Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen
In mid-2001, it was reported that former bassist Justin Sane had attempted suicide by drinking excessive amounts of cough syrup. The attempt had an impact on the band's Take Action Tour. After lead guitarist Synyster Gates joined the band, at the end of 1999 when he was 18, the introductory track "To End the Rapture" was re-recorded featuring a full band element. The album was subsequently re-released on Hopeless Records in 2002. The band started to receive recognition, performing with bands such as Mushroomhead and Shadows Fall and playing on the Take Action Tour.
Having found a new bassist, Johnny Christ, the group released their second studio album titled Waking the Fallen on Hopeless Records in August 2003. The album featured a more refined and mature sound production in comparison to their previous album. The band received profiles in Billboard and The Boston Globe, and played in the Vans Warped Tour. In 2004, Avenged Sevenfold toured again on the Vans Warped Tour and recorded a video for their song "Unholy Confessions" which went into rotation on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball. Shortly after the release of Waking the Fallen, Avenged Sevenfold left Hopeless Records and were signed to Warner Bros. Records.

Stone Temple Pilots were able to turn alternative rock into stadium rock; naturally, they became the most critically despised band of their era. Accused by many critics of being nothing more than ripoff artists who pilfered from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, the bandmates nevertheless became major stars in 1993. And the influence of those bands was apparent in their music, although Stone Temple Pilots did manage to change things around a bit. STP were more concerned with tight song structure and riffs than punk rage. Their closest antecedents were not the Sex Pistols or Hüsker Dü; instead the band resembled arena rock acts from the '70s -- they made popular hard rock that sounded good on the radio and in concert. No matter what

The Motley Crue is a heavy metal band, with carefree lifestyle, that they spread throughout the world through their music. The members of the band were not only memorable on the stage, but off stage as well. They lived a lifestyle most would not deem socially correct, though it seemed to benefit their career. Selling over 100 million albums worldwide, Motley Crue helped spread the heavy metal brand of music around the world. All of these factors contributed to making them one of the best selling bands of all time. Their style, their life outside of music, and the spread of their music has lead Motley Crue to the top of Rock and Roll.
After groups paved the way for heavy metal, one band can be the representative of the heavy metal style in the 1980’s. Metallica was formed on October 15, 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Lars played the drums while James was on vocals and guitar. Kirk Hammett joined the band in 1982 and became the band’s lead guitarist. Metallica’s bass player was Jason Newsted, after their first bassist, Cliff Murton, was killed in a bus crash. It was on March fourteenth that Metallica played their first gig at radio city Anaheim in California. On June fourteenth the Metal Massacre LP was released and it was Metallica's first appearance on an official record. The first release of the LP contained a few mistakes including band’s name being miss spelt Mettallica and Lloyd grants name being misspelled as Loydd Grant.
“Another popular grunge band from the 90’s, Soundgarden, is infamous for their album, “Supermassive Black Hole”, which included the hit “Black Hole Sun”. This band included members singer Chris Cornell, drummer Matt Cameron (before going to Pearl Jam), lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto.”
The English brothers have created a name for themselves within the past few years through their collaborations with some of pops biggest names, (Lorde, Sam Smith) as well as solid tracks featuring their own uniquely smooth sound. Mixing dance and pop, their futuristic sound helps stand out in the otherwise saturated EDM field. With the lack of obnoxious drops and more of a focus on overall production and vocals, Disclosure’s music can appeal to those who aren’t the biggest fans of dance or pop music. Give their 2013 album Settle a listen, focusing on key tracks such as ‘When A Fire Starts to Burn,’ ‘Grab Her!’ and ‘White Noise’ feat.
The band has sold over 75 million records worldwide. This proves that they were one of the best-selling music artists in history and since the band’s breakup, they are often considered as one of the greatest artists of all time. Two live and two studio albums have also reached the number one place on the Billboard 200 chart.
It consisted of Courtney on vocals and guitar, Eric Erlandson on guitar, Jill Emery on bass, and Caroline Rue on drums (Caroline and Jill would be replaced later on). The band released their debut album “Pretty on the Inside” in 1991. It was pretty successful, but their following album “Live Through This” was even more successful. Their next album “Celebrity Skin” had a more polished sound than Live Through This; it’s leading song “Celebrity Skin” reached the top of the charts. Both of these albums inspired me in such a way that I have never felt. The chord progressions are catchy, screams are empowering, and lyrics about Courtney’s troubled life strengthened my sense of empathy. Even though these albums were wide-selling and brough Love the attention she wanted, she was struggling with drug abuse underneath it
