The Election of 2016 As a nation, American’s face many issues that must fixed be as a whole. We face issues about our healthcare, education, taxes, immigration, etc. In the election of 2016 the two most important issues to focus on are healthcare regarding abortions, and the second amendment. Healthcare has been an ever-changing controversy, especially with the recently instated Obamacare in 2010. Between the two presidential nominees, Obamacare and abortion have been a debatable topic of choosing whether or not our country will face the direction of pro-life or pro-choice. Secondly, the next issue to focus on is the second amendment, which states that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Recently, with the 2016 election underway, the second amendment has also been controversial in debating how far gun control should be taken. The two nominees for the 2016 election are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton is Democratic presidential nominee for the 2016 election. She was born October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois and is married to Bill Clinton. She attended Yale University to earn her law degree and met Bill Clinton, a fellow law student whom she later married in 1975. She served as first lady from 1993 to 2001, U.S. senator from 2001 to 2009, and in 2009 she was sworn in as a part of president Barack Obama’s secretary of state, which she served until 2013.
