Effective public speaking in front of a crowd could be difficult at times but it's all in a person's head, that makes them nervous. A presenter could talk about a specific topic 100 times, but the presenter would have to change it because most of the time, the crowd changes and so should the speech. Being in front of a crowd the presenter has to take in and acknowledge the diversity of the crowd. Also, observe before giving a speech because it would be helpful when presenting. It is beneficial to get insight on the crowd. The differences within the crowd could vary by; the size of the crowd, age, gender, color, etc.

Being a socialize person, I have always believed that public speaking is not a problem for me at all. However, I realize I was completely wrong as I had to deliver a lot of speeches in front of class, which was a quite a struggle for me. Even though my English accent has gotten a lot better throughout the year, yet it would always get terrible during my speech as I was mispronouncing words constantly. Fortunately, I have came to realize that my accent would not be so bad if I memorize the speech instead of reading it out loud like how I usually would.

There is no question that after giving about four speeches, I have become a much better overall public speaker. In the beginning of the semester, I would tend to get nervous during some of my speeches and consequently the delivery of my speech would be greatly affected. If I had made a mistake, my level of nervousness would drastically increase and I wouldn’t know how to correct it. Although today I have improved on these aspects. Normally in order to control my nerves I try to think as positively as possible. This is critical because when I start to think even a little bit negatively then I severely hurt my chances of giving a good speech. Instead today, my main priority is to stay very confident and tell myself that I’m going to perform fine.

Public speaking is something that I enjoy. Being able to talk to many people at once and having them get to know a part of me is something I find interesting. This message spoke to me, because I am extremely nervous about public speaking and I always avoid it when I can; when I can’t avoid it I always get nervous and start to stutter and forget information.
An exceptional presenter speaks to their audience’s interests, and uses stories to make their speech more pleasant. Exceptional presenters own the room by making themselves the center of attention. To be the center of attention one must appear organized, and credible. You should have a passion for the subject that you’re speaking about, and you must engage your audience. Engaging your audience relies on the ability to understand your audience, and relate to them. Relating to your audience can be difficult if you are working with a diverse set of individuals, but if you appear natural they will be more accepting of you. Above all, practice is key.
Depending on the words you choose for a speech it can change the perspective of the audience. Make sure you choose wisely. You never know what you may accidently create it could be war or peace. You can still speak your mind but, you need to be careful how you present it. If there was a roomful of Catholic people you would not go into the room and mention how you hate God and that he or she is the worst thing to believe in. You should stick appropriate material for speech for the audience. You do not have to believe in God to present a speech to a group of Christians. Speaking to an audience of hundreds of people sounds terrifying to me, however, it is this precise reason why I think I would make a great speaker. Throughout my academic career, I have always loathed presenting because I am naturally more reserved and in some cases, I am a shy person. I find myself not taking advantage of speaking in classes because I prefer having my thoughts prepared in advance so that I am clear and able to defend my arguments. I have not had a bad experience presenting yet, and I attribute this to careful preparation. Furthermore, I believe my idea is worth spreading because of its timeliness and potential to impact today’s society. The way one speaks to others can jeopardize the amount of respect and trust others have for them. Furthermore, the speaker is visually boring because of they are lack of confidence and fear of public speaking. Effective speakers use visual language to engage the audience. Your hand gestures, facial expression, posture, movement and eye contact are critical components of your visual language. When you take the stage, always maintain eye contact with the audience, not with the screen behind you. Make sure you are appropriately and professionally dressed for the occasion. Make sure your appearance is neat and clean. You don’t need to have a 1000 dollar suit but you need to be dressed appropriately. You don’t want the audience to remember you because your slip was showing or because your shirt was wrinkled. Don’t wear anything that is distracting and takes away from your message.
