Throughout the years, politicians have been reticent to address a grave issue that will soon effect our population as a global entity. The reduction of our carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere is an accepted and supported solution to reversing climate change. It is widely known that the burning of fossil fuels causes irreparable damage and irreversible change in regards to the environment, but not enough is being done to take initiative and make changes in the way we obtain our energy. Being that our fossil fuels are finite and only located in certain areas of the world, the burning of coal, oil and natural gas are not sensible solutions to our energy and climate dilemma. A largely controversial “solution” to the global energy and climate crisis is nuclear power; a nearly emission free energy source that has seen success famously in France but makes people hesitant towards after incidents like Fukushima in Japan. In order to weigh the pros and cons of a prospective global giant, one must analyze the energy policies of countries where nuclear energy has been the most prevalent, successful, and disastrous. Despite the recent accident in Japan, which may have been enlarged by outside factors, nuclear energy has proven itself to be an energy source efficient enough to sustain an industrialized nation like France, while drastically cutting carbon emissions simultaneously; which are reasons that support its ability to become a transitional energy in the near future.

Climate change is a issue that widely talked today. As the National Weather Service reports, the hottest temperature records are extending all over the United States since year 2010 (Schlesinger, William H, 2014). It is obvious that our world is heating. Global warming become more and more seriously. With the increase of temperature, many environment problems occur to have huge impact on our urban life, including: the sea level rise, air pollution and drought. These environment problems also endanger our area in a large part.

Climate change includes changes in the average climate, such as a general warming in mean annual air temperature, and changes in the frequency of extreme temperature and precipitation events. Some world’s largest cities are located in coastal areas. This increases their vulnerability to rising sea levels and storm surges, risking livelihoods, property, and urban infrastructure.

I should begin with addressing what global climate change is. Our environment is threatened to warm by 2 degrees Celsius and because of this our environment is warming itself faster than it can process and adapt. Due to the warming, our agriculture, weather, and even our human health are at risk. With the warming of our earth, it makes sense that we will begin to see changes in our weather. In fact, changes have already begun. Our storm surges are getting stronger meaning that hurricanes have intensified and are posing a threat to flood levels and to homes. There is an increase of sea levels due to the melting of glaciers which are causing more flooding than usual in places around the world. (McGrath 2014) Even though in some places we have flooding, we are experiencing droughts because of heat waves, and in turn, can cause wildfires. Climate change is one of the most crucial issues in the twentieth century. There is much evidence to show fluctuations in weather occurring on the earth. Scientists found that the period of global warming is occurring more frequently than the previous time and rapidly increasing temperature globally. The statistic records on the nineteenth century, calculated that the surface of earth throughout the 100 years ago that had average increase of approximately 0.8C. However, during the period thirteen years ago, the average temperature increase around 0.6C and continually warming with an upward trend in the shortest period. These events cause drastic changes which affect human life such as extreme weather (hotter and colder), food and fresh water shortages and higher levels of the ocean. It is important for people to being concern what happens now. This essay will focus on the main cause of anthropogenic changing climate, in order to evaluate and link the outcome of activity.

The interest was renewed during the cold war era when several satellites were launched and more data taking resources were available. 1970 was host to the first Earth day and since then global warming has gained more and more awareness and understanding. The cause of the average global temperature is due to the greenhouse effect, in which the suns heat and energy heats the Earth’s surface then gets absorbed by greenhouse gasses and re-emitted in all directions warming the surface and the atmosphere. Studies held in Svalbard have shown that the reindeer population has been decreasing it’s body mass. Reindeer born in the 1990’s weighed about 121 pounds, and those born in 2010 weighed about 106 pounds. This issue is a direct result of climate change, which is the expansion of the greenhouse effect, that is being caused by the doings of humans. Climate change indicates warmer winters means more rain. When the rain freezes, it creates a thick layer of ice above their food, which prevents the reindeer from eating, and creating serious competition for other food. The hungry females either aren’t able to give birth or produce babies that are much tinier.

I don’t know about you, but my guardian angel has been very good to me, but what have I done for her other than take her for granted? The answer is absolutely nothing! “Everyone loves progress, but nobody likes change” is considered to be an anonymous quote; however, this quote is considered to be true when change is forced upon us and it may affect us negatively. Right now, with the upcoming election, we are witnesses of all proposals and possible changes that we can have. Further, college students, as myself, face important issues and changes as the upcoming election is just a few months away. One of the problem that I will face is about student debts. The second issue is that employment rates continue to increase since the 2007 recession, but the wages still the same. Finally, the climate change is the defining story of our generation, and this generation should see every candidate’s point of view on this topic because we will receive a planet that the next president can either ignore or change.

Ever heard of climate change? Known to some as only a “hoax,” however it is just the opposite and in the near future, will become our biggest threat. We are all caught in a “climate crisis,” one that affects our entire way of life and needs taken action by all world powers. Take a deep breath and imagine it is Sunday morning. The birds are chirping, the air is crisp with freshness, and the sun is radiating at a perfect temperature of 62 degrees. The coast is a 6-minute drive away, and this is the perfect day to take a short journey to the rocky shore and splash in the water. However, there is one problem, an action such as driving to the beach front will almost certainly contribute to the destructive effects of climate change. Due to this claim, is it then morally obligatory to not go on this Sunday morning drive in an effort to prevent greenhouse gas emissions?

Climate change is a growing concern in today’s world. We often hear about worldwide temperature rises, and how they are caused by pollution. We are warned about some of the potentially catastrophic consequences of rising temperatures in the future. However, climate change has already begun to occur. (NASA, “Climate Change Effects: The consequences of Climate Change”). Therefore, there is significantly more talk about solutions to climate change. These solutions will reduce the causes of climate change, and also prevent any future damage or destruction caused by climate change. However, we must first understand how climate change is caused, and how it affects the Earth, in order to see how these solutions will help solve it.

Generally Climate Change is a change in weather pattern, when that change lasts for an extended period of time. It has been already proven that CC is the consequence of unchecked pollution. About 4.543 billion years ago, planet earth was created. As the years went on, the earth was starting to support life. Anything from bacterias, insects, animals and humans were starting to prosper and this was becoming a problem for the earth. As the earth was starting to support new forms of live, many of it resources were being used up and as a result, problems were arising. Problems such as is there enough water, food and resources were questions of the past. Recently, the new question has revolved around climate change and its effect on mankind. The reason no one questions climate change and global warming is because not so many people saw a tremendous difference in the earth 's temperature. However, as the temperature started to rise slowly each day, it became warmer in the long run and people realized that there was a problem. As of today, climate change is currently the biggest problem we as humans are facing. Climate change is already happening and is one of the greatest social, economic, and environmental threats facing the planet. However, climate change could be thwarted, by simply looking at the history, evidence, causes, effects and the solutions of climate change.
