Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is actually a fairly new disorder. The first known case of ADHD was reported in 1798 by Sir Alexander Crichton. He then published three books on ADHD and other mental illnesses. The disorder became more acknowledged in 1844 due to Heinrich Hoffman, a German physician. He created many children’s books on ADHD, which some are still popular to this day.
