Management is the activity of getting things done with the aid of people and other resources (Boddy, 2010). Stewart (1967, cited in Boddy, 2010) defines management as the activity of getting things done with the aid of people and other resources. Management is the process of things done, effectively and efficiently, with and through other people (Stephen et al, 2013). According to Stephen (2013) there are four function of management, this include planning, organising, leading and controlling. All these four are used to achieve the organisation stated purpose.

The successful development of an ethical environment relies on individuals being responsible for their own professional behaviour within the provisions of the code and for compliance with the legislation (national, state and local government) that impacts on the organisation and the work done.

Our communication plan will be based on reaching out to more younger men and women having risk of breast cancer. It will help us give them a better knowledge of the risks they may encounter and educating them with the prevention of the disease. We want to attract as many young men and women to our program as possible. Our clinic will be located in Flagstaff Arizona and our communication plan will help us get university students get more involved with the clinic. As a manager, a continuous balancing act is performed, simultaneously juggling numerous roles each unique on its own. When combined results in effective managerial leadership. Recently, in my workplace, the IT department went through a reorganization phase, which resulted in many people changing or gaining job roles. Our manager appointed and delegated some of her responsibilities to someone who has been on our team for many years, which officially makes them our team lead. The only issue I have with this individual, and so do others, is their style of managing that happens to be micromanaging. Her style of managing has created a tense working environment that makes it difficult to work in each day. Everyone seems to be on the edge all the time and each day there seems to less positive energy detected. Myself as well as other co-workers agree that management should be informed and suggestions should be made to either reconsider a different team lead or have management work with our team lead to make them aware of the situation and work on a plan that will improve her management style. Using the rational approach to change, management can develop a plan for the change initiative and improve the chance of success in the organization.

We cannot leave our discussion of the value of studying management without looking at the rewards and challenges of being a manager. What does it mean to be a manager? Being a manager in today\ 's dynamic work place provides many challenge.

Management in business and organizations means to coordinate the efforts of people to accomplish goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Management includes planning, organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization or initiative to accomplish a goal. Several years ago computers had not been available. It was not a resource people had to go to. Therefore computer skills were not a common skill you needed in an office. Now some of the skills generally every managers need are office administration, information management, and business documentation. Recently, in a study conducted by Professor Kowalski many workers had complained that the offices are not going smoothly. The office to them are more than an office, it’s a complaint department. The problem is that office management isn’t going how it’s supposed to. People are not trying as much as they should. The skills they learned are not on-going. The solution in this situation is to keep practicing the skills you learned and continue learning more skills. Every job requires you to know several skills.

I honestly do not have time for these managers. I feel just because you are a manager that does not mean you have to abuse your authority. Yea you have a higher position than a regular employee, but that does not give you the right to belittle them. There was an altercation that happened last year at my job when I went in to work the night shift and of course I ended up being with the manager that I really don't like. When I saw her in the office Automatically thought “ this is gonna be a long irritating night “. I did the usual clocked in, put my coat away, and grabbed a few totes that were filled with the merchandise that needed to be stocked. An hour went by and I was pretty much finished with putting all of the merchandise away and

What is leadership? What is management? Management can be described as the process of effectively and efficiently employing others while utilizing resources to accomplish organizational goals. The definition of management may change depending upon the individual. According to Don Mosley Jr. and William Gillis, management is defined as, “The process of effectively and efficiently planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities of employees in combination with other resources to achieve organizational objectives.” Management is important and necessary in all aspects of life. On a daily basis, people are utilizing management skills. Managers should create decisions applying the scientific approach in order to be effective.
