The Immigrant Crisis in Europe
According to Time for Kids, for many years, Syrian and Middle Eastern refugees have been entering other countries because of the gruesome warfare. also most European countries have been planning to accept thousands of refugees. Currently, the most original country that the refugees came from was Syria. On September 10, 2015, Middle Eastern refugees might have a new light because President Obama thought of accepting 10,000 refugees!
So far, some refugees have entered Greece, but it has included a lot of problems. For instance, there has been lot of waiting for the borders with a lot of rules and regulations.
Sara Arbini decided to leave her husband in Syria in order to gain access to proper medical care. She says, “It’s like we went back 200 years.” Finding work, clean water, and electricity became
The United States is one big melting pot of different kinds of people and this is what makes the United States so unique. Our ancestors at some point or another came over from a different country to start a new life for many different reasons, such as a better job opportunities and better quality of life. Many of us forget this to be true since our ancestors have lived in here for generation after generation. However, not everyone is as lucky as we are to be able to call themselves citizens of the United States. We still have many immigrants entering the United States to start a new and better life but this can create problems for the legal citizens when they do so illegally.
Due to the recent crises caused by the conflict in Syria, more than four million refugees have fled that region of the
According to Fox news,Obama administration officials plan to bring in about 10,000 refugees over the next year. This will give them a safe place to stay, a chance to get back on their feet, a chance to get a job, will allow them to get healthcare, an education, and any other other commodities the refugees could possibly need. But, every person has another side. In France, in November of 2015, the ISIS bombers were identified as refugees that had fled to escape the war. As they had started to live in France, they joined ISIS, and were undercover. Letting people into your country without thinking about it gives them a chance to be a threat. Some countries are letting refugees’ records slide so they can start a now life. CNN news says that 31 U.S. governors are not accepting Syrian refugees.Overall, it is the wrong choice to let refugees into your
A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, or persecution. Recently there are many debates going on, whether the United States should allow Syrian refugees to come into America or not. At the same time, there is a civil war in Syria between the government led by Bashar al-Assad and the rebels. As a result, there are thousands of Syrian refugees, without homes because of the civil war, attempting to flee the country and avoid both the conflict and ISIS. There are many States in America that don’t want to allow Syrian refugees to come into the America, because according to them they think that Syrian refugees can cause a potential security threat to them or maybe members of ISIS can enter into the
Thank you for your input. However, I disagree with you first statement. By allowing immigrants and refugees into the United States, this is not going to put a huge threat on our nation’s population. There are currently 326 million (roughly) people living in America. With this in mind, an extra one million is not going to tip the scale so drastically that this would become a “risk”. In addition to this, the people living in America have migrated from across the globe. You argue that our American ideology and culture may be threatened by immigrants, but in what way particularly? The only true natives are American Indians, but even their culture has not been fully assimilated or accepted in United States today. Because people come from different
Government policies are not simple problems that can be solved with a one-size-fits-all solution. They are bitterly contested in practically all forms of government around the world. Even in the United States, the Government suffers from lifelong politicians arguing incessantly with the opposing side. It must be said that if intelligent senators who have spent practically their entire adult life in the political arena are unable to come to a unified solution on hot-button issues, it is unlikely that one paper will change all of that; yet what I endeavor to do today is present a clear and accurate take on certain social issues, as well as the general necessity of a separation of powers in the three branches of government.
The challenge of immigration. Uprooting your entire life, without the surety of success, foundation of family and a full understanding of the variables, has been the most challenging and revealing leg of my journey. Traveling and experiencing a new culture, trying to get your bearing after leaving everything you had behind reveals vast amount about yourself. I realized that I wanted to do, what I wanted to be and after that point I knew nothing would stop me from meeting my aspiration. Moving has definitely created a new time frame to complete my degree. Transitioning from a different curriculum, waiting for my immigration papers and amassing enough money to pay for school, has resulted in a few years to go by. Being older than some of the
During this point in time immigrants faced A lot of challenges and it wasn't easy for them at all. Immigrants are the ones who built America and without them America wouldn't be how it is right now and to this day. immigrants were the ones mining, risking their lives building the skyscrapers that we have a standing today and a lot of them died building what we take advantage of today and it really sucks. A lot of Chinese immigrants would migrate over here just to help build the railroad and they would have to do the hard part of the job and they would end up risking their life and they did it now only because they were looking for work but just because American people didn't want to do it and risk their lives. Irish helped build America too and they basically built all of New York City and I wasn't just them but they had a lot to do with it. Without immigrants helping out and doing what they did for us today America would not be the same at all. immigrants faced a lot of different challenges not only with the working in the US but just trying to migrate over here, there was a lot of problems for them and they lived in poverty and It wasn't too good for them but eventually it got better.
Another country that has been admitting refugees is France. However, on November 13, 2015 the city of Paris was attacked by the terrorist organization now known as ISIL. ISIL members had used the Syrian refugees as a way to infiltrate France’s borders and organize this attack. However, it
They come from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Abilene and other countries. The refugees are mostly fleeing to Germany, Hungary, Italy, Sweden and, other places. They are trying to go somewhere else since they cannot go back home. They are also trying to get somewhere safe. The refugees are coming into the U.S.A by being granted an asylum. An asylum is a protection granted by a nation to someone who has departed of their native country as a political refugee.
I came across this article and it reminded me of the experiences of dealing with traumatic events. Families and children left camp site in Greek village of Idomeni and crossed the river near the border into Macedonia. They are being detained by Macedonian police and they will be returned to Greece.
The European Union has reported that as of January 2016, there has been a large amount of people living in countries within the EU. Those same people were also born outside of the EU. Those people were immigrants from other countries, and the total number of immigrants that lived in the EU at the time was 35.1 million. However, that same number rapidly rises each year. Especially in Germany, being the country with the most expanding immigrant population in Europe. Many reasons lead up to the decision as to why people migrate to other countries. Some reasons include war, poverty, and political instability, and other reasons might be due to higher employment rates, better goods and services, and overall safety in the area. The topic on immigration lies on a large spectrum of views. Some Europeans believe that immigrants have made their country a better place and others believe the complete opposite. In this research paper, I plan on discussing the effects on the increase in immigration in Europe alone, and how those effects are similar and different throughout other regions in the world.
Amidst the immigration crisis in Europe, it became very common for most involved political parties to come out as anti-immigrant. Recently though, one has been created in the Netherlands that is actually pro-immigrant. Denk is a political party founded in 2014 after two members of the Labor Party had to leave over a dispute (Siegal). The dispute was whether the surveillance of Muslims was justified or not (Siegal). The party’s primary goal is to combat the isolationist and nativist policies of the Freedom Party, led by Geert Wilders (Siegal). Denk has received a lot of criticism over the years as the first and only primarily non-white political party that is pushing for things such as the abolishment of the allegedly derogatory term “allochtoon,” which refers to Dutch nonwhites and the creation of a racism register (Siegal). This register would track and attempt to limit the use of hate speech by elected officials (Siegal). The party was founded by two Muslims, which led most of the Dutch to generalize the party as pro-Muslim (Siegal). In a city as liberal and progressive as Amsterdam, it causes confusion to most outsiders that surveillance of Muslims could even be considered, or that a pro-immigrant party is receiving criticism for trying to limit racism.
Immigration to the European Union The EU has to decide how to deal with immigration. The European Union allows it's citizens to move freely within it's borders, and also work in any member country. It is also relatively safe and has a democratic government, which makes the laws and regulations, the countries within it are quite highly developed and successful, and provide benefits to needy citizens. It may not be perfect, but compared to other countries there are many opportunities for a 'good life' in the EU.
