The Amboyna Massacre occurred in 1623 on the island of Ambon in present day Indonesia where twenty men were executed on the accusation of treason by the hands of the Dutch East India Company. Ten of these men were members of English East India Company who were trading at a post belonging to the Dutch East India Company. The Amboyna Massacre would result in an intensifying feud between the English and the Dutch, and would be a symbol for growing European power throughout the world.

The first colony in the region where New Amsterdam would be built was at first just a Dutch trading post and fort. In 1624 Dutch traders under the Dutch West India Company established the colony of New Amsterdam for their fur trading and other goods. The Dutch traders came to this region from the Netherlands to skin fur of exotic beast. Others later came to the settlement to protect the fort and to farm for the soldiers. Most of New Amsterdam population were mainly traders, soldiers, and some farmers. Also, he was a supporter of members of the Free Will Baptist movement. Furthermore, the ownership of the Middle Colonies caused much commotion between the Dutch and English. Initially, the Dutch were in possession of the colonies, but the English disliked them for creating a divide between all of the colonies and for allowing smugglers to bypass certain laws. An English fleet seized control of New Amsterdam, and James

Many years ago explorers founded the Middle Atlantic colonies. One of the most important explorers that founded the Middle Atlantic Region was Henry Hudson. In 1609 Henry Hudson arrived in the Atlantic states. Hudson was one of the first European to step foot there. He sailed a ship called Half Moon through the entire coast of the Atlantic states. Hudson’s crew saw many rivers and deep bays that in the future was going to be transformed into a colony. Hudson steered Half Moon, his boat, through one of the rivers of that region. Later that river would be named after him and be called “Hudson River”. Hudson claimed the land along the Hudson River to Holland. Many factors helped Hudson and the colonists to built the colonies. Some examples of those factors are the migration of different people to the Middle Atlantic colonies, a fertile and proper land to plant and grow crops and animals, and deep bays to build harbors.
Three major colonies set up by England were Jamestown, New England and Maryland. Although they had a few similarities, each colony had different goals and different ways in which they were set up in order to reach those goals. Jamestown was a major England colony. It was also a Royal Colony which meant that they were directly controlled by the English monarch. Their main goals were God, gold and glory.
They were more commonly categorized as federalists, and antifederalists. Contrary to what history had previously recorded, the colonies all instituted from their mother colony, were able to rally together and form a sort-of cooperation, albeit, rocky. The colonies had the luckiness of being right next to the Atlantic Ocean, which can be shown on Document H, The Thirteen Colonies in 1763. This gave them one thing in common, which was their coastline, and since they were all sitting right on top of each other, it was simpler to ordinate attacks and act more as a unified body than split up body parts. Winning the war had only made the colonies' relationships worsen. It was nearly impossible for them to agree unanimously on simple topics, let alone the set-up of a new government; yet they did have one rallying point. They found that point in George Washington, a well-liked war leader, who exercised fairness and justice. Eventually they set him as their president, and he led the colonies as a whole, paying close attention that they followed their federal ruling along with their separate state decisions. Central leadership was a hot topic in the colonies, many states arguing against giving a single man so much power as to lead the whole country as a king, so they agreed to put restrictions on him. This one step slowly eased the colonies into adjusting to

Stuyvesant’s reign as governor of New Netherland did not run as smoothly as both he and the company thought it would. Stuyvesant was left to deal with an untrusting public who had a taste for representative government and despised the perceived “autocratic control” Stuyvesant had over the colony. Eventually in 1664 Stuyvesant and the Dutch West India Company lost their colonial holdings when a small but powerful English invasion fleet arrived to conquer the Dutch colony. Stuyvesant, realized that he was outgunned and that his small mostly untrained defense force would be unable to defeat an organized British army and surrendered. Thus, this ended 40 years of Dutch colonialism in North America while giving the English full control of the

College was built for the natives to learn how to read, and write. The colony traded the natives well, and the natives liked all the good care, some of them wanted
Due to the people being born in the colony, they have a different relationship with the mother country than those that were born and moved from the mother country into the colony.
