Effective public speaking in front of a crowd could be difficult at times but it's all in a person's head, that makes them nervous. A presenter could talk about a specific topic 100 times, but the presenter would have to change it because most of the time, the crowd changes and so should the speech. Being in front of a crowd the presenter has to take in and acknowledge the diversity of the crowd. Also, observe before giving a speech because it would be helpful when presenting. It is beneficial to get insight on the crowd. The differences within the crowd could vary by; the size of the crowd, age, gender, color, etc.
At times the presenter will have to adapt to the size, time, location and audience mobility. As said in page 120 from the Fraleigh and Tuman textbook," Situational characteristic are factors in a specific speech setting that you can observe or discover before you give a speech." When a person gives a speech in front of the classroom the person should not categorize the crowd. By this I mean is when the person is presenting the speech not only should they just say good morning ladies, they should also include "gentlemen" because usually classes are mixed with males and females. Let's say that the presenter is giving a speech to an audience that is as big as 500 people, the person giving a speech will need to project their voice in a way so everyone can hear what is being talked about.
