The Importance Of An Article

Simple forms of advertising can be highly effective, low cost or even free. These might include simply getting a sign painted on your van, putting a card up in your local newsagent's window, creating a Facebook fan page or starting a Twitter feed.

The article “The Case for Fitting In” compares to my idea of conformity because I think that it means how you change your opinion due to social pressure. My idea of conformity relates to the article because it was talking about how when people were in a group and someone said the wrong answer they usually went with it. “Each subject saw 18 sets of lines, and the group answer was wrong for 12 of them” this proves that most of the time people went with the group rather than going with their personal opinion. This semester I read about 16 articles of news that either happened currently or years before. The only source I used to to find these articles were a site called Newsela. Newsela to me is a very trustworthy site to use to find news articles about anything subject matter. There is Financial, Science, and many more I could’ve used for my current events assignments. I found Newsela because my teacher recommended me to use the website for the assignments. What I found most interesting about this assignment was the different news that can appear each day. I can log on one day and see many various news events, then the next day a whole new page of news surface. I also like to be updated with what is happening in the world even if I’m far from the event. What I found most challenging of the assignments were writing about who the target audience were for each news article. I was not sure who the articles would target, because I would just find any news article that seemed interesting to me. Some observations I have made about news articles and magazines when searching for information myself, is these type of sources tends to use enticing titles to grab the reader’s attention, which I have personally found to be very effective. Also, these sources use language and vocabulary that makes it easy for individuals who have never heard of the topic to understand. Organizationally, these sources do not typically have different subheadings, instead it usually is a writing with various paragraphs.
