ways this can affect. In this paper i will explain how each one contributes to global warming. I will support my discussion with evidence and consequences of the effects of each activity. It will also have alternate energy and solutions included that are most sustainable in our area.
people do not realize how much it is affecting our environment, one major negative effect is that it causes global warming.
Do you know how people are canheing and harming the world. Humans are polluting the air. This is because we are not limiting CO2. People are not only polluting the air also the earth and oceans. The most significant effect that people have on the environment is pollution because people are dying and the world is changing.
Human activities are raising the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In today 's world, energy is very important because
CO2, CO, VOC, PM10). However, it is my opinion, that we can focus our efforts to better materials as seen on the diagram and impact potentials. For example, while Los Angeles is moving toward a new urbanism lay out and the benefits are plenty, if buildings are wasting energy, or factories are using wrong materials to process their work. Then ultimately, we are simply just breaking even at the end of the day.
The following quote reveals the outcome and effect of modifying creations made by mother nature, “sinkholes broke out, opening in people’s backyards, full of hot steam and carbon monoxide” (Briceno); proving that modifying establishments made by nature can injure humanity. The people living in the area were killed or had their personal belongings destroyed. Also, not so long ago, Mexico suffered a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that destroyed several of people’s homes and unfortunately killed hundreds of people. Nonetheless, the author is trying to confirm that this all goes back to us to the people. We contribute to the environments global warming that leads to certain
Exploitive human actions damage the earth. Human’s daily habits cause rising temperatures from carbon dioxide emissions. The excessive use of coal, oil, and natural gas leads to more carbon dioxide emissions, which traps more heat causing the temperature to rise (Friedman 32). For example, in the last 100 years, scientists measured an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide from 280ppm to 400ppm (124). Based on research conducted by NOAA, temperature and the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide have a strong correlation. Temperature rises as carbon dioxide rises. The growing population of the world leads to increased exponential resource consumption and growing levels of carbon
How does human activity make the greenhouse effect worse? In now day, almost every country, every people talking about environmental protection problem. One of the biggest part affecting the environmental is greenhouse effect. And the greenhouse effect getting worse that the root cause is ourselves: human activity. In life, some of the small act we never pay attention for that, but that act may be one of the cause to make the greenhouse effect worse.
Today carbon emissions are the highest they have been in the world since the industrial revolution and if we don't change, we could destroy whole ecosystems. According to recent studies the united states is the leading producer of carbon emissions in the world. We need to address the issue and start a cause for change before everything is damaged.
Humans are the main factor in the ongoing climate change. Many daily activities contribute to climate change. These activities include the burning of fossil fuels (“A Blanket Around the Earth”). Co2 is the main heat trapping gas (“How Do We Know That Humans Are the Major Cause of Global Warming?”). Humans produce a lot a CO2 every day. When individuals burn fuel, CO2 is released into the atmosphere. The fuels that are being released are jumbling with earth’s natural greenhouse gasses. For every gallon of gas that is burned, 1300 times that of CO2 is released. Also a gallon gas weighs 6lbs, but the CO2 that is released weights over 19lbs (“How Much Does Human Activity Affect Climate Change?”). CO2 is also emitted from farms, landfills, and power plants, which are all human run facilities (“How Do We Know That Humans Are the Major Cause of Global Warming?”). Human activities can also alter earths’ reflectivity. When we construct roads and farm we alter earth’s reflectivity. This causes sunlight to reflect
During manufacturing of 1 ton of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) we need about 1 – 1⅓ tons of earth resources like limestone, etc. Further during manufacturing of 1 ton of Ordinary Portland Cement an equal amount of carbon di – oxide are released into the atmosphere. The carbon – di – oxide emissions act as a silent killer in the environment under various forms. In this backdrop, the search for cheaper substitute to OPC is a needful one which the study will provide information. (Online, 2012)
Almost every activity a human is involved in, creates a greenhouse gas. Every day those gases are destroying our atmosphere, and changing natural events in nature. Not only are humans destroying the atmosphere, most humans do not understand what they are doing. From cutting down trees for buildings and paper, throwing away garbage, turning on an air conditioner, producing food, and multiple other things, humans have destroyed earth’s atmosphere to the point where humans would have to plant 50 million hectares, or 123,552,691 acres of trees to reverse the damage we have done to our
SAMPLING: The first step is to take a test sample from the large batch of concrete. This should be done as soon as discharge of the concrete commences. The sample should be representative of the concrete supplied. The sample is taken in one of two ways:
Earth is the only place in the universe that can support human life. It is very important that we realize this fact and take very good care of it. Various human activities cause the destruction of earth. Human beings can live a few days without food and water however humans can last only a few seconds without oxygen. Various human activities lead to the aggravation of the quality of air. Gases produced by human activities mainly due to exploitation of resources and industrialization cause air pollution. Green house gases mainly chlorofluorocarbons; carbon
