The Effects of Animal Testing
Animal testing is by far, inhumane and downright unacceptable. Although, there are various types of organizations that are pro-animal care, such as, Animal Welfare information center, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare and, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or, PETA, all in which do their best to keep animal testing as humane as possible, there are alternatives for finding cures or testing the safety of certain products. Animal cruelty is detrimental to numerous species enduring studies in labs; the importance of companies noticing this tragedy could save millions of animal lives, all while having the same outcomes and benefits for humans or more desirable results.
Animal testing is animal cruelty. The animals or "guinea pigs" per say, used in these experiments are being held captive, obviously against their own will since they cannot speak, and are under extreme stress. In spite of the fact that, animals cannot voice their discomforts, they do so by refusing to eat or remaining still as opposed to engaging in normal activity (Schreiner). Particular tests performed lead to genetic mutation and sometimes forced pregnancies. In the online article, “Effects of Animal Testing,” Schreiner states that, “Genetic mutations are induced to test the validity of a scientific principle or the effect of the manipulation of one or more of the animals’ genes.” Thus, leading to ineffective interactions
