The United States of America is the land of equal opportunities People come here when they seek a better life for not only themselves, but also their family. With the population of unauthorized immigrants of 11.1 million in the U.S., 13% of them do not speak any English. There is a big problem at hand with that many people in the United States unable to communicate efficiently. The Helping Hand Project plans on helping these undocumented immigrants learn how to read and speak English so that way they can become more productive members of society, to help further their road to citizenship, and to help relieve stress in communities by offering free English classes.

citizenship, unauthorized immigrants must first establish their eligibility. A requirement to be eligible is to be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. With English being said to be the hardest language to learn, it would be nearly impossible to learn it without help. With more undocumented immigrants staying in the United States, investing in their legal citizenship is a smart choice. By offering free English classes, the Helping Hand Project would bring undocumented immigrants one step closer to becoming legal U.S. citizens.
Speaking to someone who does not speak the same language is like talking to a wall. Neither person understands what the other person wants. With such a high percentage of illegal immigrants unable to speak English, american citizens come in contact with plenty of people that they cannot talk to efficiently. This leaves people with a lot of unwanted and not needed stress and tension. The Helping Hand Project relieves this tension and stress by taking the confusion out of the equation. With more English speaking immigrants, U.S. citizens can communicate with everyone in their community without a
How are Hispanics getting help with English and what obstacles or barriers are they facing? That is an extremely good question. Everyday, more and more Hispanics are making a move to the United States in hopes of a better life. The only problem is that many of them can not speak any English at all. Since the United States is basically an English speaking nation, it is important that Hispanics learn English to be able to adjust to life within the United States. But, that is easier said than done because it is not easy to get Hispanics the help that they need in learning English. There have to be people who are willing to tutor and fund programs. Of course, there are always obstacles or barriers that stands in the way of progress.
Even the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Health and Human Services (HHS) are rallying support for those citizens who do not currently speak English well or at all. The EEOC is fighting
It is important for immigrants to learn to speak and write in English while keeping their native tongue. Without knowing how to speak the common language here, it is impossible to blend
Communication is part of everyday life between people and can be used in many different ways. People communicate to build relationships with one another, but also to maintain those relationships formed. When a relationship is built through communication, people then can express their needs, wants and feelings to each other, as well as being able to reassure an individual. Communicating allows people to share thoughts, ideas and information to others where

Especially difficult because you already common with native tongue and now had to speak with different tongue. The immigrant children and children of immigrant contribute to one of the fastest growing America’s child population. With children perspective, according to Global Citizen: “ With regards to school, parents often feel disappointed to see their children struggling to keep up in class, and many parents report bullying and discrimination as a result of cultural differences. Kids are often placed by their age rather than by their ability, and for those who are unable to speak English, it’s virtually impossible to keep up.” Not just adult, children have to deal many struggle while they at school. In regards to our group immigration topic, through the research done for the proposal I have learned the many ways the community offers language assistance for all ages. The community aids all immigrants no matter their primary language, and the assistance is easily obtainable. For youth, the school districts offer testing level classes for all immigrant children to be able to catch up and be in the grade level they are tested into. In addition, the school districts offer
Granting the New Beginnings' facility to youth immigrants will provide them with the education they need. Coming to the United States at a young age, the immigrant children will be taught elementary to college-based work. The children will be exposed to different languages and learn to speak English just as Americans do. As they grow older and search for jobs, even being bilingual can offer higher-paying job opportunities. As the children grow up, they will learn and be able to interact with other in a
The Helping House helps immigrants get on their feet and ready to start the American dream. It gives the immigrants a safe place to call home while they learn some important traits to help them start a life. Immigration is people coming from one country to another to dwell legally or illegally. Most immigrants move to a different country seeking a better life for them and their family. Becoming a United States citizen can be a long and confusing process. Most Mexican immigrants come to the United States to start their new life. The Helping House is here to help make things a little easier. The house welcomes female Mexican immigrants. It is located in Austin, Texas. It is government owned and operated.
I propose a program that will help immigrants who want to live in the United States learn the English language to improve their communication and, help third-year U.S. college students who want to become teachers gain practice. First, immigrants would learn to communicate while helping our future teachers gain hands-on training in a classroom setting. Lastly, teaching immigrants to speak English will help cross cultural boundaries and, possibly change our views about immigrants as they will be able to connect and tell their stories. Helping immigrants while helping U.S. citizens in the process is the best way to work together on some immigration issues and views.
Immigrants and refugees seeking services seem to lack knowledge and understanding of American culture. This may lead to legal issues and barriers that can ultimately impact their health and well-being. Language barriers are a huge problem among the immigrant and refugee community which leads to laws being broken without immigrants and refugees realizing that they are breaking the law. For example, in one’s native country, bribing law enforcement may be acceptable, while in the United States, it is an offense which will result in arrest. Immigrants and refugees need to be taught this in a way that they can understand.
There are emotional and legal concerns surrounding whether immigrants should learn to speak English. Domenico Maceri (2009), an award-winning author and foreign language instructor at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria California, states “I never met an immigrant in the United States who needed laws to be reminded that English is necessary to succeed” (par. 9).
